This property is situated on the main road into Stowe and is within walking distance to a Dunkin Donuts. The home was very charming and worked out very well for 5 old guys on a ski trip. The beds were very comfortable too. The only downside was mother nature not cooperating as temps were very warm during our week. We would definitely consider staying there next time.
Very cozy-feeling, clean property. There is only one main heating unit for the common areas and three upstairs bedrooms, so I recommend bringing slippers if you're visiting in the chillier months!
Our family, 6 adults, 2 teens, loved our stay. This place has such character with hints of it's 100 years. Brand new floors, walls, fixtures.... the bathrooms are roomy and modern. Kitchen is fully stocked with room for our cooks. The location is perfect for the hiking we came for. Each bedroom has its own AC unit which buffered road traffic noise.
Upon arriving, the property was easy to find, clean, and accurate compared to online listing photos. The house was well stocked, kitchen had plenty of dishes and there were bath towels for everyone. The property was close to town and easily accessible to hikes/ swimming areas. Unfortunately, we ran into issues with the main breaker tuning off power to the house a few times during our stay. However, we had good communication with the owner and the issues quickly fixed. Additionally, it would have been nice to know that there was a mother in law suite attached to this unit, there was minimal noise crossover though. Overall, we liked our stay and enjoyed out time here in Vermont!

Thank you for your feedback.
Unfortunately for everyone, there were bad weather while during your stay and that is what caused the issues with the electricity. Unfortunately we have no control over the weather and how the electric company deals with the outages.
We also changed the wording in our home description to make it even more clear that there is a totally separate mother-in-law apartment that is attached to the main house. But as you mentioned, it doesn’t share any common walls from the living area.
We try to give all our guests a great experience on all level and make sure communication is a priority.
We were underwhelmed when we first saw the property because we had paid a lot for it (New Year's week). It is on a busy road and situated quite close to the road. It is run- down on the outside and is attached to another unit that is also rented out. BUT it was plenty warm - both upstairs and down and the inside has been lovingly restored. It was a little tight for 7 adults and 2 children, but still quite comfortable. The nicest features were the bathrooms! Large and modern! And the kitchen was more than adequate and well stocked. The bedrooms were small but fully functional. Decent location - two ways to get into Stowe and only a 5-10 minute drive. The owners were VERY responsive which is a huge positive. We tripped a circuit breaker and they called right away to instruct us how to fix it.

HI Beth, I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed when you showed up at the house. The price you paid was higher because our pricing is set on the demand and since you stayed with us during THE busiest week of the year in Stowe, being prime time for Christmas, anywhere will be more dollars during that week. As you noticed, we were in the process of redoing the exterior of the house when you came. Since the snow showed up earlier this year and a lot more than expected ( which was great for skiers;)) we were unable to finish the renovations. With that said, the whole house will have a whole new exterior to match the whole new interior if you decide to stay with us again. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us in the end. Thank you!
