We began with colonial Spanish and morphed into what it is. Jennifer’s collections cover the property while mine are in the tool shed and under the catwalk. Jennifer’s the plantsman. Fred does dirt and rock.
The space Guests get The Inn (our guesthouse) and the grounds. Our historic house (1879) sits on 1.052 acre lot that we’ve finished out as a garden with amphitheater and guest house. Shoal Creek runs through our backyard for 48 hours after a good rain. We’ve lived here since 1994, and our vision has come to be. Thanks to Luis, who has laid every brick and stone around here.
The second floor of the house: a covered patio, the second bedroom with open-air bathroom, has an exterior stairway only and is not suitable for small children. The downstairs bedroom also has a blow-up bed that is available.
Guest access Everywhere except the historic house (where we live), Jennifer’s studio, my tool shed, and under the catwalk. Vivienne's Treehouse is an amenity guests are welcome to enjoy.
Other things to note 2-3 parking spaces off street by slowly using curb-ramps to jump curb. Otherwise, street parking on north side of 31st Street is available.

Beautiful property, repeat renter. We had a few issues with our stay that Jennifer and Fred worked to resolve (AC went out among other things). We appreciate their help and how they worked to get folks out the same day.
We booked this stay for our intimate post wedding celebration for family and friends. It was even more beautiful in person, we barely even had to decorate! Communication with hosts was so convenient and quick. So many of our guests were so impressed with the space and we had so much fun! This space will hold a very special place in our hearts forever
We had a wonderful time at The Inn, celebrating our elopement eve and small reception with close family and friends. The beautiful location made it so that we only needed to focus on the tiny decorative details and let the garden do the rest of the ambiance setting! The tables and chairs at the location were more than enough to cater to our party of 20 and let everyone enjoy a wonderful evening.
This is the most magical place. If you have the opportunity to stay here, take it! I’ve never stayed anywhere like it. Fred and Jennifer are wonderful. I appreciate them creating such a beautiful space and sharing it with the world.
We stayed here to get ready for our wedding and had an amazing time. It is so beautiful and Jennifer is such a kind host. The grounds are beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend time at for our special weekend
This is the most magical property in the middle of Austin. Had dinner in the terrace/patio area and it was just the most lovely stay. As an Austin local will be coming back again and again. Thank you to Jennifer and other owners for their hospitality and warmth during our stay :)
We got married here and had an incredibly beautiful ceremony. At the end of the night my new wife and I stayed at the property. Beautiful, magical, serene - these words only begin to describe how special this place is. Thanks for making our wedding so memorable!
The Inn at Jennifer’s Garden was the perfect venue for our small wedding ceremony and dinner. It’s in a great location on a quiet street along Shoal Creek that feels wonderfully secluded, even though it’s right in the heart of Austin. The house is incredibly charming, decorated with the owner’s beautiful collection of art and artesanías from Mexico. The kitchen is well equipped, and our chef had nearly everything he needed to prepare a meal for our 20 guests. There are many lovely areas throughout the gardens where guests can gather, including a small amphitheater below the house. We chose to hold our ceremony on the steps in front of the large antique carved wooden doors that serve as the entrance to the house. The owner shared that the home was actually built to showcase these stunning doors, which made the setting feel even more special. After the celebration, we were also able to spend a comfortable night at the inn. The accommodations were cozy and relaxing — the perfect way to end such a special day.
