'Independence River Cabin' will feel more like something out of a National Geographic Magazine - tucked away on 5.7 acres of big timber, private land. Enjoy a prime location just 65 feet from the awesome Independence River, with great views of the gentle rapids and pools from the covered deck.
This property is truly an all-season destination. Leaf peepers will love the colors in the fall, while horseback riders can trot through trails in the cool summertime. If you're here for the winter months, reach out about the snowshoes available.
Modern furnishings and rustic charm perfectly coincide in the cabin's interior. The decor is complete with great new furniture, log cedar beds, and a bar top island that will truly amaze you!
The kitchen area features all new appliances, a refrigerator, electric cook stove, microwave, and more. The pièce de résistance of the kitchen is a special 4-inch full tree slab converted to be the counters and an island.
During the downtime, unwind in front of the Smart TV or enjoy a romantic evening around the wood stove in the living area. All the comforts of home have been provided, including spectrum tv/wifi, unlimited wireless internet and electric heating for those extra cold days.
End each night on a sweet note with s'mores around the fire pit - best enjoyed with a guitar and your go-to campfire songs. Linger outside late into the evening, until the sound of the river lulls you into a dreamy state and you're ready to retire inside.
Two bedrooms offer accommodations for 5 guests, with additional space available on the twin bed in the loft.

This Property is bordering the Famous Otter Creek Horse Trails(hiker friendly). Adjacent to the western edge of the Adirondack Park to the east of Lake Ontario, south of Lowville in Lewis County are two public forest areas managed by the State Department of Environmental Conservation, (the DEC): the Independence River Wild Forest, and the Independence River and Otter Creek State Forest. There are arguably 65 wonderful miles of riding trails through these two adjacent wilderness areas. They are called the Otter Creek Horse Trails. The Otter Creek Horse Trails are a series of old sandy roads and wooded trails that traverse a beautifully diversified region, populated with wildlife. Once off the sandy roads, the trails wind their way along sand flats and through wooded areas, access picturesque glacial ponds, and have climbs that lead to fine river vistas. If you and your horse like water, the trails follow or cross the Independence River and no less than seven smaller waterways: Otter, Little Otter, Beaver Meadow, Chase, Burnt, and Crooked Creeks. All eventually flow into the Black River that continues on north into Lake Ontario. It's truly a beautiful area in any season of the year. Yes, even in winter.
Snowmobiling Paradise Access Lewis county trail system right from cabin, higher elevation here means more snow !

Hosted by Jessica K

Hello everyone! My name is Jessica, daughter of the previous owner and host of this family owned gem! I was born and raised here in upstate NY, and have many memories at this camp that I hold near and dear to me!
My joys in life are being outdoors, hiking in the Adirondack mountains is a summer/fall must in this area! I also love snowboarding, snowmobiling snowshoeing, boating on the St Lawrence River, exploring and traveling! My two dogs are my pride and joy, they keep me active and they LOVE coming to camp. Lots of swimming, exploring and sniffing for your beloved fur babies here at the Independence River!
I'm currently working as a registered nurse at Lewis County General Emergency Room, going on ten years of nursing now. Both my fiance and I are in the medical field and both of us have always wanted a close getaway cabin to relax and unwind together at. It is truly a perfect get away from the "noise" in our busy lives, and we hope you can find the same peace and serenity in this property as well.
