Cozy home in private setting centrally located on Amelia Island

Welcome to La Fin de la Route(The End of the Road).

You’ll find our place tucked away on a private, spacious piece of property. Whether you choose to relax and unwind on the property or get out and explore everything Amelia Island has to offer we believe you’ll feel at home in our little slice of paradise. We are located 5 minutes from Amelia’s beautiful beaches and 10 minutes from the 50+ block historic district of Fernandina Beach.

Inside the home you’ll enjoy the cozy vibe and open floor plan. The master bedroom has a king bed and en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a full bed the third bedroom has two twin beds. There are televisions in the living room and all three bedrooms. The garage has been converted to a flex space/recreation room. There is a sofa to lounge on, a fooseball table for friendly competition and a television for entertainment. The back patio has a propane fire pit with adirondack chairs for relaxing and enjoying the private setting and nature. Just off the back patio is a covered outdoor shower with hot water. The backyard is fenced, so if you’re traveling with your canine companions, they will have a secure area to explore.

If this is your first time to Amelia, plan to fall in love with the small town feel and relaxed atmosphere. There’s a variety of restaurants and watering holes that vary from world class cuisine to casual southern fare. If the outdoors is your thing you’ll be happy with your choice. From the 1,300+ acres Fort Clinch State Park offers on the north-end of the island to Amelia Island State Park on the south-end and the biking and hiking trails between, it’s easy to not have enough time to enjoy it all. If a day at the beach sounds like your idea of fun, you’ll be 1.4 miles from the sand. If you’re returning, welcome back. It’s said that when you get our sand between your toes you’ll always come back. Either way, we believe you’ll enjoy your time with us and you’ll come to understand why we say our life is better than your vacation.

As a lifelong native and third generation “islander”, I’ll be happy to make suggestions and answer any questions you might have to help you make the most of your time. We look forward to having you.

We very much enjoyed our stay and the location was central to everything. Our host Chris, has an information booklet that he put together with recommended restaurants (which we visited 4 of 5 and they were on point!), places to see, things to do, and everything about the house. It was really a great guide. Additionally, he was very communicative prior to our arrival and during our stay recommending a few other things for us knowing what we liked to do (biking). Would return most definitely.

Great place!

This house was in a week established are, close to the beach and restaurants. House was clean, modern and a great floorplan! Backyard was amazing for my two beagles. We enjoyed everything about the house and property! Hosts were great and responsive. Would definitely stay again!

Great Central Amelia Island Location

Overall we had a great 3 night stay. We enjoyed the fenced in back yard as it had a patio area with a BBQ grill and seating. I would note that it’s hard to walk too far as there are no sidewalks on the main N/S road to connect to the E/W road (Simmons) that has access to the beach. We went to the Beach, historic downtown Fernandina Beach and the resorts to the south during our stay. The house was clean and we used the Bluetooth speaker during our stay.

Family Vacation

Cozy Vacation Home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home! Great location, nice, big fenced in back yard. The outside shower was convenient to rinse off after a day at the beach. The kids loved the bonus room with games! I enjoyed having the ice machine. We will definitely stay here again!

Excellent Accommodations

Everything was perfect couple days earlier received entry code house was ready when we got there. Nice yard for pets and kids our dog loved it. Beaches were real close. Nearby shopping for all your eating and dining needs. The town and surrounding area just a lot of small town charm. We highly recommend this property would definitely stay here again.....great place to stay....

Spring Break 2025

Our stay at La Fin exceeded our expectations. The house is in a quiet secluded neighborhood at the end of a dead end street. Very convenient location to everything Fernandina Beach has to offer. The property is exactly as described, exceptionally clean, and very well stocked. Our pup loved the large fenced in backyard. The hosts were very quick to respond to all of our questions and very helpful. We will definitely be coming back!

Amelia Island paradise

We enjoyed our 2 week stay with our 2 dogs so much. Everything was as described. A lovely home with a gorgeous property. Our 2 dogs adored the fenced in yard surrounded by trees and the resident squirrels, birds, geckos and frogs. So close to everything even a drive on beach which my old knees appreciated! Wonderful people, shopping and restaurants. Thank you

Quiet street and Beach Access 30 is very close

Two turns and in less than 5 minutes you're at a nice beach access point (which has a ramp, no stairs!!). Fancy heading to downtown Fernandina? That's only a few minutes away, too - the location was quite nice.The house is nice, enough room to stretch out and feel like you have some space. Outdoor shower was good to have for when kiddos were sandy.We've recommended this to other family members as a good option and likely will be staying here again!One note: there was a bit of a dog smell with parts of the couch - it IS a dog-friendly listing, so no worries from our side, but it was noticeable from time to time with a couple of blankets and couch pillows. Noting in case it's relevant for anyone else.

Perfect pet friendly retreat in quiet neighborhood

This house was located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of several great places to walk our dog! Neighbors were friendly. We liked that the house offered large closet space, comfy beds, spacious master bath, and uncluttered rooms. Very clean. We enjoyed the rec space with foosball table and large, private backyard. We appreciated the large capacity washer & dryer, too. Location of house was short drive to beach, shops, marina, Fort Clinch State Park, etc. Perfect location for us. Would definitely stay here again on a return visit.

What a great find!

We returned from a great weekend at Chris’s property, and cannot wait to return! The house was immaculately clean and super charming. We loved spending time around the fire pit, watching the squirrels and other wildlife, and even utilized the garage space for fun, music videos, and foosball when it started to rain! Our entire experience, including the charm of the neighborhood and friendly neighbors, was just awesome. Thanks so much, Chris!

Home away from home

We felt right at home as soon as we arrived. The place is as advertized and the pictures are accurate. Everything we needed was supplied, dishes, pots and pans, etc. Nice washer and dryer. Beach chairs and umbrella. Very comfortable and clean. Large private fenced in back yard. Property has many large trees providing shade. Location is fantastic, 5 minutes to several beach access points with free parking. 10 minutes to historic down town. Very quiet neighborhood and friendly neighbors. Great host! Great communication, thanks Chris. New water treatment system installed during our stay, nice improvement! We would definitely stay here again.

Surprise Visit to see Family

We traveled here to surprise family that lives/snowbirds in Jacksonville which worked well as they were about 30 mins away close enough but distant enough for us to have our own experience. This rental was minutes away from "Old Town" with all its shops, restaurants, & historic areas.Our dog traveled with us and there was hiking/walking trails nearby to keep him busy, however the weather did not cooperate as the week of our vacation - it was in the 30's - 40's with ice/snow so thank goodness that the rental had enough TV options & entertainment. The house was warm, backyard great with fenced in yard for the dog to play safely with his toys. Kitchen provided the tools for cooking at home, overall very clean & comfortable stay in a nice quiet neighborhood.

Exceeded our expectations!

This adorable house is very roomy and comfortable. It is even better than depicted in the photos, offering everything we needed for our 2 night stay. Our dogs enjoyed the large fenced yard! The water did not have the sulfur odor (mentioned in the the listing) the first 2 days, but we could smell it the last day. I notified the owner and he quickly replied and said they might need to change the filter. Other than that, everything was great!

I am a native of Amelia Island and my family has been here for generations. I work for our local Fire Department and truly enjoy serving my community. In my spare time I am usually doing anything outdoors, and/or spending time with friends and family. My wife Missi and I share 4 children and we’ve recently welcomed a grandson. We absolutely love where we live and enjoy sharing our place with others so they can make memories too.

Why they chose this property

We built in 2002, and have created our version of island life with the property. We are surrounded by oak and magnolia trees and other native vegetation. In this day and age where homes are squeezed on tiny lots, we feel fortunate that we have a spacious piece of property to enjoy and provide privacy.

What makes this property unique

We are tucked away at the end of a dead end road with only a handful of homes surrounding.
