Calin and David physicians doctors from Jonesboro in Arkansas USA organised a beautiful friends group reunion at Villa Luciano with guests coming from Vienna and Bucarest, they enjoyed the pease and set of the small authentic typical Tuscany village of Londa discovering the very warm welcome from the local community. We are looking forward for their next year reunion.
Our group of 13 had an experience exceeding all expectations.
Paolo and his staff acomodated every request with a cheerful attitude. The villa is a beautiful piece of architecture with splendid furnishings

it is always an honor and a privilege to have guests who, coming from all over the world, choose to stay at Villa Luciano and the pretty little village of Londa, just 40 minutes from the center of Florence, in the heart of Tuscany. Joe with his family and friends travelled from Houston, Orlando, Washington and London to gather and enjoy good time together in Tuscany. It was a pleasure to make them feel at home in our family Tuscan Villa.
The house was fabulous. We had an incredible time there. It's really nice that Paolo leaves London and stays close by so that if we need anything he is there to help. Especially rides from the train station. The pizza party was over the top. Thanks for everything Paolo.
We were a group of 14 looking for a large home. Villa Luciano is a historic estate looking down on the sweet small town of Londa. The house was large enough for us to have together time and time alone. And with our large group the 2 fully equipped kitchens was a gift. Eating outside with beautiful Tuscan views was our nightly treat. The best part was our gracious host Paolo. We were there during the heat wave and he bought us extra fans. We loved his recommendations for the towns of Poppi and Stia. Traditional towns with few tourists. The house caretaker Aziz was always around to help us with whatever we needed. A wonderful week at Villa Luciano

Sheah coming from Florida with her lovely husband, family and friends from different part of USA and even Tel Aviv in Israel choose Villa Luciano and Londa as the base to their Italian trip. Gabriella and Aziz made them feel at home while was Gabriella cooking proper Tuscan dishes at night and Aziz looking after them during the day. Sheah’s husband was relaxing in the garden playing my guitar and providing a magic atmosphere for all the group. We loved their way of staying at the Villa with their friends and family making feel everybody at home in the surrounding garden of The Villa. Finally I was put in charge to arrange for them a full day wine tour day around the Chianti wineries of the area including my family one too. During this full educational wine and wineries day around Chianti Rufina I was very proud to share my knowledge and traditions about our wine and wineries making. This full intensive wine day it was the peak of their Tuscan holiday and very much appreciated as I understood from their comments.
Villa Luciano is a magnificent destination, idyllic in every sense of the word. Beginning with our host Paolo and staff, the entire experience was fabulous and we felt at home the entire time from the moment we arrived. Located in the Tuscan hills a short ride to Florence by train or car, the villa experience surpassed our wildest dreams. We were a family group of 13 from the US, three generations, all of whom were thrilled to be there. The pool and the interior of the villa were immaculate, with all the amenities and service imaginable. A sumptuous Italian meal was prepared for us by Cammelo and Francesca on our first evening, a great way to kick off a week of family fun. Thank you Paolo for providing a wonderful opportunity for all, especially for the children, who experienced their first trip to Italy.

Dear Tony it has been a privilege and honour to host your beautiful three generations family at our property that has been in our family for three generations too. Also your Italian roots added a magical touch to your staying at Villa Luciano giving us a proud feeling for having choose our house to celebrate your family: viva la famiglia sempre!
Can't recommend this house, and host, enough; the villa, pool and location were perfect for our group of 3 families comprising 6 adults and 7 teenagers. Fabulous, labyrinthine, villa with all the facilities, privacy required and more. Beautiful and expansive gardens with pool with views across the surrounding hills and village. Paolo, our host, and his assistants were welcoming and always on hand to assist in arrangements when required. Londa is quiet but has great pizza restaurant which we wish we had discovered earlier and in easy reach of Florence by train. Other than one big shop on route didn't have to leave the village for groceries as has 2 adequate shops and a bar with food on offer. Altogether a wonderful week spent with great company in a great location.

Thank you so much for choosing Villa Luciano and our little town of Londa to enjoy your summer holiday under the Tuscan sunshine.
We had a true Italian experience at Villa Luciano. Poalo was an excellent host and guided us to the local wineries, as well as making certain that all our needs were met. The day we arrived he notified us of the Summer Solstice celebration, in the town square. It was a unique introduction into Italian Culture; there was food, wine, and entertainment. We stayed the week in the villa, which gives the experience of going back into the glory of the 19th century country-living. We were treated to an opportunity to make authentic Italian ravioli, pasta, and barbeque in the original villa, downstairs kitchen. We felt as though we had been swept back into an earlier time. The entire experience, at the Villa Luciano, was wonderful. I certainly would recommend this villa.

I had the privilege to host Joan and her wonderful family coming from California and Scotland into our family’s Tuscany Villa. Joan chose Villa Luciano to held her family reunion with her two daughters and amazing grandchildren (11, 14, 20 and 22) to experience something authentic in order to spending good quality time with them in our daily fast moving lives. For this reason I wanted to show them the real authentic spirit of Londa from where my family is from and its surrounding hills well known for the cultivation of the famous Chianti wine and the extra virgin olive oil just 40’ from the historic centre of Florence. My family has been in this valley for many generations and the beautiful words of Joan mean a lot to our community where hospitality is the most important value to share with our guests visiting our region from all around the world. Dear Joan thank you so much for choosing Londa and Villa Luciano for your family gathering and I really hope you will visiting us again in the future. I wish all the best in life to your great family.
Big historic house, fabulous pizza night , messy house
The tiger mosquitos drove us nuts day and night, but that's an issue around Florence in this time a year. Overall, the house is gorgeous, full of history, the garden is big, the pool is clean and the people are very ,very kind and helpful. The pizza night that was organised was one in a million. The old furniture throughout the house fits with its style, but house is extremely messy. Full and messy cabinets The personal belongings of the owners are everywhere. The kitchen is the messiest of all and not very clean. With a little bit of Marie Kondo this house could be a 10.
We stayed at the villa for almost 3 weeks with my extended family, children grandchildren and friends. It’s a wonderful old house and the people of the village were great. It’s a great spot to experience an Italian lifestyle with great tourist spots like Florence, Siena, and many more just short drives away. The pictures on the website showing some of the features of the village are dated now which is why I gave that a 3. The old ladies are not there anymore as an example. But you must use the butcher and the local fruit and veg shop. Just take google translate with you! And the caretakers of the villa Francesca and Carmelo and absolutely wonderful. And the pool, so beautiful with great views, we spent most of our afternoons up there swimming and drinking the local Chianti, marvellous!

Unfortunately Gabriella now nearly 80, our historical local lady, who has been the chef and cooking class mastermind at the Villa for more than 20 years, had been very ill in the last year and Carmelo and Francesca (my nephew’s father and mother in law) have taken over Gabriella’s role. Also one bar closed down during Covid but hopefully it should be opened again soon. We are in the process to update some of the photos and information launching a new website, but I am very happy overall that Judy with her family and friends enjoyed their staying at the Villa and Londa confirming an excellent feed back left by all previous guests writing their beautiful comments and memories both on our guests book at the Villa or with their reviews online. All of this makes ourselves very proud to be the custodians of this local treasure to be offered to our visitors who are coming from all around the world from Canada, USA, Europe, Australia, New Zeland, South Africa ….since we opened our family’s house since 1994, to visit this little town of Londa and stay at Villa Luciano (my father name)

Unforgettable experience
What a wonderful experience for our group of 10 at Villa Luciano! The Villa is huge and has absolutely every amenity for a fantastic stay. The rooms are huge and comfortable, kitchens well-equipped and the property is amazing...from the gorgeous and serene Italian gardens to the swimming pool which was so enjoyed by our group on warm, sunny days. The town of Londa is beautiful with all the services needed for a great vacation and the people warm and welcoming. While we visited many locations in Tuscany, we also enjoyed several days just hanging out at the Villa. How I miss the sound of the church bells ringing throughout the mountains!
Sandra, the property manager, is a gem. She was so helpful in planning our stay and was always there when needed after we arrived. And Gabriella cooked us two wonderful meals and provided us with life-long memories (and some great cooking tips) during our day-long cooking class. She is the best!
There is nothing negative to say about our experience at Villa Luciano. It will always be remembered as two of the best weeks of our lives.

Please come back you are very welcome to our little village of Londa a gem of Tuscany and Italy a perfect place to experience something unique and authentic
We are a 3 generational family.
We spent a great 10 days at the Villa.
It’s a very large house, beautiful grounds with a pool.
There was more than enough room for the 11 of us to spread out.
We loved the dining room and the outdoor dining area.
Paolo is a fantastic host. I supplied him with a shopping list for basics for our first days. He arranged a fantastic pizza and appy dinner for the first night.
He took some of us on a great hike. Another day we went to his cousin’s winery for a tasting. We drank varieties of this wine our entire stay.
The weather was very warm we spent hours at the pool.
The kitchens (there are 3) have everything you’d ever need.
Londa its self is small, 2 restaurants, a grocery store, bodega, vegetable store, pharmacy, butcher, general store, bar with deli and of course a delicious gelato shop. It’s a short walk down hill to the town centre and quite the hill coming home! There are larger towns within 10 minutes with lots of shopping and restaurants. Our vacation was great and we would visit Londa and a Paolo again!
We have been using HomeAway/Vrbo for many years. This has been, by far the best experience so far. From before we confirmed our booking all the way through to our last minutes saying good-bye after a weeks stay the communication and hospitality far exceeded our expectations. Paola's (owner of the villa) kindness and thoughtful consideration for our needs was exceptional. The villa itself has everything you would need to enjoy a home away from home. Our two families (9 in total) had no problem enjoying all the space. Plenty of room for quiet time if so desired. In addition to all of this I should mention the service provided from the villas extra staff. Aziz, the care taker, his wife Fatema and the resident chef, Gabriella who were all so accommodating to our requests. We were able to enjoy some lovely authentic meals prepared by Gabriella and Fatema. These were done strategically, one on the day we arrived and another one a few days later after returning from our day trip to Venice. The food was amazing and enjoyed by everyone in our group. Aziz was available (at what seemed like) anytime of the day. This stay would not have been the same without this addition of the extra staff. Londa is just a wonderful place to stay. Being able to walk down the narrow streets to the cafe to enjoy a cappuccino. A quick 45 minute train ride into Florence makes it easy to explore all of Italy. This was without doubt a highlight of our three week visit to Italy. Thank you Paolo for opening your villa.

We really love to share our sense of hospitality with our guests to make them feel at home experiencing authentic true values of our local culture. Gabriella and Fatima with their excellent cooking skills are a mix of traditional Tuscany recipes and Morocco exotic flavours while Aziz’s help are as well our surprise and gift to our guests. See you back in Londa.

The Best Place to Stay in Italy!
My family and I (13 of us in total) stayed here for two weeks this May and we couldn't have had a better time in Italy than at Paolo's family villa in the hills of Londa. Before even arriving in Italy, Paolo was attentive to our queries and willing to work with us to ensure that our arrival was smooth and easy. Once in Italy, despite landing in Rome instead of Florence due to delays, Paolo was similarly accommodating and helpful with my family members who arrived before me. I promise to tell you about the villa itself, but Paolo was the true star of our visit and deserves to be praised personally for all his wonderful hospitality and kindness. He even stayed with his aunt down in the town during our visit so that he could be nearby if needed and taught us to make pizza in the brick oven himself!
The villa itself is a lovely piece of history that is comfortable and beautiful, homey and elegant, all at once. There are two wings off the main floor that allowed for everyone to stay comfortably and enjoy themselves on the grounds. The beds are comfortable, everything worked as expected, and all was delightful.
It was also only a short walk to town where we were able to enjoy the local life, but even better was Londa's location in Tuscany, which allowed us to go far north and east to Lake Iseo and Bressanone for a weekend, all the way to San Marino and back in a day, and even do the Cinque Terre in single long day. There's a short train to Firenze, and there are some beautiful little small towns in the area (go to Poppi on Paolo's recommendation, it's a lovely little town!).
This villa is certainly the nicest place I've ever stayed on vacation, Paolo was the most gracious and thoughtful host I've ever encountered, and I would highly recommend to anyone at all that they should stay here for their vacation!

Tom and his family from USA with italian descendents chose our Villa for his three generation family reunion.....a great honour to have them in our house also owned by my family for three generation! I have enjoyed since from the beginning talk with Tom over the phone and by e-mail to be sure everything would be arranged in the best way to fit in his family vacation requirements and eventually to meet in person at the Villa and at last all family with hands on pizza making in the ancient 250 years old stone oven located in the main ground floor kitchen where Gabriella in-house local chef hold tuscan cooking classes ....Tom showed his skills as pizzaiolo too managing with great confidence all pizzas in and out from the oven: believe me it's not an easy job at all! Hope to see Tom with his father who could not make it this time and all family again sometime in the future at Villa Luciano and Londa. My best regards to all of them. Paolo from Villa Luciano

Perfect for Large Family Gathering
The listing description and photos accurately reflect the villa but let me reflect on just how wonderful this place was for our family vacation over Easter week. Fifteen members of our family stayed in Villa Luciano for eight days in mid- April. Six kids under 10 and 9 adults including two grandparents. The Villa met all of our initial requirements and more- reachable in one day from California, rooms/beds for all guests with plenty of bathrooms, large common room (there were two), walk to cafe, restaurant nearby, pool. .The kids loved running and hiding in the lush grounds including the hedge maze. Some used the pool although it was quite cold. Though there is wifi at the house, kids were told "No screen time for a week". We played games and did puzzles, ate, relaxed and then went on a daily excursion either on foot, by car or by train. The jacuzzi got lots of use. We enjoyed being off the beaten tourist path and in a small, friendly Tuscan town. There are small, excellent wineries to visit, bus service to the next town for the train to Florence (who wants to drive in Florence), and many archaeological and historical sites in under an hour's drive. Only one bedroom was cold but warm clothes including wool socks are needed in April. Contact with the owner and staff was excellent. The cost was more than reasonable for our group. Most of us have been to Italy, including Tuscany, before, some of us at least 10 times and our stay at Villa Luciano ranks near the top. You do not have to go to Chianti country (much more expensive) to get a true taste of Tuscan living. Londa and the nearby Casentino valley and the Villa Luciano have it all.
Paola add this visit very special. Very attentive and so helpful. A dishwasher broke and was replaced the next day. A lovely location and very small pleasant village. Our expectations were high and they were exceeded.
We were a group of 10-12 depending on the day. This is the property we built our trip around as we booked this a year before we went. And this place did not disappoint.
When we arrived Paolo was there waiting for us and we were amazed when we walked in. This is a castle! It is very large and almost a maze. We kept forgetting which staircase our room was on. Beds and bathrooms are very comfortable.
Paolo is the ultimate host. Anytime we needed something he was on the spot and his staff of Aziz, Fatima and Gabriela were just wonderful. The meals we had cooked for us while we were there to die for. First night had ravioli, pork and a torta della donna cake that Gabriela made for a member of our party who had a birthday was absolutely fabulous! The other meals we had were even better capped off by the meal we had the last night. Paolo suggested we have Tuscany Bisteca and we of course agreed. OH MY GOSH!!! They were four fingers thick before they were cooked and was one of the best steaks I have ever had!
There is a lot to do and see in and around Londa as well. We did a couple of wine tastings, one which was at Paolo's family winery which was very tasty. Also went east to Stia and visited a couple of castles.
We did go into Florence a couple of days one of which we rode the train from the Contea-Londa stop just a few minutes from the house. Very easy and cheap (5 Euros one way).
I would most assuredly stay at this house again and would recommend this to anyone as a great place to stay!!!
Great location, very nice village and the best host!
We stayed at Villa Luciano for a week in September. The house is specially great for a big group, everything is on hand, you don’t need to bring anything, it is all there. We have rented other places with VRBO but this owner is special. He is there when you arrive and answers all your questions right away. He is also vey helpful with planning sightseeings etc.
We really recommend this place!
The holiday was to celebrate our parents 60th wedding anniversary. Villa Luciano is such a lovely place to stay , you have such lovely views from the bedrooms and was so nice to sit outside in the glorious sunshine and enjoy the views from the garden or from the pool with a glass of chianti from the family winery. Paulo was great and organised a fantastic trip to a local winery which of course we came home with a few bottles of chianti and olive oil all produce within a fifteen minute drive of the villa. We also took advantage of the good Italian rail network and spent a day in florence. Paolo also organised an amazing anniversary meal cooked by Gabrielle and Fatima that has got to be the best ravioli we have ever tasted ( we seriously wanted to bring them home to the UK). We would certainly recommend a stay at the villa that was made even more enjoyable by Paolo who went above and beyond to make our time in Londa so good and also Aziz who made sure of the smooth running of everything during our stay.

We had the privilege to have this British and Italian family staying at Villa Luciano for the celebration of their parents 60th wedding anniversary, but what interesting to know is that their parents are originally from south of Italy. Domenico and Giuseppina emigrated to England in the 50s and they settled there like many others emigrants. Domenico and Giuseppina children are all British borne and they chose the little village of Londa and house to celebrate their family memories. Since I also emigrated to England 30 years ago and I have now British and Italian family roots I feel very close to Domenico and Giuseppina and their children and this make me very proud of Villa Luciano to have been their perfect spot to celebrate the love for their family. Carmine comments on their holiday at the Villa like most of our guests comments confirm that Londa and our beautiful house are magic places and a perfect setting for families and friends reunion from all around the world. Thank you for staying at Villa Luciano and share your memories. Paolo
There were 14 people in our group, 8 adults and 6 children ages 2-8yrs. We could not have asked for a property to cater for us any better, between the dedication of the owner Paolo and the caretaker Aziz we were truly spoiled. The location was fabulous with only a short walk into the village and the pool was a fabulous way to cool us all off on those hot days. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.
Das Anwesen ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, versprüht aber den alten toskanischen Charme. Wir hatten mit unserer Großfamilie mehr als genug Platz und einen tollen Urlaub.

It was like coming back home
After three years, we had the good fortune to return to Villa Luciano in June, 2013. Everything was as we remembered and our group of 6 enjoyed all the Villa's amenities as well as everything the town of Londa has to offer. Once again, Sandra was always there when needed and Garbriella cooked two wonderful meals for our group.
Staying at Villa Luciano is truly a unique Tuscan experience that should not be missed. We felt blessed to have the opportunity to come "back home" to the Villa and the lovely town of Londa.

Gary is from Canada and he, his family and another group of friends are coming back again next year (2020) for the third time since he first discovered Villa Luciano and Londa in the summer 2010! From his words and comments I can understand that he loved everything about our place and area. I will make sure that our welcome and hospitality to Gary’s group will make feel them at home again. I am really looking forward to that.

Pat and Jill were at the Villa for a week traveling from Missouri the first week of June. We did our best at The Villa to let them experience an authentic Tuscany staying. Gabriella our local chef lady cooked only local food and recipes part of our tradition but Fatima and Aziz Villa’s in house staff introduced the fine Marocco cuisine as well. Pat and Jill’s families loved walking to the Village in the morning for proper cappuccino and espresso served in Londa ancient square just 2’ down the road. I am always very pleased when guests send their comments on Villa Luciano traveling experience and recommendations. Thanks for choosing Londa and Villa Luciano for your Tuscan retreat and looking forward to see you again sometime in the future.
We have just spent a week in this wonderful villa as a family group of 10. The villa was spacious and very comfortable, with lots of character, which made it more like a family home than a holiday rental. The outdoor seating areas, terrace and garden provided plenty of attractive places for relaxing outdoors, and the well-maintained pool was very refreshing at the end of a day’s sightseeing in some of the nearby towns and cities.
The highlight of the stay for us was a meal organised for us on our final evening by the owner, Paolo. It was cooked for us at the villa by Gabriella and served on the outdoor terrace by Azziz, Paolo’s right-hand man. This was definitely not to be missed!
Throughout our stay Paolo could not have been more helpful with recommendations of places to visit, restaurants and answers to any questions we might have. Nothing was ever too much trouble. We learned so much about the Italian way of life from our conversations with Paolo, and by the end of our holiday we felt that we had experienced the real Italy.
We selected this villa on the basis of previous reviews which commented on the personal involvement of the owner in welcoming his guests and ensuring that they get the most from their stay, and we were delighted that the reality of our experience actually exceeded our expectations.

Gillian came from Scotland in June 2019 to celebrate her birthday party with all her family. Weather was very hot and they fully enjoyed the pool to cool down during the heat of the day. At the same time experienced Gabriella cooking and local restaurants around Londa. We arranged transportation from the Villa to San Gimignano and back for her group in order for them to take full advantage of the day venture being free to drink Chianti and don’t worry about driving back home (sorry not drink and drive allowed in Italy too!). I am do happy that they fully enjoyed their birthday party family reunion at Villa Luciano walking down to the village for a cappuccino espresso or gin tonic too! We loved their staying at the Villa and the fact that Gillian choose Londa for her family gathering. Very honoured for that and I understand that everything went behind their expectations. Well done.

Most memorable family vacation
Celebrating my 70th at Villa Luciano with my family was a dream come true. My group of 11 adults and 3 children, ages 3, 6 and 8 had so much fun exploring this beautiful, historical, vast property in the heart of Tuscany region in Italy. Londa town was a five minute walk down the hill, so we were able to do our grocery shopping for our daily breakfast and attended a Sunday mass at the nearby catholic church as well. We stayed at the villa last weekend of September to first week of October. Although it got a little chilly at night, there were plenty of warm, cozy blankets in each bedroom's closet, ready to use, which made us comfortable while we slept. Paolo, the host, was the real charm of all. He chauffeured us to/from all our destinations that made our stay easier and so much more enjoyable. Train ride from Contea - Londa station, five minute drive from the villa was an easy, fast alternative means of transportation. The panoramic views as we drove to the Tuscan countryside vineyards for our wine tasting events were breathtakingly gorgeous, just as exciting as the view from the villa. At the end of our day trips to neighboring towns, we did more fun activities at the villa: making pizza with Paolo, had cooking class with Gabriela who demonstrated to us her old style of cooking delicious authentic Tuscan dishes, and just relaxed, feeling home sweet home. On my actual birthday, the last night of our stay at the villa, my 3 kids collaborated with Paolo, Gabriela and Asis, Paolo's assistant who was graciously helpful and always knew what to do and to my surprise, a nice sit down dinner festively laid out in the formal dining room waiting for us. The whole experience was beyond our expectations and I cannot thank Paolo and his staff enough for making our family vacation the most memorable and most unforgettable one ever.
