Panorama in the winter is magical. It is not just a ski resort and alpine village with downhill skiing and snowboarding. It is tucked deep in one of Canada's oldest mountain right by a creek with water flowing under the snow and ice. It provides a huge terrain for cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, winter hiking and fat-biking. The village has a grocery store, restaurants and pubs where people can wine and dine or, if they prefer, prepare their own meals for a family gathering. The hot tub, which is a few minutes of walking distance away, is a perfect place to relax under the stars after a day of skiing, and other outdoor activities. There is a gondola that can be ridden to the main panorama ski resort center which has large heated pools and hot tubs for families and children. There are also many great restaurants to eat at in the ski resort area. This lodge is also near RK Heli-Ski for those who are more adventuresome! There is also a great outdoor free skating experience at lake Windemere, which is the largest outdoor skating track in the north east, approximately 20 min. away.
