We had a great stay

The Lydia Mountain Lodge was a nice surprise. We stayed 4 nights and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was quiet and comfortable. The mattresses were very comfy. The grounds and lodge are beautiful and fun to explore. I highly recommend!

Super Clean and Cute Room

We stayed in the Schoolhouse Room at Lydia Mountain Lodge and absolutely loved it! The room was so clean and cute, with a beautiful view that made our stay extra relaxing. The lodge itself has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, and the restaurant was wonderful — great food and excellent service from start to finish. The only downside was that the website listed the room as having two queen-size beds, but they were actually full-size beds. Other than that small detail, everything was perfect. We’d definitely stay here again!

Heaven on Earth!

I stayed in the Lydia Schoolhouse room while attending an onsite wedding. The room was clean and charming, and the view was lovely. I plan to come back to visit all the sites around the Lodge, like Skyline Drive, and Luray Caverns. Thank you so much for such a wonderful respite.

Fabulous, As Always

We have been regulars at Lydia for 10+ years (cabins) but this is the first time we've stayed in the Lodge. We loved it. Buck & Effie do such a fabulous job--- and Josh at the front desk is THE BEST.

Can’t wait to come back

We were pleasantly surprised! The best cabin experience we’ve been in. This is a beautiful property. Each guest room is carefully thought of as far as interior design is concerned. The whole lodge smells good. It’s very quiet and very clean! Even their towels are soft, clean and smell good. The restaurant serves delicious food for breakfast. The ciew from the 2nd floor balcony is just breathtaking. You won’t regret staying here, we are already planning our next stay. We were sad to leave and the fact that we were only staying for 1 night.

Nice getaway near Skyline Drive

This was our first stay at Lydia’s Lodge. It definitely won’t be our last. It’s quite nice. The Schoolhouse room is ok. The beds, bath and deck were great. We had an issue with the front door not locking. I went to the front desk, but no one was there. So we lived with it. The indoor seating could be improved. There are 3 schoolroom-like hardwood chairs. These aren’t necessary to enhance the “schoolhouse” motive. A couch or a couple of comfortable chairs would be appreciated. The restaurant (Bearrr Appetit) was great. We had dinner and breakfast. Both were delicious. We’ll be back.

Schoolroom

I had a wonderful stay in the school house room 112. Every item reminded me of my childhood and a one room schoolhouse and my teaching career of 43 years. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony and reading my devotion and watching the mountains. I especially enjoyed getting to know your dog, Jumper. In fact when I got ready to leave this morning, he came to my car as I was loading and got his last pat and said goodbye. The only thing that I feel you could work on is getting some of the broken gravel picked up or brushed off of the steps and the entrances to the doors. It made me feel I had to be especially careful in those areas. The food was great in the restaurant And Katie did an exceptional job even though it was very busy.
