My family & I had a lovely stay at Art’s house. It’s in a typical OH small town surrounded by farms with older homes; there were some really nice updates inside! The beds were comfortable, which my husband and I definitely appreciated between the drive down from the northwestern part of OH & how busy we were hiking & sightseeing. We also enjoyed the coffee provided, while our kids liked the granola bars & the little jar of candy on the table! Art was great as a host. He answered any questions/ concerns we had faster than any host we’ve interacted with over the years of using Vrbo! We asked him if there were extension cords we could use the first night & he took the time to run one to the house while we were out to dinner! I also lost a necklace during our stay. Art let me know he looked for it shortly after we left, & though he didn’t find it, I was touched he made the effort to do so!The reasons we didn’t give five stars are due to a few cleanliness & upkeep issues. We check for bedbugs before bringing our belongings into anywhere we stay. Thankfully, we didn’t find any signs of them but there were some carpet beetles under the cushions of one of the couches. We also noticed some cobwebs behind one of the beds, a piece of hair on the side of one of the cereal bowls in the cupboard, trace mouse droppings under the sink (not unusual for towns near farms & in fall), & the front door screen was slightly ripped from its frame. Everything else was really great though!

The house was very clean. Lots of nice amenities and there was SNACKS. Beds were comfy. Washer/dryer in basement is wonderful. Close to a lot of things in town, and near Mansfield.Improvements suggested. Parking was not explained, there is not a driveway really so we just kinda guessed that we should park in the back on the grass? In the summer...the rooms upstairs with the bigger beds, only one has a window air conditioner. The other room is just hot, no ac and also window does not open/no screen. I ended up sleeping on couch and my husband in the twin bed downstairs because no one wanted "the hot room."
