You will be charmed by this tastefully decorated 1 bedroom apartment (located on the 1st floor of the townhouse, there is one apartment per floor). La Maison des Cochers is a 18thC townhouse, combining old and new styles for (what we believe is) a tasteful result. We have paid particular attention to the confort of our guests when choosing such essential elements as the beds and furnitures.
A covered private parking place at 50 meters from the house is available with this apartment.
Located on a quiet portion of the pedestrianized main street (rue Nationale). Within easy walking distance from everything that makes Amboise an excellent holiday town.
- Historical sites: 13th C St Denis church, Royal Amboise castle, home to François 1er and other kings of France, the Clos Lucé, last residence of Leonardo da Vinci and historical old town center streets.
- Gourmet restaurants, excellent weekly open air Market on the banks of the Loire, featuring local specialities: Cheeses, wines, meats and local produce.
- Bakery, newsagent, supermarket (open 7am-10pm) Mont-Sat, delicatessens, boutiques.

During the summer months, the town is a hive of activity: night-time open air Markets, street performers, local artists exhibitions, open air swimming pool on the Ile d'or nearby.

A short drive will take you to: Chenonceau castle, Chambord castle... (all main Loire valley castles).

Our holiday to Amboise was wonderful! Pascale is a gracious host and even provided a ride to and from the train station as we did not rent a car. The apartment is beautiful and provides a glimpse of what village life was like many years ago. A wonderful rental and we highly recommend!

La Maison des Cochers is lovely place to stay in the Loire Valley. The apartment is perfect for exploring nearby chateaux and vineyards. The description is accurate and we were extremely comfortable during our stay. The host is very friendly and was very willing to ensure that we enjoyed her apartment. This apartment comes with a garage, which is helpful to visit other towns in the valley. However, we didn't need to explore too far because Amboise is a quaint town with delightful shops and cafes and has a lot history since it is where Leonardo da Vinci spent his last years. In addition, Amboise's open air markets are wonderful, filled with local products and farmers. The apartment's kitchen was perfect for us to cook with the fresh ingredients were purchased at the markets. We highly recommend staying at La Maison des Cochers if you are visiting the Loire Valley.

Lovely Apartment and Stay in Ambroise

My husband and I spent a week in La Maison des Cochers (1st floor apartment) in November. The apartment is lovely and had everything needed. The bedroom is in the back of the property- so cozy and quiet! The owner, Pascale was very helpful throughout our stay. The apartment’s excellent location is on a pedestrian street full of shops and restaurants, close to the Chateau and the apartment’s parking spot. We recommend staying here.

Love La Maison des Cochers and Amboise

Having stayed in this sweet apartment on a previous trip, we already knew how wonderful our trip would be. This time we stayed for 3 weeks to explore the Loire Valley and see the area châteaux decorated for Christmas. La Maison des Cochers is a perfect location for exploring the nearby towns and villages but is also fabulous to just stay in Amboise and take in all it has to offer. The owner, Pascale is delightful and so easy to work with. The apartment is very quiet and comfortable. It is centrally located in town between the restaurants and shops.

Wonderful apartment, great location

We loved our apartment on the Rue Nationale. It's spacious and comfortable and our host Pascale made sure we had everything we needed. The apartment is close to shops and restaurants, the Chateau and the riverwalk. There's a large market by the river on Fridays and Sundays with stalls selling all kinds of fruit, vegetables, seafood, meat, bread and cheese. If you like bike riding you can rent a bike and ride on an excellent bike trail by the river (it's part of an 800 kilometer bike trail). We loved our stay in Amboise and we highly recommend this apartment.

Week in Amboise

Pascals was a most gracious host. She met us in a car park and directed us to our parking space across from our apartment. The apartment was just as advertised. Very spacious for 2 people and had everything you would need for your stay. The location can’t be beat. You are on a pedestrian street within easy walking distance to all restaurants and attractions. Even though you are on a Main Street in town, the apartment is very quiet. Pascale reached out to us daily to make sure we didn’t need anything. If you are traveling to the Loire valley, Amboise is a good hub for your trip and don’t hesitate to stay with Pascale. You won’t be disappointed!

Perfect in every way.

The location, the accommodation and particularly the host were all ideal. The host, Pascale, was amazing! She picked up up from the train, oriented us to the surrounding, demonstrated all aspects and facilities in the apartment, including the washer/dryer, which would have been tricky since we do not understand French. We particularly liked that the toilet, with a little sink, was in a separate area from the shower and two separated sinks, each with a vanity, mirror and large drawer. The apartment was tastefully decorated, with lovely linens and adorable artistic touches. The location was right in the center of a pedestrian district, so it was quiet and conveniently just a short walk from all the main sights and the Tourist office which was the meeting point for our private guided tours and the hot air ballon ride. It far exceeded our expectations and we could not have been more pleased with our stay.

Location parfaite et hôte exceptionnelle !

Si vous cherchez la location parfaite pour découvrir les Châteaux de la Loire, ne cherchez plus ! La Maison des Cochers est idéalement située dans une rue piétonne du centre d’Amboise, proche de tout (boulangeries, restaurants, marché, boutiques, Château, Clos Lucé,… accessibles à pied) et pourtant très calme. L’appartement est très bien équipé, impeccablement propre, il ne manque absolument rien ! Un emplacement couvert pour la voiture est également compris dans la location.Et que dire de l’accueil de Pascale ? Tout simplement exceptionnel (malgré la pluie) ! Elle partage toutes les bonnes adresses d’Amboise et s’assure que vous ne manquez de rien tout au long de votre séjour. Sans oublier son petit cadeau de bienvenue dans le réfrigérateur !Bref, vous n’avez qu’à déposer vos valises et profiter de tous les trésors de cette belle région. C’était vraiment un séjour parfait.
