CASA ESPERANTO beach house in Las Tunas beach, ( 15 minutes by car/ bus south from Puerto Lopez ) is the perfect getaway spot for family, friends, and surfers. Built-in 2012 and just 40 meters from the beach this beautiful property offers
- 2 large bedrooms, the capacity of 8 -10 people total
- 2 x shared bathrooms with shower and hot water
- as well as a fully equipped kitchen and dining room.
What’s more the property also has two large balconies (14x3 mtr) with a sea view, perfect for enjoying some ‘tranquillo’ time in our hammocks.

4 hours from Guayaquil… house is located in stunning Las Tunas a sleepy village in the heart of the Manabi province: just 30 minutes drive north of famous surf/party destination Montañita and 15 minutes drive south of Puerto Lopez famous for whale watching (June-September), hiking expeditions to Isla de la Plata and the captivating Machlilla National Park. And if you love surfing or are looking to learn, Las Tunas offers the perfect spot with nice beach breaks just in front of the house and a number of surf-spots a short ride away.

*Please note this is a very quiet and safe place, perfect for relaxation and adventure but close enough to neighboring party towns should you want to party. The Ecuadorian owner also has a hostel in Montanita should you want to discuss party options.

Linen, towels and mosquito nets provided weekly and what’s more we are very proud to offer the services of Alina a maid living in the local community. We have developed a unique relationship with Alina who is available to clean, cook for you for a small extra fee. Be sure to ask for jugo de maracuya (passion fruit) a favourite with past guests.Alina can also provide a laundry service for guests as well as help with supplying food for the house.

important note : As we explained the house is 45 mts aprox. from the beach ( a block away or second line ) it is not a FRONT BEACH HOUSE, if you are looking for a complete ocean view with nothing else than just the ocean, you would need a front beach house then, refers the pictures, that show the ocean view from our balcony =)

the house has in the backyard a small slope, that is 7 meters high and offer a amazing complete ocean view , highly recommended especially in sunset days =)

Jorge loves nothing better than travelling all over the world, exploring and learning about new cultures. His backpacking expeditions have taken him to many countries in Europe and South East Asia. On surf trips to Indonesia, The Philippines, France, Spain, and Central & South America, Jorge has extensively researched into what makes a truly outstanding adventure holiday. It’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it!
Since 2011, Jorge runs a successful beach hostel (Esperanto Hostel) in the Ecuadorian surf town of Montañita. Esperanto Hostel has been awarded Certificates of Excellence by Tripadvisor for the last consecutive years. Lonely Planet also chose Esperanto as the Green & Sustainable option in Montañita and a 2015 Green Leader TripAdvisor Award. Following the success of Esperanto Hostel, Jorge founded Take Me To Ecuador tour operator based in Sweden and opened a sister hostel, Casa Esperanto, in the nearby village of Las Tunas.
After completely falling in love with Scandinavia on a visit in 2010, Jorge set up a home in Sweden, where he lives for several months of the year. Not put off by the somewhat chillier water temperatures, Jorge is a member of the Swedish Surfing Association and Surfride Foundation Sweden.

i have been visiting this community since 2000, for 12 year, then when i felt in love with a swedish girl ( i met her close from here) never tought i was going to make that beach i used to visited everysingle weekend now my home, so i got the land and then i built the house, but there is so much more story behind the house

As i own a hostel in a beach town close from there, i was looking for that ying-yang armony , and las tunas is the perfect place some guest said once " this place is CALM BUT DYNAMIC " and it is, located so close from the Adventure Hub as Puerto Lopez and in the south with MOntañita beach town ( surf, party , good , gastronomic place ) , we are in the epicenter from the best the ecuadorian coastline can offer you

What makes this property unique

Casa Esperanto, is just 40 metres from the beautiful sandy beach of Las Tunas in the Manabi province of Ecuador. With stunning views of the ocean and the mountains, the house is set in a large tropical garden with papaya, bananas, mango and coconuts plants.

Here, you can check the surf from the balcony before paddling out, rinse off at our garden shower under a palm tree. Chill in one of our many hammocks. Harvest your own coconut, barbeque the freshest fish. Sip sunset cocktails on the balcony as the fragrance of exotic flowers drifts on the breeze. As the light fades, tune into the chorus of crickets and frogs which joins the never-ending sound of breaking waves.

Built by local people using local materials, Casa Esperanto is simple and stylish, with whitewashed walls, warm wood accents and a traditional palapa roof. Eight guests can be accommodated in two big dormitory-style rooms with comfortable bunk-beds, mosquito screens, fans & air conditioning, security boxes and plenty of storage. A gigantic 14mx3m polished wood balcony is a focal point of the house, with a deck of equal proportions opening on to the garden. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, with a huge wooden table for family-style dinners. Both bathrooms are big enough for cocktail parties, with plenty of hot water! The house is kept clean, well maintained and secure at all times.
sometimes the AC could not working properly due the salty environment) in that case we will notify in advance , but from May to middle of December the 98% of our guest do not use AC or Fan due the temperature are really fresh at the night and the day, the House has high ceiling so keep very good temperature inside
