This is a very comfortable apartment in the perfect location for exploring New York. So close to the park where the fall foliage was in its glory! This was our second stay in this apartment and we are looking forward to coming again next year! We did have trouble with the internet and the television. Mark was quick to respond but it continued to be an issue.
We experienced a perfect autumn in New York in this comfortable and lovely apartment! The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We have already made plans to come again!
The purpose of my trip was to help my daughter and family move apartments so I chose to stay half way between both addresses. The location was excellent, close to everything yet the area was very quiet. The apartment was comfortable and adequately appointed
Apartment is clean and comfortable. It is well described in the listing. The host is personable and responsive to our needs. Location is perfect with easy access to the park, museums and subway. We would stay there again.
We have stayed in VRBOs around the world and this was, bar none, the best value for the dollar that we have had. The location is perfect, the apartment has everything someone could want, and Mark and Renata are uniqely responsive. There are numerous “little touches” that make this apartment special, not the least of which was the courtyard behind. The big trees make you think you are in a treehouse, and you are totally protected from city noise. We will be back!
Really excellent location near park. Well equipped place. Plenty of space. A challenge to get the exact mailing address for packages and accurate instructions to enter the apartment. A minor issue that I imagine they have already resolved but frustrating arriving after a very long flight with a lot of luggage. Renata was very helpful.
The home is as it appears in the picture and the location is great, right next to Central Park, the Museum of Natural History, the M79 stop, and the 81st Street subway station. And, despite its proximity to all those, it's still nice and quiet inside the unit. Mark was a great host and very accommodating with my requests. The steam radiators can be a little loud and the exposed brick kept shedding tiny pieces of mortar onto the bathroom vanity, but those were pretty minor problems. Overall a great place to stay.
The neighborhood is fabulous. So much to do and so many great restaurants and shops nearby. The apartment has lots of storage so you can really move in and feel at home. The kitchen is well equipped and there are throws and extra pillows around that makes it even more comfortable. The apartment is spacious and bright. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful time! We felt so comfy and cozy in this wonderfully decorated and spacious apartment. It is just as it appears in the pictures. No bright white sterile walls, curtainless windows or Ikea-style furniture here! As many others have noted, the location is excellent for busses, subway lines and restaurants AND Central Park, the bed is super comfy, the ceilings are amazingly high, and the beautiful, large windows offer a light and a view. We did have trouble getting in when we first arrived due to a mix-up, but as soon as we got in contact with the owners, Mark and Rene, everything went smoothly. They took good care of us. My husband got his coffee and pastries every morning at "It's All About Coffee." We had a number of choices for grocery shopping: Gristedes, Zingone Brothers (so friendly), Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Target. A collection of restaurant menus sit on the dining room table pointing to all sorts of area restaurants, but we also enjoyed making evening meals in the nicely equipped kitchen. (Thank you, Max, for the extra pan.) The coin-operated laundry is easy and convenient. Loved the shower! We would return to enjoy all this again in a nano second.
I arrived quite early in the morning and mark and Renata worked hard to ensure an early check in. I was given a direct texting line if I ever had issues to which I was always helped out immediately. Once, I needed a can opener and 30 minutes later one was delivered to me. Also, the management checked in with me to make sure I had everything I needed.
The apartment is clean and spacious with large windows and a private patio with a table. I truly enjoyed having my tea outside in the mornings and couldn’t believe the quiet feel of this space in the courtyard.
The AC units worked great, the bathroom was large and spacious. There was a sufficient kitchen for basic needs. But not a lot of counter space if you want to cook a gourmet meal. Which I like to do. However, I kept it simple and found everything was adequate for that. Also, counters and appliances were all clean and new. The bedroom is large and the closet space is grand. The neighborhood is fantastic. The Citi bike rack is across the street and the park entrance is one block away and the subway is 1/2 block away. It’s truly amazing how perfectly convenient the location is! I enjoyed many meals just a block away on colombus street, and one further block away is Amersterdame Ave with restaurants galore.
I felt extremely safe and comfortable in the apartment. One more thing - The laundry machine is directly across the hall and down the stairs. It feels like it’s part of the unit.
I would recommend this VRBO. There are other VRBO units in the same building. I saw 2A as well and thought it too was lovely. I would definitely stay here again!
This was my second stay in this lovely apartment in this exciting city. Can't beat the location with easy access to Central Park, mass transportation, Broadway theaters, museums and restaurants. Rena and Mark are always available to help. Can't wait to return.

Great location, but in need of a deep cleaning and attention
The property is in an incredible location, as other reviewers stated. Both Central Park and the subway are very close. Also, for an apartment in Manhattan, it's a good size.
That said, when I arrived, the apartment was not clean. The bathtub was filthy, the rugs had not been vacuumed, there was a thick layer of dust on the bathroom shelves, the kitchen cupboard interiors had grime and a strange smell to them, and there were dishes still in the dishwasher from a previous tenant, the cleanliness of which I don't know. The walls of the kitchen, and other areas, had evidence of previous splashes that had never been cleaned.
There were many remotes in the apartment for various pieces of equipment. Many of the remotes did not have batteries. Some of the batteries were corroded, and one remote, to the bedroom TV, had tape holding the batteries in.
The ceiling fan above the bed was broken. Since there was air conditioning, the ceiling fan was not such an issue. But at one point the air conditioner in the bedroom had water dripping out of it, onto the drapes and floor of the interior bedroom. (The air conditioner was repaired the next day.)
The storage spaces in the apartment (a loft above the bedroom closet and the utility closet) are repositories for cast-off or seasonal items, all of which are haphazardly thrown into the spaces.
The bedding and bathroom linens are showing their wear and there is no aesthetic coordination to any of them.
Many sundry items were also lacking, such as dish soap, trash bags, dishwasher detergent, or extra sponges to clean with. One sponge was provided in the kitchen. Subsequently, I went out and purchased many of these items and cleaned the apartment myself.
Lastly, the owner/manager, Rena, seemed more concerned with showing/videoing the apartment to potential future candidates (She came into the apartment 3 times for this purpose, during my 5 week stay.), than she was with ensuring the present tenant was situated in a clean, well equipped, and private apartment.

We always welcome our guests to write reviews and make suggestions so we can continue to improve our property. Ninety-six 5 star reviews validate our commitment to quality and professional service. Nevertheless, our guests should keep in mind that this is not a hotel and we can't provide similar services such as replenishing sponges, towels, cleaning supplies, room service, etc. Unfortunately, this guest had unrealistic expectations from a furnished rental apartment. Several times we asked if she needed anything and were consistently told that everything was fine. Needless to say, we were taken by surprise with this review. We were further disappointed when we realized she damaged things in the apartment and failed to mention it. We encourage all our guests to let us know if there are any issues and concerns ASAP, so we can rectify the situation during their stay. As she admitted, we fixed the A/C leak the next day, but were not made aware of any other issues.
The location was excellent, the apartment nice and the owners were good to work with. The only downside was our plans changed so we asked about a partial refund but that was not given ( three weeks stay vs four weeks paid).
Needed a safe place to quarantine and check up on our son. Location was perfect. Close to him—steps from Central Park. Hope to be a regular visitor here.
This unit is exactly as described. It is a great location, literally steps from Central Park. Many restaurant options, convenient grocery shopping. The building is quiet, and the unit is on the back of the building overlooking a lovely 'courtyard' area of patios and trees. Rena was a welcoming host. We would stay here again.
This is a comfortable apartment in a great location. We went for walks every day in Central Park (right across the street). Subway stop is one block over. Natural History Museum and the Met museum are super close as well (not open during our visit - next time!). It is so much nicer to stay in this area instead of in the noise and chaos around Times Square. Great restaurants at the end of the block, and even more within a short stroll. We were so fortunate to find the BEST gluten free restaurant (actually 3 different restaurants side by side) 1 block away (mediterranean, bakery, and fabulous brunch spot - all certified gf - but you wouldn't know it. I asked them multiple times to confirm because the pasta, flatbread pizza, and pancakes were so good. Veggie centric and Vegan friendly as well).
The apartment owner and onsite manager were always quick to respond if I had any questions or needed anything. They would even send messages on occasion just to check in. The apartment was very clean when we arrived. One note: The owners have multiple apartments in the building, so the kitchen and bathroom of the one we ended up staying in were not the same ones pictured (but were comparable, so it was fine). We did have the apartment with the small backyard balcony - a rare find in NYC, and nice to have a place to sit surrounded by greenery. The TV in the living area wasn't really functioning - but that was fine because we could stream on our computers and weren't in NYC to watch TV anyway. I would definitely stay at this location again.
Really enjoyed this apartment! Tall ceilings and big windows make it open and light. Comfortable bed and couch. Balcony that seats 3
Under big maple tree on inner side of apt a delightful getaway from the city. Central park a half block away.
Many excellent restaurants in easy walk-or quick delivery. Owner responsive and easy to work with. Hope to stay here again.
Peaceful neighbourhood and right next to Central Park gave us our recharge after a day of sightseeing and shopping which is so close. Subway to midtown and downtown is only 30sec away. Take a walk around the neighbourhood and you feel like a local with unique shops and New York style living. We will go back to Mark’s apartment anytime. Best laundry is on 82nd next to Broadway. Zabars on Broadway gives you the best selection of food.
The location is really nice!
Not only for sightseeing but also for us to run NY marathon.
Easy access for both subway and bus made us lots of visiting various places laces from downtown to uptown.
Also from the goal of marathon we could be back within 10 minutes walk after 26.2 miles run.
As to the everyday life, supermarkets and wine shops are easy ly accessible and we could enjoy cooking almost everyday which can make cost conscious people like us happy enough.
Thanks to Mark we could enjoyed New York for which we appreciate!
