Great updated house that's close to everything. Very comfortable house with nice beds. Communication with Todd was easy and quick. It was a great home base while we celebrated the holidays with family. Highly recommend.
This home was perfect for our visit. Nicely remodeled home, in a great central location. We were able to be centrally located for visits with family and friends between Clinton and Urbana. We will definitely look to stay at the Red House on future visits to the area.
Me and my family just needed some place to stay while my son and my nephew were wrestling in champagne for state. We ended up loving this little house and all its character uniquely decorated very clean easy to access in a cute little town.
The Red House is a beautiful place to stay! We loved the location close to the downtown! It was very clean. The beds were comfy and there was plenty of hot water for showers! The kitchen had all of the kitchen utensils that we needed to cook meals. The large dining room table held us for meals and then games! The host responded to questions almost immediately! We will definitely book this again!
My wife and I stayed for a few days to visit Allerton Park. The folks in town were all extremely friendly. The businesses were attentive and provided great service.Todd, the property owner, was amazing to work with. He was attentive to our needs and responded quickly when I had a question. The property is incredible. Well preserved, it is updated just enough to have what we have become accustomed to while maintaining the elegance of a late 19th century home.Would recommend.
The Red House is just as depicted! The beds were super comfortable, and everyone appreciates a heated bathroom floor. The house is a block away from the business area and walkable to several restaurants. I was there for a reunion weekend, and we used it as a central location for those activities in addition to others such as a visit to Allerton Park. I would recommend the Red House to those visiting the town or participating in events at the University of Illinois (c.25 minutes away).
My elderly father, my brother, daughter, and a couple spouses (six in total) travelled to Monticello to attend my Aunt’s funeral. We found the red house could accommodate us and we could all be together.
For a family walking down memory lane, this house felt like it added to the experience with Its history.
The beds were very comfortable, and the place was furnished beautifully, and very clean. Overall we had a wonderful stay. We loved how convenient it was to the square and we were able to easily walk to restaurants and for groceries.
We had a couple modern technical issues but the owner was very responsive and helpful, and we worked through them. We would book this house again for a family trip. You won’t regret choosing the red house!!!
