Clean, cute, comfortable cottage! Our family including our dog enjoyed our relaxing stay - movies by the fire, hot baths, crafting at the kitchen table, and cooking good food. We had fun in the area - hiking state parks (Mount Jefferson and Rendezvous), National Park System Brinegar Cabin, Blue Ridge Parkway, Emerald Hollow Mine, Love Valley (horse only town) Christmas parade/ tree lighting, and a mead flight at Stardust Cellars (kid and dog friendly). Thanks!
Access to the house was easy, and the host provided clear directions. It is an older house so the floor is uneven, but otherwise renovated nicely. The bed was very comfortable. I didn’t realize the tub did not have a shower head when booking, which was fine, but might be a dealbreaker for some. Overall a great stay and would return if in the area.
Property was recently updated and it was a pleasure to spend time inside. The owner was communicative and the home met all my needs. Would consider a repeat trip if I visit the area again.

Check in was seamless. The interior is what we expected, clean and open. The neighborhood was "dicey", but we did not experience any negative neighbor inaction except one unleashed big dog.Check out was a little difficult, the electronic would not self lock, I had to used the key to lock the electronic mechanisum.

I’m sorry that you could not get the code door locked to lock when you left . Should you ever have any issues you should always reach out
As many others have stated, this property has been reno'ed, and it looks like the typical property flipper work. Gaps in flooring, unpainted trim ends, big globs of caulk as filler, etc. Based on wear and tear, it's probably been a couple years, though. So, thats the good stuff about this place. The not-so-good:1: That claw footed tub in the bathroom. It LOOKS great in photos, but not very practical for a full sized adult that just wants to get bathe quickly. There's plenty of space there, so recommend putting a tub/shower combo in that space, instead.2: The ridiculously small sink in the bathroom. Clearly, this is because of the space, but this is another example of a design choice that just isn't practical.3: 3 different kinds of shampoo, 2 different conditioners, 2 shaving creams, deodorant, tampons, adult diapers - but simple bar soap or shower gel for the tub? Nope.4:There's a counter top ice maker. The thing is not insulated, so even though we didn't use any ice, the thing constantly ran, since the ice would melt, and then recirculate in the system and make more ice. What a complete waste of electricity! Plus, since the neighborhood is so sketchy, hearing that noise all night long resulted in very little sleep. After the first time we knew what it was, but every time that thing would rattle, we were startled awake, wondering if someone was breaking in.5: Why is the bed and the tub side so high? My 5'-0" wife could barely get into either. 6: Floors EXTREMELY uneve

Thank you for sharing your feedback. While we appreciate all input, we do feel that some of your comments are inaccurate—for instance, referring to the provided items as “adult diapers” unless you are referring to the pads we offer for women, which are supplied for all guests as a precaution, since you never know what might be needed.
The bathroom features a custom-fitted, brand new sink, as well as a brand new tub. In fact, all the walls, ceilings, and flooring are newly updated. Please keep in mind, though, that this is a home over 100 years old, located in a historic neighborhood that has endured since the Revolutionary War era.
We have welcomed more than 150 guests to this unit and take pride in our thoroughness—it is always impeccably clean, as you did not mention otherwise. We appreciated your recommendations, and as a courtesy, we removed the icemaker and provided ice trays in the freezer for your convenience.
Installing a stand-up shower or a new bathtub is not a simple task in a century-old home. Our intent has always been to preserve the original character of the house while ensuring it remains beautiful inside, as you yourself noted.
The neighborhood is exceptionally safe and peaceful, as reflected in our reviews on other platforms. I am completely comfortable living here with my children. Please don’t judge the area based on residents’ wealth—some of the kindest and most respectful neighbors you’ll ever meet live on this street.

The guest left a poor rating after causing significant damage to my home. They broke the ceiling fan blades, smeared super glue throughout the house, and left trash scattered from one end of the property to the other. The situation was so severe that I had to contact support immediately. Additionally, the guests argued loudly with each other in the yard, disturbing my neighbors.
