Cute and Cozy

Such a cute little place and perfect for two people! It was bright, spacious, and had a small kitchen with everything we needed, plus a great little front deck to sit outside and enjoy. The location was so convenient, being able to walk to nearby restaurants and shops, while still having an easy drive to the lake and everything else the area has to offer. Just a sweet, comfortable spot, and we really enjoyed our stay!

Dirtier than we expected it to be

We stayed here for 2 nights and I am sad to say that we were uncomfortable the entire time. This is my first time using Vrbo, but I have used similar apps before and I have never had such an issue with cleanliness. At first I noticed some things like a hair in the fridge, the rugs were all dirty, there were bits of dirt or something of the sort on the comforter, and there were a lot of cobwebs. Considering the property is in the middle of the woods I ignored the cobwebs and dirty rugs, but later in the night we noticed more issues; another hair under the comforter, another one in the bathtub, bits of food on the dishes, stains we could not get off of the knives—and worst of all—the top part of the comforter smelled like UNWASHED ARMPITS. There also looked to be eyeliner on 3 out of 4 of the pillows. It seemed like none of the bedding had actually been washed. Thankfully we had brought an extra blanket since it is winter, so we removed the comforter and slept with our own blanket. We also slept with the towels on top of the pillows since the towels were the one thing that smelled clean. I called the next morning with no response, so I left a voicemail with my name, my number, and explained the situation and asked if they could call us back. We never received that call back. This property specifically had no reviews but their other properties had great reviews so we were super excited to stay here. Instead, it was hard to sleep due to how dirty it was.

We’re truly sorry to hear that your stay did not meet expectations. Cleanliness is our top priority, and we take great care to ensure all bedding and linens are thoroughly washed between guests. We also complete inspections after each cleaning to maintain our high standards, so it’s unfortunate that you felt otherwise during your stay. We attempted to return your call but were unable to get through, and we sincerely wish we had been able to connect in real time to address your concerns. As for the linens, we personally checked them after your departure and did not detect any unusual odors, but we understand that perceptions can vary, and we regret that you were uncomfortable. The mark on the pillowcase was from a sharpie we used to label sheet sizes, which we’ve since corrected to prevent future confusion. Additionally, given the winter conditions, it’s possible some dirt was accidentally tracked in despite our efforts to maintain a spotless environment. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us refine our processes, and we’re truly sorry your experience didn’t reflect the many positive stays we’ve hosted. We hope you’ll give us another chance in the future to provide the five-star experience we’re known for.
