We stayed here for New Year’s Eve and attended the celebration at Lydia. The Lodge is beautiful, keyless checkin was perfect, and we were able to bring our dogs. We look forward to coming back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return!
This was our first time staying at the property, and overall we thoroughly enjoyed it and would consider returning. The room was very nice and clean, and the views and location were unmatched. The restaurant was also good. Our only complaint was the check-in process was odd, we did not see a single staff member the entire stay, and the “self check in” could have been explained a little better. There were also events both nights of our stay which made it very loud late into the evening. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and would consider returning!

Was disappointed that the garbage wasn't emptyed or the floors swept, the cofee cups and machine was dirty, no remote for TV and no toliet paper, had to use facial tissues. The views from outside was nice tho. I did tell the Lodge front desk. However I heard that the Jeep Invasion was nice ( I am a member of 1 Jeep group JGMCVA) . The food was great in the restaurant!

Fishers room!
Last year I came to Bear Appettite for a brunch and honestly I didnt know the lodge name until I got the location and I was so happy how life works sometimes. I spend a good weekend and even saw fireworks. I would even come back. You guys manage to give me another room last minute with all you got. I appreciate the stay and the good staff. Suggestion to have utensils in every room too. Also Ice maker is not the best ice gets good for ice cones.
One of the blinders is broken thats all.

I keep returning!
This is my 4th time at Lydia in 18 months, if that tells you anything. It is such a gem! I enjoy the seclusion, the views and the unique rooms. Only a couple "negative" comments, which I raise because they are ongoing since my last visit. First, the ice machine doesn't work right, and when the restaurant isn't open, not having ice is inconvenient. Second, the snack machine is not stocked.
Other than that -- and the need for a good wet mop/cleaning of the floor in the room-- I still love the place. Thank you!!
