Quiet getaway

The house and amenities were great for a quiet getaway with family. The hot tub and fire pit under the dark clear sky was perfect. The only minus was the supplies left were minimal (1 roll of paper towel, toilet paper etc). There was coffee and a pepper shaker but it was empty. I would also encourage a printed instruction manual for the home regarding the rules of the house and amenities to make it convenient for guests. Overall a good experience and I would recommend this BnB.

Fantastic

Overall it was a pretty amazing trip. My husband and I reconnected a bit after 46 years together. Have to admit it is a bit strange for two rental properties on the same yard but it worked out well. Only a couple of snags with the kitchen status of cookware. And being a little older there was no mention of having to open and close gates for access. Health wise we’re not bad yet but some folks our age might have had some issues. Love being in the hill country. This was a very peaceful place.

Would not recommend (wedding weekend)

To start, the king mattress is really bad, its nothing but springs. I could gently rub my hand over the top of the bed and could still feel the hard springs bulging the mattress. My husband thought it was a box spring that's how bad it was. And when he got in the bed, it would make the bed go at an angle since hes bigger than me and would make me roll towards him, lol. The closet in the room is locked, so we had to hang my wedding dress and his suit in the bathroom on the towel hooks. Now we get to the real issue... I told the host how many dogs I was bringing and paid a 75 dollar cleaning fee for each pet. No cleaning supplies were provided for the stay. We were there 4 days. The cleaning company showed up before our leave time and we were rushed out, no biggie, but then I get a message from the host 4 days later, trying to charge me $473 for "soiled" items. Not damaged, soiled... The host was trying to charge me for every bath towel, hand towel, wash cloth, bath mat, every piece of bedding, even for unused beds. And for dog hair on the hard floors. She said if I could pay the $473 (which included tax) she would not also charge me for her having the wool rug deep cleaned, since my dogs slept on it and got dog hair on it. I contacted VRBO support which told me not to pay since she did not file a claim for any damaged items and I couldnt be charged for just soiled item's, like used towels.. So unfortunately not a good stay:( not pet friendly .. or people friendly lol.
