Cozy apartment and great location

We enjoyed our stay for a quick overnight while attending an event in the area. The location was very convenient for downtown Albany events. The studio apartment was as described with some updated furnishings in a turn of the century building. Communication with the owner was excellent and they strived to make sure we were taken care of.

Communication terrible, property left much to be desired

We ended up leaving after the first night. We couldn’t contact the host and couldn’t get in for over an hour at 2am because he sent the wrong code. Then there was no air conditioning despite the listing saying there was. When we contacted VRBO, they contacted the host who said he’d install the window unit air conditioner, and that it wasn’t installed because it was winter (mind you it was at least 85 degrees in the apartment). I messaged him and asked him to let me know when the air conditioning was installed and the host refused to install the unit and told us to open a window. The windows were bad quality and would not stay open. We left and had to secure last minute lodging so as not to ruin our ten year wedding anniversary weekend. On top of the air conditioning problem: There was a huge burn hole in the couch. Food particles on the floor. Hair in the sheets and bedding. Not worth the money. Stay somewhere else. And if there’s a problem, just know the host won’t be easily accessible to fix it.

Nice, memorable stay in Albany downtown

The apartment is a cosy and comfortable studio and comes equipped with everything you might need for a short stay. The check-in process was easy and the communication with the host was smooth throughout. The apartment is located in Albany downtown with many eating options in the vicinity. There's also good access to public transport. Overall, I highly recommended the place.
