Farm stay close to Colorado Springs! Pine trees, fresh air, goats and chickens!
Park in our driveway, come through a separate entrance and you are suddenly in a quiet and cozy downstairs apartment with an aqua beach theme! The first bedroom you come to was painted by my daughter years ago for her younger brothers. It depicts an underwater aquarium with colorful fish, sharks, and a turtle. Some of it glows in the dark! The nautical theme was later carried throughout the apartment. We call it The Beach House. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with towels and soap/ shampoo, a large dining table, a few appliances for cooking, a fridge, and a futon that folds out into a bed. The second bedroom has a bunk bed and twin bed, and things for kids—toys, books, and games. You are welcome to wander around the property and visit with goats and chickens, say hi to Zoey the dog, and Smokey the cat. If it’s summer you can enjoy my summer garden. I will gladly give you a tour and show you what I’m growing, and how I manage my organic garden, how I’ve built the soil, and how I avoid tilling the ground by using pine mulch. Nearby you can visit the Paint Mines where the Indians used to live. Or go into town where there are a multitude of visitor friendly things to do such as the stunning Garden of the Gods.

I did not stay for long but everything was as expected and cute little Christmas tree when I arrived and coffee and muffins in the morning ,my puppy liked being there also .
The owner is easy to work with .. quick with communicating.. Kind.. very welcoming... The kids enjoyed the animals and exploring in the yard.. we enjoyed every minute of this place! Also warm muffins in the morning u just can't beat! Would recommend this place a thousand times!!
Absolutely loved staying here! Kids enjoyed the animals and the homemade muffins! My husbad and I loved the french toast! Will definitely be staying here again when we go to Colorado
Marian was very kind and hospitable. We enjoyed visiting with her and her family and the delicious muffins in the morning! Our stay was very peaceful and comfortable with all the amenities we needed for our family and pup. We look forward to come back again soon.
I and my family had a great time getting to know the host and the goats and chickens. Little Princess dog and I enjoyed our morning walks and admiring the beautiful garden. The living space was lovely, my granddaughters thoroughly enjoyed playing the piano!
What a great little place to stay! Marian was kind in bringing food and also left us water and juice in her fridge! Place was warm and comfortable and even has glow in the dark fish. My two teenage daughters slept well and enjoyed their stay! What a great place and will certainly stay here again!

A little piece of Heaven! What a wonderful place to stay...very safe and peaceful...like a beach bungalow. The ambiance is so soothing, everything is decorated to perfection...feels super homey...even original paint of sea creatures in the bedroom! We are so blessed we found you, thank you for sharing your space with us!
Marian is a great host! She brought us something for breakfast everyday. The muffins were my favorite. We stayed her while my fiancé and I eloped. There were 5 of us and it was comfortable and clean.

Unique farm experience. Loved seeing the goats and chickens. The actual apartment transported you to the beach, with whisical decorations. Very relaxing place to stay. Our hostess made muffins every morning and they were delicious. Since this trip was about hiking around the Paint Mines Park, the rural setting of this property was perfect for us.would definitely stay here again

Minimal kitchen
Host was very nice. Made delicious fresh muffins. The "kitchen" amenities left a lot to be desired although host offered to wash our dishes (since there IS no kitchen sink). My advice is to plan on eating out most of the time. The neighborhood is... "rural interesting" but not scary.

In my posting I mention that the basement has a "kitchenette" which means the appliances listed are available to use (microwave, hot plate, crockpot, utensils, coffee maker, etc.). I make it clear there is no "kitchen".
And that I will wash your dishes rather than you trying to wash them in the bathroom. At the end of the day "the price is right" for what you get. Most people will be eating out or at Grandma's house, but if you want to make a pot of outmeal for breakfast, you can.
The place seemed clean in general but there was dog poop on the floor. In one spot, which made us wonder just how well the ehole place got cleaned.

I have no idea how I did not see that dog poop! My apology. My daughter and I clean thoroughly the apartment after each guest and I check her work when she’s done. We do the same routine every time.
Same standards for each cleaning. I have apologized to Natalie. Please read other ratings and comments as well as her’s.
We had a very poor experience overall. Our first problem started when we were driving to the listing and could not get ahold of the host. I reached out hours in advance and did not hear back. The host had to let us in and there was no way to let ourselves in so we were reliant on her response. When we first pulled up to the house our impression was not good. The home was not well kept and the exterior was not welcoming at all. The host was still not responsive when we arrived. We called and messaged her but sat outside waiting to be let in because she would not answer. When we were finally let in; you could tell the place was not clean. The floors were dirty, the toilet was dirty, the sink was dirty, there was grime on outside and inside of shower. The bedding was a nightmare. It had so much woman’s hair on it and felt so grimy. The fridge had not been cleaned and host was grabbing beers and old food out of it as she showed us in. There was no ladder to get to the top bunk bed. I have a 5 year old who needs a ladder to get into a top bunk. I was so uncomfortable putting my children to bed in such filthy beds. The sheets were worn and old and felt gross. There was so much dust around the whole place. The host was stomping around upstairs til around 10pm and being very loud. Then around 2am when I got up to use the restroom there was a scorpion on the floor. There were bugs flying around you and landing on you were in the bathroom. Just a terrible experience. Do not recommend!!

I don’t know where to begin. Mary is right about my poor communication with them. Evidently the volume on my ringer was turned down. I apologized to them.
The exterior of the house?
Yes I did get behind in the mowing. I wish she had looked at the front yard. I’ve been working on it and it looks pretty good!
We are a small farm and it doesn’t always look neat and tidy but we try!
Dirty floors? I checked them with wet paper towels after they left. Results? Nearly spotless.
Bedding? The linens in the children’s bedroom are only a month old and of course are laundered. I do the laundry myself. Woman’s hair on bedding? I checked for this using a lint roller.
Found one white hair ( mine?) and several short brown hairs ( their children’s?) Grimy? Not that I could detect (after they had slept in them). I use cotton sheets and launder them with Malauleuca laundry soap ordered online. Dusty? No, we clean throughly after each guest. I’ve never seen a scorpion on this property in 20 years. Flies? Sure, a few find their way in. Dirty bathroom? It was still quite clean after they left. Fridge? Yes, I did forget that and their was some food and beer left in there☹️
It certainly wasn’t the filthy, grimy apartment that she described. I really hope you’ll read the other reviews as well!
