This home has a beautiful view and it is definitely secluded among the trees and wildlife. It is a very quiet and peaceful location with stunning views of snowcapped mountains, valleys with elk, and amazing sunsets. Comfortable home with everything that you would need. Scenic drives to see the changing leaves, visit quiet towns, or hitting the sought after tourists spots. Great for a couple getaway, friends reunion, or family adventures. Loved it here!

The property was great. We loved the log home with fireplace and the beautiful views. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you needed to cook a good meal. The beds were comfortable and had lots of good pillows. We saw elk most mornings and evenings from the living room and deck area. Heather was very helpful and responded well to any questions I had. Her guide was helpful and gave good ideas for fun adventures. We really enjoyed the home and would to stay there again one day.

Everything was perfect. First, the home itself is amazing and the views are breathtaking. The beds are extremely comfortable. Everything you would need to cook with is in the very well appointed kitchen. Probably one the best vacation rentals we've ever stayed in.

Susan, I can't thank you enough for your kind feedback! I'm so glad you and your husband were able to come visit Colorado's San Juan Mountains. I loved hearing about your success with trout fishing at Morrow Point and the fox and fawn you saw on the property. Thanks also for my favorite new phone wallpaper of the doe in the yard. I hope the remainder of your summer is full of equal parts relaxation and adventure! With appreciation, Heather

A wonderful vacation

It was one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. The sunsets were spectacular and the location was ideal for fishing, hiking, or anything you want to do outside! It was a beautiful home and the host, Heather, was so attentive and helpful. We are grateful for her opening her home to us! We highly recommend this home and would love to be back soon.

A Weekend to Remember

What a memorable stay! Not only were the house and surroundings stunning, but we also stayed here the weekend I proposed to my fiancée. And we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay at afterwards: the main room was welcoming with incredible views of the valley below, there were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms (emphasis on the shower and tub setup upstairs), and the whole spot had a rustic yet homey feel throughout. This was a really special weekend made even better by this beautiful house!

Amazing home with gorgeous views

We had a fantastic time in this house which is set in a remote location with breathtaking views of an expansive valley. Inside the house, everything is decorated with taste and recently renovated. It is a good location to explore Black Canyon National Park and Curecanti National Monument. Heather the host was super helpful and responsive. Overall one of the most stunning houses we ever stayed at.

Family getaway

We were looking to adventure near Ouray but we’re not able to find a beautiful location that fit our budget. This cabin was amazing. Spectacular views and just a beautiful cabin all around! Quiet, away from everyone and everything we loved the seclusion. Private lakes near by were nice. Security patrol was nice to see too. Lots of wild life and super nice owners! Definitely worth the drive if you want to getaway from it all and relax! Will definitely be sharing with our friends and family!

Many thanks for your kind review, Dan! I am so excited that you and your family found the property to be a comfortable home base for activities in Ouray (we did the via ferrata recently and had a great time). I'm glad you were pleased to see the security patrol; I agree that it's nice having them present in the community. Please come back any time you are planning future adventures in the Blue Mesa area. Thank you again for choosing us and sharing a bit about your experience!

The cabin was gorgeous and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and the view was breathtaking! Each morning we would look for the marmot to lay out and warm up on his rock over on the hill. Saw a spruce grouse family and a buck on the way out one day. We drive down to Silverton on the Million Dollar highway and did Box Canyon in Ouray and another day we went into Telluride, rode the Gondola, walked around and had lunch. It was so nice to have down days in between our trips to play game, puzzles and cards and admire the beautiful scenery. We honestly couldn't think of one thing to the make this place more perfect!

Fabulous cabin with gorgeous view

We loved this property! Our family of 4 (2 adults & 2 teens) enjoyed the beautiful view and the wildlife in the yard. The cabin is about 45 minutes from the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and a few minutes longer from Montrose, but the drive is well worth it because you have a great cabin to stay in, a gorgeous view, and privacy. It’s a great place to spread out at the end of a long day of hiking and sightseeing. The cabin is as advertised and is very well equipped - the kitchen has everything you will need to make meals. Heather was really easy to work with during the reservation process and checked in with us to make sure we were doing well and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this cabin if you are visiting the area. We would definitely stay again.

Best VRBO experience our family has ever had

I can't recommend this property highly enough. The cabin and the area are just stunning. The 2 bedrooms with king beds are spacious and comfortable; the upstairs bathroom has his and hers toilet rooms, a gorgeous shower, and a bathtub with amazing views. The bonus bedroom is smaller but still very comfy. The kitchen is well-stocked; there is a restaurant nearby at the Arrowhead Lodge (live music on weekends!) but since the closest town is fairly far away we appreciated the kitchen and cooking equipment since we mostly ate at the cabin. The owner is a great communicator and sent everything needed to find the property and to make the most of the area. She responded quickly to questions and provided thoughtful touches in the cabin including 3 sets of binoculars, hiking poles, a picnic backpack, and fishing gear for guests to use. When the instructions say to watch for wildlife and to take bear precautions, believe it! We saw a black bear about 1 mile from the cabin, 20 feet away from our car. We saw deer every day, marmots, sage grouse, and many, many wildflowers. Favorite activities were renting a UTV from Arrowhead Mountain Adventures, Black Canyon Nat'l park, driving over Owl Creek pass, and a day trip to Ouray. We also enjoyed just watching movies and thunderstorms together or playing some of the many board games. When teenagers say it was one of the best trips ever, that really says a lot. Our family plans to return next summer and we're planning it out already!

Susan and family, Thank you so much! We are thrilled and honored that you chose to spend a 10-day summer getaway at our place in Cimarron. It sounds like you designed a terrific itinerary to explore the area and hit some places that I would love to visit soon, like Ouray, aka the "Switzerland of America." Thanks also for inquiring about upcoming availability - we will be making some landscaping improvements in mid July and would love to have you back sometime to check them out. Take care, I hope you have a fabulous rest of your summer season!

This property was truly spectacular! The views from the living room and deck are like no other and there is even a swing outside to enjoy them from. The wildlife in the community was also very abundant, we seen dozens of mule deer and even seen a black bear! The house was very well kept and had all of the necessities. Heather (the host) was awesome and was very timely with communication! Overall a 10/10 stay!
