We really enjoyed staying here! The house was decorated beautifully with lots of antiques which added an extra charm to the place. Loved how easy it was to get to Acadia and bar harbor. Can’t wait to stay there again!
We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! The place was clean, cozy, and perfect for kids and pet. Great location near Acadia, spacious yard, and helpful host. Highly recommend for families.
Super well stocked kitchen. Wonderful place for our group to relax both inside and outside. Great location for exploring Acadia National Park and highly recommend dinner at Thurston’s down the road.
We had a wonderful stay in Rose Cottage! Everything was very clean, the owner responded promptly to any questions and the location was perfect to visit Acadia.

Very private and in a nice neighborhood. House was very clean and welcoming. Host was easy to reach and didn't hesitate messaging with any needed updates. Perfect for your little visit!
Our stay was awesome! The house was equipped with everything you could have needed and more! The host said we were welcome to anything in the kitchen pantry and any laundry supplies. The host texted us daily asking if we needed anything and was so gracious about information leading to our trip to Acadia National Park and local interests.
Cool house. Lots of space. The bedrooms were all connected on the top floor though so we definitely woke each other up for the bathroom and to go downstairs when the kids woke up or to let the dogs out.
Perfect for our family. A well stocked farm house with great outdoor space. Robbin is a very responsive host. You do have to walk through bedrooms to enter or exit and use the bathroom on the second floor. Great location on a quiet harbor on the quiet side of Mt. Desert Island.
Had a wonderful time visiting Maine. The location of this house is great. We enjoy the quieter side of things, it was so peaceful here. 30 minutes to anywhere on the island. 30 minutes to Texans is nothing and we got to see most all of the island. Deer in the yard at night. The house had everything we needed. Be mindful the upstairs has three nice bedrooms upstairs that are all connected. This was not an issue for us, it would be great with younger kids too. The host was very patient with my questions before we arrived and responsive. Would stay there again.
Renovated home with new appliances. Very comfortable space.
This is in a great location and the surrounding area is beautiful. Close access to Acadia National Park.

Thank you for staying and giving us great review! Host
This beautiful and extremely comfortable home is in the small and quiet village of Bernard. The house is very well stocked and provides an excellent night’s sleep. The wharf and an adorable library are just a 5 minute walk away. The house is 30 min from Bar Harbor and 10 minutes past SW Harbor but near delicious lobster, trails (Wonderland & Ship Harbor), and Bass Harbor Light House. The house is so welcoming and a great place to relax after a day of hiking and exploring.
We lived our stay in Bernard! The house was clean and updated! The tiny harbor town was quiet and quaint! We loved Thurston’s Lobster House and it was in walking distance. Close to the Park and trailhead’s! It was such a great place to visit!
Had a great time with extended family! Perfect location - close to everything on MDI. Loved the deck and fire pit area. Ended every day with s’mores. Everything was clean and well stocked. Plenty of dishes, towels, toiletries, etc. Be sure to walk down to Thurston’s for dinner one night!

Thank you for such a great review! Yes, must walk down to the Harbor for Lobster at Thurston’s!
Beautiful home! Layout is unusual in that you have to walk through 1 bedroom to get to the next. But, there are plenty of places to sleep. Robbin was a.great host. Backyard is great for roasting marshmallows, playing games, etc. Our family had a wonderful stay!
We had a great time staying here! The layout was a bit odd (some bedrooms required walking through other bedrooms for access) but that’s to be expected with a historic home.
Basic necessities in the kitchen (coffee, powdered creamer, seasonings) which was a nice bonus.
The location is close to popular trailheads at Acadia and Bar Harbor to make day trips a breeze. House was clean and tidy. Would absolutely stay here again!

Thank you so much for great review. Yes, the house is a historic home. We have totally updated the entire house down to the studs. We added the back staircase access to help with bedroom layout. The house sleeps 11 people great for family gatherings. We allow families to have parties of 25 or so for daytime events. The back yard and wraparound porch great party house.

The home was very nice. I would stay here again. My wife enjoyed the detailed attention to authentic New England decor. Very clean. There’s so much to do in Acadia, I wish we could have spent more time at the property enjoying the house and the comfortable outdoor space. Definitely recommend.
Robbin was a wonderful host. We came with 10 people spanning 3 generations and had a really comfortable stay. The kids loved the fire pit for s'mores. The kitchen was the bright and well-stocked center of our stay. Keeping some toys and books in the house made the kids happy. It's clear Robbin has spent time decorating the house and the location in proximity to Acadia was a key part of our decision in selecting this property as a base for our daily outings.
This place is great as long as you go in with the right expectations - the listing is not super clear that the 4 bedrooms upstairs need to be walked through to get to the last one (there are stairs leading down to the deck from the last one) - but we knew that going in from previous reviews. The biggest negative was that all of our showers we lukewarm. Otherwise it was nice and big with tons of places to sleep, and convenient to Acadia (and walking distance to Thurston’s).

Sorry about the water being lukewarm! We have the temperature set for hot water that’s set for rental properties in Maine. We have never had anyone complain in regards to temperature setting to prevent travelers being burned. We never received a call during your stay in regards to hot water temperatures setting. We have a plumber that would gladly check during your stay to make sure everything is working correctly. In future please let us know of any issues and we strive to make travelers happy! In regards to walking between bedrooms. The house is a historic home built before turn of century that has been totally updated. As far as the bedrooms we added another staircase onto the back for separate entry. Updating the home we could not change the original footprint. This home is great for large groups and 2 families traveling together. Twin beds downstairs and kids bunkroom upstairs. Master suite with separate entry for better privacy. When booking this property keep in mind it’s 100% updated brand new everything! Original part of house are the studs and the footprint. This home is a original Cape Style Home and is what travelers seem to expect when traveling to Maine for family vacation. 4 bedrooms with extra beds, fire pit, large outdoor space, grill, lobster pot, outdoor garden, TV’s in all bedrooms, large kitchen, large family room to play games or watch movie. Thank you for letting us know about hot water and will have checked immediately.

We stayed in this home for a few days mid-August to explore Acadia with our kids and dog. The location is beautiful - a quiet neighborhood right by the water. It was perfect for morning walks, and removed enough from the busy parts of the park but still accessible.
The house was well stocked with linens, towels and kitchen essentials. It is so cozy and restored to perfection with beautiful taste and attention to detail. Robbin was a delight. She was attentive and incredibly helpful with recommendations in the area. I only wish we could have stayed longer! We can't wait to visit again!
