New modern 4 bedroom private home is located inside the 24hr gated community of Cottages of Mauna Olu. Located in the Mākaha Valley with breathtaking Mountain View’s is a tranquil haven and a short 5min drive to Makaha beach. Our home is located just 20min North of Disneys Aulani Resort. Peacocks roam freely inside this ultra safe community and adds to its unique Hawaiian charm.
You’ll love the comfortable furnishings, luxury bedding, and ample natural light that fills this home. Our home is 2 stories within a luxury style living community that includes multi-million dollar homes. Master bedroom is located on the ground floor with 3 bedrooms upstairs. Views are spectacular and breathtaking with waterfalls that cascade down the lush mountain top during intermittent rains.
Driveway can fit 3 vehicles only. There is no street parking and HOA strictly enforces and will tow any vehicles parked on community streets. Drones are not allowed in the neighborhood due to privacy issues. The HOA has established specific rules regarding drone usage so please do not use any drones within the gated community.

Fresh Towels & other bathroom essentials such as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are available. Smeg Toaster, Smeg Kettle, Smeg coffee machine, Keurig Coffee station,rice cooker,Air Fryer and pots/pans are upgraded amenities available for use 4 Burner BBQ Patio Gazebo misters and fire pit Patio Sofas and Umbrella Split mini A/C in each room Smart TVs in the family room, Master bedroom, and 2 upstair bed rooms Iron, ironing boards , and blow dryers Fast Wi-Fi Board Games
As we take lots of pride in maintaining cleanliness, each mattress comes equipped with a waterproof & bed bug proof mattress cover.
This Home can accommodate 8 people. There is a king bed in the Master+TV, 2 Queen size beds upstairs + TV and a bunk bed with twin/full mattress + Work Desk. Please use caution when placing children in upper bunk bed.max weight is 200lbs and no adults are allowed on the top bunk. We are not liable for any injuries incurred while using the bunk bed. Additional twin foldout bed available in bedroom 2
Things to Note:
1) NO HOUSE PARTIES. Hawai’i short term rental permits are hard to come by and easy to lose so if it is discovered that you are throwing a house party you will be asked to leave without a refund. Max occupancy of the home is 8ppl including registered guest. Any un-registered visitors must get pre-approval from owner. Examples of house parties include any event greater than the max occupancy , any complaints for noise from neighbors, police being called for noise regardless of number of people staying. Tenants are responsible for all penalties and fines incurred during their stay including but not limited to Honolulu Occupancy and Municipal code regarding Disturbing the peace.
-Tenants will also be held responsible for loss of rental revenue resulting from the suspension or revocation of the property city lodging permit
2) Out of respect for neighbors and per HOA requirements QUIET HOURS are between 10pm-8am everyday and strictly enforced. Tenants must comply with this rule pertaining to acceptable decibel levels , 55 DBA (8am-10pm) and 50 DBA (10pm-8am). Tenant will be asked to leave if exceeding these levels and no refunds will be issued.
3) NO SMOKING/VAPING INDOORS
4) Please remove shoes before entering the home. The carpets are easily stained and excessive stains will also incur a cleaning charge by a professional carpet cleaner.
5) Please return all remotes and key fobs to their original location. Lost remotes and key fobs incur a $100 fee per lost remote/key fob.
6) PETS- This property does not allow pets of any kind but will accommodate service animals. If a pet is brought to the property without notification, a charge of $499 plus tax and applicable fees will be charged to your reservation.
7) MAX Occupancy may not exceed 8 people without written consent from the host.
8) Parking is only allowed on the driveway. Max of 3 vehicles. No parking is allowed inside garage and on the street due to HOA regulations. Any vehicles parked on the street will be towed. Garage is used for owners vehicle and personal items on the left side. Washer and dryer are available inside the garage along with beach gear.
9) Guests departing after 11AM on checkout day will be charged for the additional nightly rate as advertised. If an unapproved late departure impacts the arrival of an incoming guest, the departing reservation is subject to penalties and fines including but not limited to the refund of the incoming reservation. Keyless entry will allow you access to an ultra modern inspired home in a 24hr gated & newly built community. All guests must register at the front guard gate upon checkin and show proper identification( Drivers license, vehicle registration, and insurance are required) . Un-registered guest are not allowed on the property and the guard at the front gate will verify registered guests. Guests cannot exceed the max allowed occupants of 8 ppl. 10) Please note pool and gym are currently open: Key fob in kitchen Gym Hours: Monday - Sunday (7am-9pm) Pool Hours: Monday - Sunday (7am-7pm). Pool is closed the 1st Monday of every month for cleaning.
Please note below: No lifeguard on duty – swim at your own risk. We assume no responsibility for injuries No diving, jumping, running, horseplay, or disruptive behavior. No swimming during inclement weather. No glassware or breakables in the pool or spa area. No large rafts or flotation devices. No amplified music. No throwing of balls or objects in the pool area. No smoking or tobacco use within the pool Enjoy Hawaii and mahalo for staying at our home. Please do not leave any belongings inside your vehicles and be aware of your surroundings.
It is recommended to rent a car since our property is located away from the city in a tropical environment and Uber can take longer than usual for pickup especially when going back to the airport.

Charles was fantastic at sending links for "must do" activities. The house was beautiful and very comfortable. The backyard is an amazing space to hang out and soak up the sun.
Had a very nice week long stay here! A very peaceful area that allows us to disconnect from the busy areas of the island while exploring too. Great beaches within 15 minutes of the house! Loved the security of a gated community. Very quick response anytime I reached out from Charles. Would stay again!
This rental was perfect for our family trip, tucked away in the foothills in a private gated community. Spacious and welcoming had everything we needed to enjoy our downtime. Our host was helpful and checked in on us to ensure we were having a good time.
We were a family of 4 couples staying for a week. This beautiful home had all the comforts of home that we needed for an enjoyable stay! Extremely clean!! Charles was a fantastic host- provided plenty of information and instructions for check in and out. Any questions I had, he gave a quick response!
The stay at Charles’s house was absolutely wonderful. He was a pleasure to work with and very understanding with my late calls because I forgot the door code. I would love to stay with him again. It would be a mistake for you not to.

Very unsafe home
I rented this home for a family vacation. Bedroom 3 upstairs has a carpet over the bunk bed. My brother trip and end up in the hospital for 4 days. The host blamed it on the housekeeper. There lots of homeless

Hello Juan. It's unfortunate your brother had an accident and hope he is feeling better. Travel insurance is always recommended for these types of incidents since elderly individuals can fall very easily. Displaced individuals are located all over the island but they do not bother the tourist and most are indigenous to this island since the cost of living is so high.
Cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience it was staying in this home. We use vrbo a lot! This home was so well equiped, location is beautiful. You are not downtown in an urban setting. You are immersed in the real and comfortable part of the island. Everyone was pleasant and welcoming. We were able to grocery shop and utilize all the resources you are provided by the host...and they are plentiful! Literally the most well equipt home we have ever rented! Not an understatement! The pool and hot tub were perfection!A...wont ever hesitate to rent again and you shouldnt! Perfection!
This home was perfect. Surrounded by mountains and views of the ocean from the backside of the house. Close to some great beaches, but far enough from the city life, I’m not big on city life. House was clean and had enough room for 7 adults. The backyard was perfect for winding down for the night. The owner, Charles, gave me plenty of recommendations for us first timers to the island. Don’t worry about beach gear, they have it ALL! Just bring your bathing suits! I would not hesitate to book this house again. I don’t have small children, but if you do, this house would be great!
We stayed in this home for 7 days. It is beautiful! There were 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. More than enough room for all 8 of us. WiFi worked great, washer and dryer was perfect, plenty of towels, plenty of beach towels and chairs, I just can’t say how this home was a home away from home! Kitchen was well equipped as well. We were 10 minutes drive from the beaches. Even with the home on the west side the drive to the North shore and Honolulu was not bad. Just time yourself to go when there no “rush hour” traffic. The host is perfect. He was just a text away with any questions I might have had. I would book at this home again!
