Lamplight House - Quiet Beauty Close to ALL Downtowns!

Modern, updated house, centrally located and right by Royal Oak, Ferndale, Warren and Birmingham and short drive from Detroit. Close to major expressways (696/I-75) so easy to get anywhere in the south east Michigan area. [Quick Note: if inquiring for a booking less than 5 nights, please do an inquiry first NOT a request to book, thank you]

If you care about getting high quality rest during your vacation this is the house! Let me give you the rundown:
- Second Floor - 2 HUGE bedrooms with 1 1/2 baths, King Bed with 50" LCD TV in one room, Queen Bed with a 46" LCD TV in the other, the beds are AMAZING. The rooms are so spacious that I added a sofa sleeper and an air mattress for a total of 4 possible beds on the second floor.
- First Floor - 2 medium sized bedrooms (queen and full) with a full bath.
- Kitchen/Dining room - Everything you need for your cooking needs with newer stainless steel appliances and even though it's on the smaller side it can expertly fit 8 people on the table.
- Living Room - New High quality, comfortable leather furniture with a 55" LCD TV.
- Backyard: Picnic table with shade provided + Gas BBQ Grill!
- Neighborhood: Family oriented, safe and quiet, quiet enough to take a nice jog and close enough to all the nightlife around southeast Michigan, a small drive away to all the popular downtowns to enjoy the nice restaurants/bars/theaters. No event held in southeast Michigan is to far for this location.

>> Cable: We don't provide cable but our TVs have Roku to watch movies, live tv, shows, etc.

- I require my guests to fill out and sign my online contract (website allows me to access your email only after the booking is completed) but a few very important things to note in the contract:
> 100% No Parties
> Only registered guests are allowed in the house, any visitors need approval
> Maximum of 3 cars
> Quiet hours 9pm to 9am, after 9pm all activity is inside the house.
> If booking read the contract/house rules carefully
> There are monetary penalties for breaking important rules
> There are 2 outside cameras facing the driveway

Oak Park Vintage Gem

In the heart of everything, a traditional 2 up 2 down, extremely clean Detroit bungalow with plenty of room for the 6 Adults and 2 kids during our stay. Neighborhood very quiet and no concerns for safety at any time. Loved the beds that are so very comfy and upgraded linens. I will rent from Roy again, anytime we are in the Detroit metro area. Perfect location

We rented this house for a youth bowling event. This house was centrally located to all major highways, allowing us to be close to all bowling alleys. The house was very clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. The neighborhood was safe, and very quiet. Although we never met Roy, he reached out a few times to check in to see how things were going. Thanks for everything Roy. We'll be sure to keep you in mind if we have need to return to the Detroit area.

Very comfortable home in a lovely neighborhood with lots of amenities and plenty of space for storage and lounging around. Close to the highway and convenient to downtown attractions. Beautiful and well functioning kitchen but a tad light on cooking supplies, so be sure to inventory what’s there when you arrive so you can buy whatever you may need. Our group was there for the marathon and it was an excellent home base. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

I could not be happier and more impressed with this place! Roy is a super host and goes out of his way to ensure his guests are comfortable and happy. His attention to detail is unmatched. The house was spotless and well furnished. The charm of this house and the quiet and beautiful neighborhood fit our needs perfectly! Just minutes away from the hustle & bustle of downtown, yet a few blocks from everything you’d need. Roy is a remarkable host and treats his guests like family. Loved sitting in the backyard and cooking our meals on the provided bbq grill. I will most certainly stay here again on future trips to the Detroit area.

The perfect home away from home

This property was everything we could have asked for and more for the few days we were in town. The place was clean, organized, and absolutely gorgeous. Great property in a nice neighborhood

This was a perfect place for our foursome to get together. The house is laid out perfectly. The two bedrooms in the top floor are almost like two separate suites and very comfortable. It's location was quite central to the things we wanted to visit on our trip. I would certainly recommend this place, I thought it was very classy. I'd would like to return (perhaps in the summer)!

Great Place

This is the second time staying in one of Roy's houses. Like the first, it was truly a fantastic place to stay. Roy's philosophy must be treat all guest like they are staying in a five star resort and take it up a notch. The place was comfortably furnished and had everything you would need for a pleasant stay...including a bottle of wine to welcome you! The place was sparkling clean and in a quiet neighborhood, but close to everything you might want to visit. Plus, Roy is always willing to give you his "only locals know" tips to make sure your stay is perfect. Stay here and you will not be disappointed.

Comfortable beds, clean kitchen with modern appliances. Largest house on the block. Garage which we had access to with BBQ grill. Three nice high def T.V.s, Great upstairs add-on renovation with 2 large bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. Thoughtful ammenities throughout the house. Great location for us. Roy made it easy to get in touch with him for any needs we may have. Would definitely rent this house again.

Here to enjoy family time for the holidays. Grandma, Grandpa and family of four. Beds are VERY comfortable, room for everyone, towels thick. Owner generous in leaving supplies. Paper towel, Kleenex, toilet paper. Left drinking water in frig. Washer and dryer were clean and worked great. Perfect to use when traveling with a two and four year old. We would stay in this house in the future for family trips.

This location as advertised! Great property for the six of us during Christmas with extended family. Location is excellent for trips to and from Metro Airport as well as convenient to Royal Oak and downtown Detroit. Comfortable living and kitchen areas, bedrooms have a lot of space & storage. Adorable little home, with every amenity

We had a wonderful stay at the property. We traveled with an 8 month baby and there was plenty of room for her to play. Four large bedrooms were perfect for the adults, beautiful kitchen and bathrooms. Traveled in winter months so did not do many out door activities. Roy left many little extras that made our stay so comfortable! Would stay here again for future visits!

We had 6 adults, on business. The home was located in a nice quiet neighborhood, close to freeways. Kitchen was equipped with quality cookware, furniture was nice, simple, comfortable beds. The space was perfect for our group, with laundry available and plenty of bathroom space. Roy was very helpful, available and communicative. We will definitely be back! =)

Lovely, Clean, and Spacious

I booked this property for my parents and family (8 total) who were staying for a 4 day weekend for my wedding. The house sleeps 8 very comfortably and right off the bat I was impressed with the cleanliness. It is spacious enough that all 8 people could fit in the living room or sit around the dining room table. Pots, pans, dishes, silverware were all available which was perfect bc my parents wanted to do some light cooking. Neighborhood is quiet and is very close to highway 696. Roy, the owner, was very prompt in responses and even stopped by to help us "check in" on the first day - super nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this VRBO property and would rent again!

Comfortable and quiet!

Very nice home. It is in a quiet neighborhood, close driving distance to many attractions. Comfortable beds, nice TVs, nicely decorated. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. We travel to Michigan often, and this is the first time we've stayed here, but we hope it won't be the last!

What makes this property unique

Awesome beds! Get a lot of compliments about them, this is one of the things that I had very clear when I started this business, my guests have to have a good night sleep, apart from the 4 awesome beds also have a sofa bed and a quality air mattress so in total 6 beds! Also 2 1/2 baths come in very handy when having a big group. The 2 big bedrooms have 50" LCD TVs for those TV junkies!
