Purgatory Resort home-2 minute walk to ski/plaza- NO resort fees!

This beautiful home is 150 yards to the lifts and plaza - Purgatory Resort (formerly Durango Mountain Resort)

Our stand-alone home has spectacular views all around.

The deck or the balcony is a great place to just relax and enjoy the views or maybe even some wildlife with your family and friends.

In the winter, the horses that pull the sleighs come right by the house and go down to the resort.

Balcony House features 3 bedrooms with queen size beds.

The master bedroom is huge with its own bath and a large walk-in closet. It is located on the main floor. Also on the main floor is the very spacious open concept kitchen, dining and living rooms. The balcony is off the living room and there is a gas bbq on it.
There is also a guest bath located just off the kitchen.

The 2 guest bedrooms are located on the entry floor. There is a full bath on this floor, a family room with a wet bar and great views, a gas fireplace, and a TV. This floor also leads out to the heated garage.

The top floor is a very large loft with 2 futons for relaxing and extra sleeping.

The house was perfect. Close enough to the lifts to walk and big enough for 10 college kids to stay comfortably. Big garage to park a car as well. Overall a great vacation!

Family Ski Trip

I've been coming to Colorado and New Mexico on family / group ski trips since I was a kid. This was a great place to stay and true to its description - the beds were comfortable, good size rooms and more than adequate "community" spaces in the kitchen, dinning room and living room. We had one or two [MINOR] snafus but the host was quick on response. Great place.

January Ski Trip

We had a great time staying at this location. The location is idea for quick access to the slopes! Having a garage was idea for storing items and a vehicle or two. This home has a nice small covered porch- perfect for the kiddos to have lunch or a hot cocoa between bouts of playing in the snow. Very nice stay.

Beautiful location!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay in Purgatory at this house. The location was perfect and and the views were beautiful. The house is close enough to Durango and very close to the Million Dollar Highway. The house slept 10 as mentioned (5 beds) but plenty of space to spread out. It was the perfect size for our group!

Perfect Ski Property

Stay was perfect. Very short walk to main lift at Purgatory. The property was exactly as described. Home was stocked well with everything you need plus some. Communication/responses from the owner was extremely quick. Winter views are amazing. Hope to stay here again in the future.

still an awesome spot and good for the family- it was a bit more dirty than last year and somewhat dated- firewood would be a huge addition. I had to do snow shoveling as there was frozen snow banks on the driveway with just a narrow strip for one car. nice heated garage! We would like to return next year unless the price goes up!

Great location, beautiful views, good space for a group but not clean.

Everythiing was good with the exception of the cleanliness of the property. Dishes were dirty, kitchen counter had food on it from previous guest, bathrooms were not cleaned. Overall the comfort level was not good because the property was dirty.

Purgatory getaway

location was perfect for all we wanted to do. House allowed us to have a good central spot. The one thing I will share is that the house itself needs to be deep cleaned. Carpets...windows. Hard to enjoy a spectacular view with dirty windows. Owner is nice. I did however appreciate having to haul off trash simply because it did not fit in cleaning service vehicle. I think sometimes the hospitality aspect of some these rentals are lost.

Nice but needs updating

The house was nice and clean, except for the kitchen was dirty, all dishes had a flim on them, the dishwasher was dirty, all the shelves for pots and pans dirty. 2 of the beds had sheets that did not fit. The house is very spacious just needs some updating. The couches were flat and hard, used the grill outside but it was also dirty very old.

Great house, but isn't kept up

Beautiful house, but not kept up. Booked for almost 1 week vacation with family. Disappointed that house was not the impressive experience that we expected. House was stocked with the very cheapest items, it was dirty and had multiple broken items throughout the house. We expected a different experience given premier host rating and price. I organized the vacation and was embarrassed that I chose such a poor option, especially for such an expensive price. List of issues included: Recliner broken Master shower and toilet extremely dirty Dishes dirty Coffee pot handle broken Silverware dirty and old Lamp shades dirty and broken Windows and floors dirty Kitchen faucet white, cloudy water and only works turning 1 way Sprayer broken in kitchen TV old, no connection to internet Burned out light bulbs in main bathroom Dirty toilet in master bath No throw blankets TV remote missing cover Dirty carpets with stains All entries piled with snow and not cleared

Property not as described

Upon arrival found that the internet was not hooked up. The dryer did not work properly and the laundry detergent pods were melted together from the heat. The recliner seat did not recline, the windows were filthy,the window would rollout however the crank for most of the windows was missing so we had to rotate them from one window to the next, 3 of the screens were laying on the outside lawn,the end tables and TV stand had not been dusted, the stove only had 2 burners that worked, the grill did not have any propane and the burner covers were completely dissolved. There was a BB hole in the upstairs bathroom over the toilet, There were very few pans to cook with, the downstairs bar area sink faucet only drizzled out and the pantry floor when you opened the door had food crumbs on the carpet. There were no paper plates, napkins or baggies to take yoour food home. The garbage cans after you took out the liner were disgusting, the remotes on the upstairs TV did not work and 1 of the bathrroms had no shampoo. This was supposed to be a great family get together however the accomodations were awaful. I would not reccomend this venue to anyone. I did speak with the owner on several occassions however there was never any responsibilty taken.
