About this property

Loren's Lookout- pet friendly, on the way to Yellowstone National Park

Welcome to Loren's Lookout, your mountain basecamp in the heart of the Wapiti Valley. Perfectly situated between the town of Cody and the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, this cozy cabin puts you right where you want to be for adventure and relaxation. Spend your days exploring the park, fishing the Shoshone, or strolling downtown Cody, then return to sweeping mountain views and peaceful valley evenings. Mule deer, whitetail deer, moose, fox, eagles, and even the occasional bison are frequent visitors to the area, reminding you that you are in wild Wyoming. Loren's Lookout is also dog friendly, so your four legged family members can join the adventure.
Inside, you will find a warm and welcoming space designed for easy family living. The comfortable living room invites you to unwind with a Smart TV and a full size sleeper sofa for additional guests (newly upgraded in 2026). The open dining area and well equipped kitchen with modern appliances make gathering for meals simple and enjoyable. The main level bedroom features a queen bed and generous closet space, with a step in shower just down the hall. Upstairs, the loft offers two twin beds and extra space to spread out, accessible by an indoor ladder or exterior upper level door. A washer and dryer add convenience for longer stays.
Step outside and take in the views from the large deck, fire up the gas grill for summer dinners, and enjoy Wyoming's famous dark skies with the provided telescope. Books and games make it easy to slow down and reconnect after a day of exploring.

*Please note the outdoor stairs going to the upper loft are steep and we do not recommend for small children. There is an indoor ladder leading to the loft.
*This cabin does not have air conditioning. Opening windows to let in the cooler mountain air at night will help keep temperatures comfortable.

This property has everything we needed! Laundry (including soap), a fully stocked kitchen, and comfortable space for us to spread out. And the views were amazing! Worth the longer drive to Yellowstone to truly feel like we got away from the crowds.

Perfect for staying on the eastern side of Yellowstone. The upstairs with the ladder access was a hit with our boys.

Great place to stay

Good for families of all adults or teens and adults, due to the upstairs having an outside entrance as its main point of entry. It was a great cabin in a great location

Quiet & Peaceful

Spent a quick weekend and enjoyed the quiet area and beautiful views. Clean and just enough space. GPS doesnt bring you to the right location but it is easy enough to find.

We loved our stay here! It was about as close to Yellowstone East Entrance as you can get while still having access to a gas station. It's also not far from Cody, WY, which has a grocery store and restaurants. Getting upstairs can be difficult if you have mobility issues/young kids and don't want to use the outside stairs, but my kids (8 and 11) loved using the ladder. There is no air conditioning, but we just left the windows open and the house really cooled down by the time we went to bed (we stayed there in late July). Overall, the company was amazing to work with and we look forward to coming back again!

Cabin

The property is older but very clean. The scenery from the cabin was beautiful. The only problem we had was the WiFi wasn’t working. This made it hard on those who don’t have unlimited minutes on their phones. Overall it was a good place to stay.

Quiet and peaceful

The property is as advertised. Nothing fancy but it certainly does the job. The view off the deck was great and the area was very quiet. Don’t plan on doing a lot of cooking in the small kitchen. The bed was comfortable and it’s only 20 quick minutes into town. There is no AC but as advertised opening up the windows cools it off nicely in the evenings

The location is very beautiful! One thing that we would have liked changed is the property is advertised as pet friendly, but the ground outsize is covered in cactus. Our dog got into it a couple times by accident, she could only walk on the two track which made exercising her hard. The cabin was well stocked in the kitchen. However, there was dust on the drinking glasses and the shower/bathroom wasnt very clean. The other note to add is if you want to get up to the 2 beds or washer/dryer upstairs your options are 1. Go outside and reenter the upstairs door or climb a 2x4 ladder behind the bathroom door. Managable, but not ideal. Overall, it was a good place to stay and the landscape beauty will take your breath away.
