The home is very charming with beautiful character and a peaceful lakefront setting. The dock area is great for relaxing, fishing, and enjoying the view, and the kayaks and life vests were a nice bonus. The house is spacious with five bedrooms and two bathrooms. We enjoyed the pool table and large dining table.However, cleanliness was a significant issue. We found evidence of mice, including droppings inside cookware, which required us to wash all dishes /pans before use. We also encountered three cockroaches downstairs. The floors were dirty with visible debris and pet hair throughout (pet-friendly home, but we did not bring a pet). It did not appear the floors had been properly cleaned.The hot tub was also unusable—it would not heat, showed error code, had visibly unclean water, and had six chlorine tablets at the bottom.We notified the host during our stay about the hot tub and cockroaches. While they responded and apologized, there was no resolution during our visit.We initially booked for four guests and later added guests as required by the host. This significantly increased the total cost, as the booking recalculated using the current nightly rate plus additional guest fees, which was not expected or disclosed upfront. The host was communicative; however, she deferred to VRBO and alluded that the pricing adjustment was out of her control.Overall the cleanliness issues, unusable amenities, and pricing concerns made the stay feel overpriced for what was receive
