Gratitude View - Do SPRING in the mountains this year
Gratitude View offers a cabin stay that is far from rustic. If you are looking for a cabin that is tucked into a quiet mountain neighborhood, near Fancy Gap, we’ve got it. “Virginia is for Lovers” isn’t just for the beach crowd.
You will enter the cabin through the welcoming porch to find the interior has been recently refreshed and offers all the comforts of home away from home. The living room has a vaulted ceiling and electric fireplace and includes an inviting selection of books and games. New quality furniture, a 65" flat-screen smart TV with Roku services, wireless internet, and a well-equipped kitchen, may make leaving difficult.
From the deck with a gas grill and a table with seating for 6, your party can share a feast while enjoying the view of the piedmont and mountains beyond. Whether a foggy morning, a clear sunny day, a gorgeous sunset, or the nighttime sky, you’ll remember your time spent here at Gratitude View. You may even catch a glimpse of our local wildlife.
3 bedrooms (all with new high-quality mattresses) and 2.5 baths, provide plenty of room for 6 to enjoy this mountain experience.
The master ensuite is outfitted with a king size bed, separate shower and tub.
On the upper floor, you have a great view of your living room and the magic beyond. You’ll discover the Sky Room is the perfect place to dream on the queen bed. If your get-away requires a little work, you’ll find desk space there, too. The Red Room is outfitted with both a double and an XL twin bed with the full bathroom conveniently located between the two rooms.
If you just need a break from the craziness of your everyday living, come put your feet up here, and enjoy your morning coffee at our coffee bar.
The area offers a variety of golf courses within a short distance, if, like one of us, that’s your passion. Perhaps you fancy winery or brewery visits, you will have many options. Biking, hiking, or a stroll through Mabry Mill are always good choices.
Are you looking for a home base to spend your time adventuring? This is the perfect spot, whether it's a beautiful drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, a National or State Park (bring your park pass and get it stamped at the ranger office),. Or if you wish to revisit your childhood memories of Barney, Andy, Opie, and Aunt Bea in Mount Airy, you will not run out of things to do.
Keep in mind that the peace and quiet of this location also means that the nearest grocery store is 30 minutes away, so you’ll want to bring food with you for your first night, or stop at the store for a curbside pickup.
And when you plan next year’s trip your first thought will be ‘let’s go back to THAT cabin’

Your home is very cozy and helped to make our quick trip relaxing. Warm touches with the snack area and coffee bar. We loved the view and enjoyed the absolute silence and peace on the deck. Host was quick to respond; much appreciated. Thank you!
Gratitude View is the perfect mountain escape just off the Blue Ridge Parkway — peaceful, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by stunning views. The cabin is spotless and thoughtfully furnished, blending cozy charm with modern comfort. We loved the morning coffee station, the beautiful sunset from the back deck, and the quiet setting, all of which made it easy to unwind and recharge. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the hosts were friendly and responsive. A truly relaxing getaway — we can’t wait to come back!

Nathaniel ~ thank you for your kind words ~ We are so happy you enjoyed it. Please come again ~ each season has it's own splendor.
We had a wonderful weekend with family. The kitchen is well stocked, you can find whatever you need. You should bring extra towels. One bath towel per person is not enough for 4 sisters!

Thanx for the review Susan ~ it was a delight to be part of family memories. Great idea about the extra towels ~ collaborating with our cleaning team to see if that's possible. We look forward to hosting you again.
What an incredible house to spend the weekend at! The view is spectacular, the house is spacious and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay the best! Definitely a return place for us. Just a great spot to relax and enjoy company of family and friends. The beds are extremely comfortable and rooms are all spacious. Enjoy coffee from the nice coffee bar out on the deck while the sun comes up, you won’t regret it.
Thanks for an awesome place to stay! Highly recommend. Did I mention the VIEW!

Chad We are delighted that you enjoyed your weekend at Gratitude View and glad you liked the coffee bar with your sunrise. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
We brought our traveling companions to experience the gifts of Gratitude View. Here are their comments. “Meticulously planned….furnishings were comfortable in all the rooms. Many niches to find peace and quiet and also open space to gather and party. The deck overlooking Pilot Mountain was positioned to see both the sunrise and sunset perfectly!!!! The kitchen had all we needed to prepare scrumptious meals. Overall we loved your beautiful house and thanks for sharing it!”

Shirley ~ we are so happy your friends enjoyed their visit with your return trip to Gratitude View. It's a delight to share this special space and look forward to seeing you again soon.
This charming mountain retreat welcomes you like a warm hug when you walk in the door. The main living space and deck offer mesmerizing views of Pilot Mountain and the valley below promoting one’s sense of equanimity that soothes the soul. The cabin is spacious, beautifully curated, and meticulously organized. You’ll have everything you need in this quiet, peaceful, pristine environment.
Brenda and Karen are gracious, attentive, extraordinary hosts. They provided valuable information about the house, activities and events in the area, as well as detailed directions to the house as soon as we booked the cabin. We highly recommend Gratitude View the next time you need to unplug and unwind. We’ll certainly be going “…back to THAT cabin.”

Thanx Shirley ~ this is certainly the experience we want our guests to have. (Since we can't be there to give you a hug in person!) We look forward to seeing you again in the Fall ~ you are going to LOVE the color ~
This home was SO nice! By far the most clean home we have stayed at using VRBO. The views are breath taking. It is as if you can see forever. So quiet, just birds singing. We went from having everyday routines to doing nothing and enjoyed every second. The host have done such a great job on taking care of the guest in this home. My favorite things would be, Coffee bar and stocked. Views off the deck. Nice furniture. Very private setting. Plenty of room in all rooms. Great water pressure in the shower. Binoculars to look at the views. The night time off the deck looking over the Piedmont and all the lights of the valley below at 3,000 ft. Right off the Blue Ridge Parkway and close to many neat and fun things to do like Mt. Airy, home to Andy Griffith.
The host contacted us and asked if we needed anything.
They have been great. We can't wait to go back and spend more time and relax.

About the host
Hosted by Brenda and Karen
Brenda and Karen are sisters - one now splits her time between NC and VA the other lives in southwestern New York State where they grew up. Along with our husbands we want to share our love for this area with family, friends and new friends. If you are looking for peace and quiet away from the busyness of every day life come enjoy the soul healing of the mountain air. We are often 'living above the clouds' and sometimes in them! Relaxing on the deck, watching the sun farewell the day ~ often in brilliant color with a changing canvas minute by minute while the valley below begins to twinkle as families start their evening. Sometimes our favorite thing to do is simply Be Still and Breathe.
What makes this property unique
We are excited to share that we have embarked on a new sister adventure. Karen her husband Scott and Brenda and her husband Don have purchased a cabin just off the Blue Ridige Parkway.
We quickly were able to agree that we should name the cabin/business Gratitude View with it's impressive Piedmont View and agree with Zig Ziglar "The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for." We know that when you look for things to be grateful for you find it... Ann Voskamp speaks volumes with "Being joyful isn't what makes you grateful. Being grateful is what makes you joyful." If the mountains feed your soul, we would love for you to visit Gratitude View. And if you can stand another quote, we hope you can agree with JRR Tolkien thru Frodo's voice "... that house was a perfect house, whether you like food or sleep, or story-telling or singing, or just sitting and thinking best, or a pleasant mixture of them all. Merely to be there was a cure for weariness, fear and sadness."
And then when you plan next's years get away ~ we hope your first thought is "Let's go back to that one."
