We so enjoyed our stay - close to everything, lots of space for three generations, house was incredibly well stocked and, of course, our grandkids loved the pool. Mary was super responsive and helpful. We look forward to our next visit!
Our families really enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. Spacious yet cozy. Lots of windows to enjoy the surrounding scenery from living spaces and kitchen. Beautiful grounds and outdoor spaces. Convenient to campus and Williamstown amusements. We will stay again.
Our family enjoyed our stay at Mary's home. Beautiful and great location, close to Williamstown and walking paths across the road.
If staying in summer confirm with host that windows have screens.
Plenty of room to spread out and outside areas beautiful.
Interesting eclectic decor a plus.
Communication with Mary timely.
Lovely rambling home with lots of places to hang out. Interesting library, nice piano to play and a beautiful pool! And just 5 min drive to the world-class Clark Art Institute. Good restaurant choices and nearby hikes. Mary made great suggestions and was very responsive to our questions. We really enjoyed our experience!
We had a fabulous time. A special birthday celebration and no better place than at Mary's house. It is the perfect home in Williamstown. You're out in the country and also close to two towns. Williamstown and North Adams with the amazing Mass MoCA. And the pool!! Plus, if you're a reader, it is heaven. Tons of fascinating books. The house has everything you need and if there's something you can't find, Mary will provide it for you if she can. Thanks so much for sharing your family home! We couldn't have asked for more.
Large updated farmhouse with plenty of room for everyone. The pool and flowers are spectacular and we enjoyed many sunny days in the pool, meals on the patio and reading on the front porch. We also enjoyed the large modern kitchen, grill for burgers and the fire pit for roasting hot dogs & toasting marshmallows. The home is full of antique furniture and art from around the world. There are several TVs but we rarely used them. The owner was extremely helpful and checked in with us to be sure everything was all right. We hardly got a chance to take advantage of Williamstown but we did pick up goodies at the farmers market and visited the Clark art museum for a couple hours. Would highly recommend this home for a quiet & relaxing vacation.
Mary's home was perfect for our family's summer escape from NYC. She was a very accommodating host and we appreciated the recommendations she gave for local restaurants, hiking trails, and other activities. The house is very comfortable and the property is gorgeously landscaped. We also loved that she set up the badminton net so our kids could enjoy the yard. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
My four friends and I rented Mary’s property for a long weekend getaway and we couldn’t have imagined a more fitting property. Mary was a gracious host and the home had everything we could have wanted and needed. The backyard is unmatched. Would absolutely rent again, and soon!
We had a terrific family vacation in Williamstown. Our teens enjoyed playing yard games, and swimming in the pool and river. The house is perfectly situated for local hiking and walks. It's a great place to explore. Mary was very responsive and we appreciated her flexibility with our dates. This is a great rental for multi-generational family gatherings.
The pictures online of the house were beautiful but the actual house is not only beautiful but warm, inviting, and user friendly with all the amenities and equipment you could imagine needing on vacation. Location, location, location! The house is perfectly situation for a cultural tour of the Berkshires. We were easily able to head north to Hildene in Manchester, VT, to Oldcastle Theatre in Bennington, VT, and south to Pittsfield for the Colonial Theatre as well as to Lenox for Tanglewood. We also took advantage of the Williamstown Theatre Festival which was just 2 miles from the house. Because the house was so conveniently located, we could pop into town for coffee or go to the Clark Museum and pop back to the house for a swim. The pool was terrific! We enjoyed sitting by the pool, relaxing in the expansive garden and having meals on the patio under the awning. We enjoyed using all the rooms in the house and found it a peaceful vacation spot. Mary, the owner, was fantastic both before and during our stay. Patient and kind, she answered all our questions so we felt right at home. This was my first experience with VRBO and I am so glad that I signed up for this particular house. A dream come true!
We were in town for a class reunion. We had a wonderful time! Thank you.

Lovely home with a great pool
Lovely home, with plenty of space for 2 families. We spent a week, and enjoyed much of Williamstown and other surrounding towns. There is plenty to do in Williamstown, and Mary left a great list of local things to do and places to eat. The home was very clean, with a large well-equipped and well-stocked kitchen. Bedrooms were large, with 2 larger bedrooms that could serve as separate masters for 2 couples.
Mary was very responsive to communication, both before our arrival and during our stay. We were concerned that the home was not air conditioned in July, but for the most part it was cool downstairs and fans upstairs were adequate. One bedroom has an A/C window unit, and for 1 particularly hot night the kids pulled their mattresses into that room as it was large enough to accommodate.
The pool is beautiful and large, with lovely private gardens and yard surrounding it. We would typically spend our mornings out and about, and it was nice to return home in the later afternoon to relax by and in the pool. Wifi and cable service with Netflix worked great.
Overall, we would highly recommend staying in Mary's home. It is well-loved and lovely.

Nice stay in Williamstown
We stayed here with friends for reunion weekend at Williams. Big, well-kept house that's perfect for a group. Great location just a short ride from campus -- definitely not walking distance for most, but only a few minutes in the car. Huge yard, nice pool, right near Mount Hope Farm.

A wonderful week
Our family - 5 adults, an 8 year old and a 2 year old - had a lovely week's vacation staying in this home. The house and yard are spacious, and gracious. The pool, with diving board, chairs and umbrella, and float devices, was very nice. The large flat lawn was great for bocce and for kicking around a soccer ball. The patio was also spacious, well equipped, and attractive. The huge kitchen with dining area - and even a second sink - worked wonderfully for us, as did the general layout of the house. Its location felt rural but was close to town and much else - the Clark Institiute, MassMoCA, Hancock Shaker Village; several nature preserves for walking, and hiking areas as well. All this less than 3 hours from NYC and Boston. We were very happy with our choice of this house and this area.

A lovely spot to reunite with friends
My husband and I, and three other couples, stayed at this beautiful, welcoming house for four days in June 2015. The house is even more spacious than it appears in photos, and is artistically and comfortably decorated with interesting artifacts from the owner's trips. There are many sitting rooms to settle in for a good read or conversation, but our favorite spot was the big farm table in the spacious kitchen to catch up with one another over coffee and tea in the morning. The front porch with hanging flower baskets was our spot for early evening cocktails, and the back patio by the pool was our spot for late night conversations over a dram of whiskey after returning from activities at the college. The whole experience was comfortable and civilized, with the lovely murmurings of the river across the road to lull one to sleep at night. This house was a gracious backdrop to a fun and relaxing reunion with friends. All eight of us want to return again, and other friends are signing up to join us on a waiting list, having heard what a lovely time we had.

Jon F - this is an amazing home - great for enjoying life, entertaining, and having a great vacation
We stayed in this property for a week preparing for our daughters wedding and it was truly amazing - beautiful, welcoming, comfortable and great for socializing and entertaining. The grounds are very pretty, there are outdoor spaces for enjoying the pool or BBQ'ing, and the house has a wonderful family room, dining room, and kitchen, and the master is amazing -- it's very nice in the pictures but it is way better than that in real life. We also entertained there and the property and home were perfect for that - a great floor plan and very comfortable and special place. We would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend that you vacation here -- you wont be sorry.

Beautiful home in the Berkshires
What a perfect place for a family reunion! Conveniently located on the outskirts of town, this home is spacious and well-equipped, with a gorgeous new kitchen and lovely pool, large yard, and patio. The owner greeted us warmly, showed us around, and encouraged us to treat the home as our own, which we truly appreciated. We were extremely comfortable with four adults and two small children, ages 3 and 5, and we would recommend the home to anyone except those who might have difficulty with stairs (access to the bedrooms). Our visit was in mid-July, but we would love to come back in the winter--such a wonderful spot, and so much to do in Williamstown and the surrounding area!

wonderful place, inside and out
The photos of the house barely do it justice. It combines original, updated, and fully renovated rooms in a harmonious whole. The furnishings and art work are eclectic and beautiful. There are large rooms for everyone to gather and smaller rooms for quiet retreat. We chose this rental because our party of eight included four active boys/young men, aged 14 to 25, and we wanted enough outdoor space for their activities. We set up badminton and croquet, and there still was enough space for vigorous games of soccer and frisbee. The pool is lovely and feels nicely secluded. The retractable awning over the blue stone patio made it possible for us to have most of our meals outside, even when the weather wasn't perfect. Mary, the owner, was responsive and helpful,

Thanks for your very kind review - and yes, we took the photos with an older iphone so they are not as sharp as they could be. The house is a gem, with lots of interesting spaces inside and out, as you say. So glad you enjoyed your visit!

Spectacular! Perfect for a family gathering
This is a dream rental. Beautiful, spacious, warm, quiet, well equipped, perfectly located. We were there for four nights. Eight adults and a 3 1/2 year old. We have all traveled and stayed in lovely places but all agreed this is one of the loveliest, most comfortable places we've stayed. A large, beautiful lawn became a playground and soccer field, followed by luxuriating in a beautiful pool. This place has everything and more than one would wish for in a rental. And on top of everything, the owner is warm, gracious and helpful.

About the host
Hosted by Owner/Property Manager
Originally from Boston, I have lived in NYC, London, Paris and Florence. I love to travel - but I have been based in Williamstown for the past 20 years. In addition to travel, I love yoga, cycling, hiking, skiing, and sailing. If I'm not here, I'm probably off doing one of those things!
Why they chose this property
The Berkshires offer a unique combination of natural beauty and cultural sophistication. I hope that my home, furnishings, and property mirror this! I am delighted to share my comfortable home with fellow travelers who will enjoy the eclectic furnishings from my travels and treat the house as if it were their own. Nothing is more delightful than to enjoy an outing at Clark or a hike up the Pine Cobble trail on a hot summer day, and to return to the house for a dip in the pool and a barbecue on the patio!
