Quiet location with a great beach and easy access to the beauty of Sebago Lake. Loved that it had a private boat ramp.
Bedrooms were good sizes. Owner was easy to communicate with and very helpful!

Thank You for renting and your nice review. I am glad you enjoyed the cabin, neighbors, Sebago Lake and Maine in an unusual rainy year.
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The camp was perfect for our family of 5 with young children. We had everything we needed and spent most of our time at the camp, in the water. The cove was calm and shallow for the kids. It was a stress free environment. Cindy stayed in contact and was available for any needs. She also provided a lot of information about the camp and things to do in the surrounding towns.
The cabin is located in a small community along Lake Sebago and has a nice sized beach and shallow water ideal for young children. There is a dock to bring your boat and we got a sticker and fishing licenses to comply with State requirements. Cindy is a thoughtful host and her property is nicely renovated. I would recommend it to anyone interested in a peaceful cabin retreat.

Camp Life
Great location on Sebago Lake the biggest disappointment was that there was non potable water with a sign telling you at the kitchen sink. We knew nothing about that and it should have been posted. We would not have gone there. The place was a mess.Leftover food, food in microwave was a nightmare and almost left the premises.Sand follows you into the house, very steep staircase if you have more people to sleep upstairs.Smells of smoke won't go away.

Mark, Many properties close to lake do not have well water. I tell all renters local Raymond Fire Dept supplies tested drinking water to refill dispenser jugs. My add specifies Tranquil sandy beach and I supply foot bath for deck. I addressed your issues with new cleaners doing first time cleaning and reminded them of their check list and spraying all curtain, couch and rug fabrics with Febreze for dog and non-smoking odors. I also spent 8 hrs drive on Sat to check cabin while they cleaned for next guest. A new microwave and an air purifier (due to brown tailed Moth/caterpillar fur allergy in Maine this year) were delivered the day you arrived. However, I received complaints about unnecessary excessive noise your vehicle made scaring elderly neighbors when entering and leaving.

Location is a little piece of heaven on earth. Owner was wonderful to work with and very accommodating. Very easy to find and conveniently located near amenities if needed. Was wonderful to have the camp, beach and access to the water within feet of each other. The ability to have our boat at a dock on the property could not have been better. Already looking forward to planning another stay in the future.

Jodie, Thank you for renting my Tranquil cottage. This was the first time I have been in the area during a rental . Other renters have told me how great their vacation was but I saw how much your family and especially your small Grandson enjoy the sandy beach and all the Tallwood.

Fantastic quiet cottage right on the lake!
Spent an amazing week right on Sebago lake at this awesome cottage. Hilltop Market right up the street has fantastic pizza, the Good Life Market in Raymond has the best sandwiches, and Hana Asian Cuisine in Windham had the best hibachi I've ever had. 45 minutes to Falmouth I got the best breakfast ever at Bernie's Forside and lunch at Becky's Diner in the Portland Old Port! Fantastic vacation thanks to the great location of this cottage.

Thank you for returning to Tallwood in Dingley Cove on Lake Sebago. Hope you found time to enjoy the beach and and a campfire. I have used the word Tranquil but that is an understatement. Locals who come for repairs or deliveries are amazed to discover our beautiful quiet hidden area so close to town. The cabin has been in my family many years and I have enjoyed hearing the pleasure the few families I have allowed to rent enjoyed. Hope you took a trip up Hackers Hill for a beautiful sunset.

About the host
Hosted by Cynthia Gerke
After updating cabin I rented for a short time with Vacation Rentals. Fortunately I have been able to enjoy it for a few years. I only rent a few weeks for expenses . The rest of season I enjoy sharing with friends and family. I enjoy hearing how restful, beautiful, Tranquil, and all the work we did are appreciated. When my Long Island grandson was 9, fishing from dock, swimming, boating, riding bike on dirt road in woods, he said " I want to live in Maine, it's so quiet, with clean air. I am in 80s, live in MA but Father was part of large Maine family.
Why they chose this property
The cabin belonged to my brothers family and I fell in love with the quiet relaxing time I had on my visit there. When he passed I wanted to keep it in the family but needed to rebuild As a 3 season property it is my escape from city life from April till Oct. love the quiet spring, summer season and fall with the changing leaves. I canoe, swim, read, sometimes use big Waverunner or build sandcastles with great, great nephew and nieces. We now play croquet and other games instead of TV.
What makes this property unique
Sebago is the second largest lake in Maine (11 mi by 7 mi) and has a depth in places of 316 ft. Frye Island located in the lake has many homes and a golf course ( one of many in NE built by my Dad). It can be reached by your boat or car Ferry located near the end of Raymond Cape Rd. Tallwood is located in quiet Dingley Cove off Raymond Cape Rd. While others enjoy boating fishing, jet skiing, diving in the lake and, going to Frye Island for ice cream or traveling the 40 miles of waterway from Lake Sebago to Long Lake and Brandy Pond via the Crooked River, I enjoy swimming, sitting around a camp fire, sitting at the beach reading a book, taking a walk , taking my guests to Hackers Hill, the Sebago Locks and Naples. An outing can take you to Old Orchard Beach, Oxford Casino. Naples Causway, LL Bean, Cabalas and Freeport shopping.
