1/2 of duplex was really nice

Listing included 2 king beds but there was only one. The main floors of both duplex sides were comfortable and looked nice. There were 2 rooms in basement but it smelled of either pungent sewage or mold so not pleasant. The ceilings were so short that you had to bend over if tall in basement. The attic has a room but it was really hot up there without AC. It comfortably slept 8 in the descent rooms. I asked for WiFi but host did not reply and there were no instructions in the home.

Unethical listing

The benefits of this location: the area seems safe, and there is copious hot water. There is also LOTS of parking! Negatives: This place is an insurance scam. 1) This is a duplex, consisting of two separate apartments. 2) Bathtubs and sinks were not caulked - this resulted in water leaking from the top unit into the downstairs bathroom walls. 3) Broken cabinetry, ripped covering on couch in main unit. The kitchen drawers and hardware handles were haphazardly on, and drawers would fall out 4) The kitchen spigot was not attached properly 5) Floor and stairs uneven 6) Downstairs broken toilet seat reported in previous review still not fixed. The other bathroom had large broken floor tiles. 7) Major water leakage in basement 8)The upstairs showerhead repeatedly fell off while guests were showering. 9) See previous review about broken bed, lightbulbs, outlet 10) Owner ignored our reports of damage during rental. Why is this important? Because after we left the rental owner reported we left all sorts of damage, which, with the exception of a missing key we offered to replace, were previously mentioned in the earlier review, or just made up entirely. Owner filed an insurance claim, and although we have photos of the place before and just before we left, as well as messages to owner during stay (because we were warned by previous review), the insurance company can not be reached. Their financial loss, and VRBO? Bad form for not supporting renters.

Not what is shown

The listing said there were 2 king beds and there was only one. The faces of the cabinets were falling off and one of the kitchen drawers was also busted. Cobwebs throughout the property. Holes in walls covered up by curtains. Electrical outlets that didn’t work. Broken toilet seat. Furniture and linens VERY different than shown. Basement does not look like what is shown. 2 bedrooms in basement (not shown) with no heat, and very dungeon looking. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. The listing is extremely deceiving. I was also only sent check in instructions because I called him 45 minutes before we got there, never received check out instructions. We paid a decent amount of money for 2 nights and we feel like we got robbed.
