Beautiful Camp!

We loved the Birches. Spacious log cabin great for families, well appointed kitchen, nice wood burning fireplace with wood on site for renters! Loft with kids games and a cozy finished basement which they enjoyed having space away from the adults. Steps to Loon Lake with easy snowmobile access to and from the trail system. The access road and driveway to the property was tight and the plowing could have been better for parking, a heads up if bringing more than 2 vehicles in the winter. We would highly recommend this camp to other renters!

We recently stayed at this property for several nights and overall had a really good experience. The place was clean, well-maintained, and matched the description accurately. The kitchen was stocked with the essentials and we had plenty of room to relax by the fire. A very pleasant stay!

Birches

The house is spacious and quite nice. Very comfortable. Kitchen was nicely appointed. Homeowners may need more money spent on clearing and maintaining grounds-not just for aesthetic, but safety. There are animals on that small lake. Trust. Further, it may help to cut back on the prevalence of spiders and bugs. Also, the house was relaxing and had beautiful views. Good feeling throughout. But the basement stairs are treacherous. The beautiful log stairs should never be taken unless totally barefoot and stair lights on. I'm naturally clumsy and love a good wedge,so I accept responsibility there. But,the the stairs need to be addressed or just changed. Lastly, should def provide a gas grill. Tbh,it is less risky than the charcoal that was far too hot and far too close to greenery. Grilling is a part of vacation and that grill just was unpleasant and difficult. Overall, it was a lovely stay. The water was beautiful, the neighbors were great and the atmosphere and vibe was perfect. The folks at Morton and Furbish could not have been kinder nor more accommodating. They actually brought in 2 new TVs for bedrooms because I mentioned sleeping to background noise! They provided an abundance of fans, etc. The staff at Rangely Adventure were stellar. Those toys made the stay a blast and they were wonderful. Couldn't recommend both businesses more. Overall,a nearly perfect stay at the beautiful Birches and very appreciative for memories we made. Thank you all so much. ❤️

The best!

The birches is one of the best rentals that we've ever stayed at. It's so clean and comfortable and the location cannot be beat. You feel like you have the lake to yourselves yet you're only 10 min from town. I can't wait to go back!

Classic & Elegant

Birches was exactly what we were hoping it would be, based on the photos and guidance from Morton & Furbish. Clean, quiet, private, lovely furnishings, decent (but quite firm!) beds, gloriously equipped kitchen, plenty of comfy seating. We definitely would recommend it, and hope to return some day.

A Little.Slice of Heaven

A gorgeous, spacious, home on Loon Lake. Loon lake is peaceful, beautiful and pristine. The property is private with a nice dock. The house has a fabulous kitchen as part of an open floor plan. It is well-equipped and maintained. Four bedrooms and three full baths allow for eight people plenty of room. This well-worth the money.

Wonderful property

The Birches is a beautiful log home with all of the amenities a modern family needs. It is also very private and on the edge of a large wilderness area. For those who love nature, but also prefer many of the creature comforts. We have returned to the Birches several times and highly recommend it for a perfect family vacation.

Peaceful, serene, tranquil, everything we wanted in a vacation. The house was immaculate and comfortable, the kitchen was great. We rented kayaks and bikes and enjoyed the lake, and the trails. We saw moose, loons, hares, squirrels, chipmunks and lots of hummingbirds. My favorite thing was just sitting on the covered porch, listening to and watching the loons and the hummingbirds.

we love birches

My family has enjoyed many a stay at Birches through the years. Both summer vacations and ski weekends. For us, it has been a terrific rental. Some of the reasons why: beautiful Loon lake (great swimming, quiet, private, wonderful nature), lovely home with plenty of room, and a well appointed kitchen. There are trails for biking, hiking and walking. And, well, the loons of course - they are quite something. Morton and Furbish provided excellent service particularly during a time of global pandemic. We would fully recommend this property.

Beautiful Home

Our first trip to Rangeley Lakes area. Birches is a private beautiful home on Loon Lake. The house is appointed very well and immaculate . The upscale kitchen has EVERYTHING you could ever need, this was a plus as we enjoy cooking. There was plenty of wood for the fire pit at night. We brought our canoe and kayaks which were easy to put in at the dock. Our group of 7 adults were very comfortable at Birches. We feel it is important to point out that the only grill is a small Weber coal grill. We prefer charcoal grill so this was fine, however it could have been a bit bigger. Also our biggest disappointment was the mattresses in ALL rooms were so hard and uncomfortable. Our son slept on the couch 2 nights and our daughter contemplated doing the same. This was surprising due the the fact that the home is so nicely appointed in all other aspects. For this reason we sadly would not return to Birches. We would have given 5 stars otherwise. OWNER RESPONSE We appreciate all your kind words about the Birches. We will be purchasing new mattresses for all the beds as well as suppling a larger charcoal grill. Thank you for your feedback.
