The North End is one of Detroit’s most historic neighbourhoods, a cultural hub that was home to Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin and Smokey Robinson, and which today boasts a tranquil residential vibe for young professionals and hipsters alike. Be sure to plan a visit to the Schvitz, a hidden gem of the North End just 2 blocks away. The North End is a historic Detroit neighborhood that has benefitted greatly from Detroit's recent revitalization efforts. The neighborhood is a quiet residential neighborhood situated close to mid-town and downtown (this property is located about 2 blocks from Woodward which is the main artery to mid-town and downtown).
Getting Around:
There are a number of ways to get to where you want to go in Detroit if you do not have your own transportation.
Uber and Lyft are super easy and always an option.
There is also the Q-line, Detroit's streetcar system, if you are heading toward Downtown. The Q-line runs straight down Woodward and will take you from the North End to Downtown with a number of stops on the way. It's inexpensive and a great way to see some of Detroit's highlights. You can catch the Q-line at Woodward and E Grand (about a 5-7 minute walk). Check the Q-line website for stop locations, fares and other details.
