Lohrer’s Lodge on All Sports Long Lake Orleans Michigan

The 18 foot ceiling has a spacious and roomy feel to a small floor plan. Lohrer’s Lodge has central air for those hot days and window screens for mild temperature days.

Two large picture windows face the lake for a spectacular view of the lake. Keep an eye out for the wildlife on Long Lake of eagles, cranes, ducks, hummingbirds, turtles and swans. The eagles and swans are seen year round but more sighting occur in spring and fall.

For your convenience the kitchen is stocked with dishes, utensils, drinking glasses, wine glasses, coffee cups, pots/pans, toaster, blender, drip coffee maker, Keurig, instant pot, electric griddle, etc.

We provide high-speed fiber Wi-Fi, and one smart TV.

Towels and bedding are provided for six guests. The sleeping arrangements for six include a queen bed in the loft, a queen bed in the bedroom on the main floor and one queen air mattress that can be set up in the living room.

Appliances include dishwasher, garbage disposal, gas stove, refrigerator, and water softener.

Enjoy an evening around the campfire with hot dogs, s’mores, family conversations and viewing the stars. Firewood can be purchased just around the corner less than 1/2 mile from the house. During a full moon the moon’s reflection on the lake is a sight to behold.

Enjoy 40 feet of private lakefront just a short walk (about 30 ft) from the sliding side door. The lake shore has a hard sandy area for the kids to play in the water while you relax in the shade under the gazebo. If you have teenagers the sandbar in the middle of the lake may be more to their liking. Two kayaks and lifejackets are available for use.

During the week of Independence Day our neighbor, just to the West of Lohrer’s Lodge, puts on a spectacular fireworks show! There are also numerous other lake residents that provide firework entertainment. If you have a boat you can ride around the lake and see all the fireworks.

Most weekdays are quiet on Long Lake. At these times you may even have the entire lake to yourself.

The local party store makes pizza’s, chicken wings, deli sandwiches and other tasty foods. They also have hand dipped ice cream during the summer months.

We welcome you to walk through the flower garden behind the garage. Feel free to pick flowers in bloom and put a bouquet on the table for a romantic dinner. We also invite you to enjoy the lawn behind the garage for playing yard games, reading books and if feeling the urge pulling weeds!

Fishing is a favorite sport on Long Lake. There are numerous species of fish in the lake such as bluegill, crappie, perch, pike and bass. Bring your boat to enjoy fishing on the lake, or just throw a line from the dock/shore.

Lohrer’s Lodge is at the end of a private dead-end road. Neighbors are close but respectful of your privacy. Lake residents cruise the lake in pontoons in late afternoon/evening so be sure to give a friendly wave as they pass if you are relaxing outside. If you bring a pontoon or boat you can anchor at the sand bar for swimming in waist to chest deep water. The sand bar is located North of the “lighthouse” marked with a water buoy. Look for pontoons grouped together and people standing in the water. If deeper water is of interest to the more experienced swimmers anchor your pontoon/boat South of Lohrer’s Lodge where the lake is 13 to 20 feet deep.

Bring a pontoon or boat for your stay. You’re welcome to tie it to the dock and store your trailer on owners property on Morton Ave. (see parking section in this listing for details).

At this time we are booking three plus night stays. Arrive any time after 4:00 PM on arrival date and leave on or before 11:00 AM on departure date. A late check out fee of $50 will be charged. We are a married couple of 51 years. We have lived at this property since 1997. Now retired we plan to travel in our Gulfstream motorhome and would like others to enjoy our home and lake while we are away traveling. We have family, friends and neighbors to watch over the property while we are traveling. Rest assured if we cannot be reached there will be someone that can help if you have any questions about the property. Wow, as I'm sitting at the dinning room table writing this a young eagle just flew by the picture window! (Date 10/26/23 at 10:45AM)

Why they chose this property

I remember it like it was yesterday when we first visited this property looking to purchase. It was May, later in the day and already dark outside. Standing in the house trying to decide if this home was right for us we looked outside and the full moon was shining across the lake. The moon's reflection was breathtaking! (see photo section) That was our deciding factor in the purchase of this home. Every year since we look forward to the coming of a full moon.
Summers are filled with all lake activities, boating, fishing, swimming, skiing, tubing, or just relaxing on shore in the shade or sun. Of course, the summers are the main attraction on Long Lake however the other three seasons have their benefits. Spring brings back the swans, wood ducks, hummingbirds, cranes, and turtles laying eggs in the road. Fall brings back more sightings of the eagles as they hunt for fish and smaller birds. The migration of birds such as ducks, geese, coots, etc. will take a stop at Long Lake as they head South. I believe the fall has the most spectacular sun rises. Winter is a great time for ice fishing, snowmobiling, or just take a walk on the ice. Living on Long Lake is like being on vacation every day! Our neighbor once told us "Long Lake is Ionia County's best kept secret!"
