About this property
The Pixies - in the middle of it all - Private Suite steps from sand or a pool
Precious place for a spry and youthful two, nestled in nature, yet next to all that’s happening. Close enough to be easy but far enough to be absolutely peaceful!! Deluxe amenities! 1 of 3 private units. Shared space includes only the outside areas.
Perfect pedestrian spot:
2 blocks - Beach or Depot
6 blocks - Old Town
The Pixies is a spacious suite with a new Queen (in a loft) wrapped in hotel linens with a sofa or porch for lounging plus a well equipped kitchenette including Keurig, microwave, retro fridge and a quaint table for dining, work or games. 400 square foot suite for two that’s larger than a standard hotel room yet has a very unique, tiny living wet bath. Lots of shared outdoor space. Few blocks from everything. If traveling with a group, see “Hair of the Dogs” - our 1400 sf unit that sleeps 4 or JD’s Zebras, a 800 sf guesthouse that sleeps 2. If max occupancy per rental unit is exceeded, without gaining prior approval, cancellation can occur with NO refund.
Leave the drama behind you. At Webb of Life, today’s fast-paced lifestyle is discarded for a slowed-down, distinct sense of place, that is embraced and savored.
Circa 1913 Webb Schoolhouse is listed on Historic Registers, as 1 of 5 of its kind in USA, redesigned with today in mind.
Countless deluxe amenities wrapped up in a lush park-like setting with abundant and spacious outside areas meant to be shared and enjoyed: porches, patios, courtyard, saltwater pool, hot-tub for 8, and sauna with a full outside bath… Onsite medical grade sauna service available, ask for pricing if interested. Plus- We have sourced an exceptional licensed mobile masseuse who is best to book 2 weeks in advance. Stairs! Not suited for young kids or disabled.
The historic Webb Schoolhouse strongly weathered all hurricanes and storms, and provided news-worthy refuge to an interesting mix of folks. This distinguished survivor is listed on both the National Historic Register and the Mississippi Historic Register as 1 of only 5 existing schoolhouses in USA of its kind (segregated by gender not race).
Webb of Life has undergone intentional redesign, inspired by a rare intact set of William Morris stained glass panels, that evoke the psyche of unhurried travelers with a respectful nod to nature. Period antiquities mixed with a splendid sense of Southern surrounding, nestled in a vibrant coastal community, tempt guests with cherished bygone ways. Webb of Life exudes a time-honored attitude that sparks a statement about how a uniquely crafted landmark in a steadfast community weave together, as a heartfelt gift in the timeless art of living.
Historical photo books exist for unhurried travelers to peruse or purchase.
The landmark property hosts three distinct and separate short term rental units (named The Hair of the Dogs, The Pixies, JD’s Zebras) plus two RV parking spots (named The Lyon-Hearted & Kidron), each with assigned private parking.
You can book the entire manicured acre of grounds for small weddings, custom celebrations, special retreats and intimate gatherings. The whole property boasts more than 10,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor park-like space. In whole, Webb of Life contains 3,600 interior spacious square feet of rare and unique historic rentals, that when combined together, offers 4 full baths, sleeps 10 comfortably, and seats 30 lunch/dinner guests with dedicated onsite parking.
