We had a wonderful stay! Our views were absolutely incredible. The property offered everything we needed PLUS some. The recycling of spices and left items paper goods is absolutely wonderful and I wish every rental realized the same. We will definitely be back to this location for future Mountain visits.
This mountain cabin is fine. Looks like they did a lot of the remodel work themselves. Not luxurious or high end finishes/details but overall ok. The location and views are nice. We encountered two bears in the middle of the day that came down the driveway. Both bears tried to open the car door. Make sure to lock your car at ALL times!!!

Lara, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed Howland House’s location and mountain views. While the bears can certainly be surprising, encounters like the one you described are actually very common in this area of the mountains. Keeping vehicles locked and food secured helps prevent bears from getting too curious ;) We appreciate your note about the finishes as well, and we’ll continue making thoughtful updates where we can. Thanks again for staying with us and for sharing your experience!
Howland House was a lovely place to stay. Our family of four and our dog really enjoyed our time there. The house is in a quiet location with spectacular mountain views. The house has also recently been significantly renovated, and while massive improvements have been made to the kitchen and general living areas, some of the finishes such as closets, windows, and bathrooms seem to be in the first stage of renovation. We look forward to seeing how renovations continue as the house is well on the way to being a gem. The management company was responsive to the issues we experienced with the fireplace not working properly and the hot tub not being warm when we wanted to use it. While the fireplace issue was not resolved during our stay, the hot tub issue was resolved. If you are planning to use the hot tub, make sure to bring flip flops as you will have to walk all the way through the house and the front entrance to get to the hot tub as the garage access to the hot tub is locked.
