Stay in a "bardominium." The Derecho House is a private living quarter within a shed. The shed was rebuilt after it was completely destroyed by a Derecho in 2022. Enjoy a cozy living room with two tv's, WIFI, and streaming. The kitchen is stocked with the essentials. Private bedroom with a sliding barn door. Enjoy the wide-open spaces and sounds of nature on a private patio with an overhang. Close to I-90 for easy access to Sioux Falls and Mitchell. Room for trailers and motorcycles to park too! Hunting dogs allowed in attached heated shed for an extra fee.

This was a wonderful place to stay. It was very close to where I grew up and a perfect place for us ex-farm people to revisit our roots without any of the hard work!! Hosts were great, I was very late in checking in because a previous engagement was running longer than expected. They were very understanding and accommodating . I have already recommended this location to friends and would definitely stay here again!

Stayed overnight for an event in Sioux Falls and we had everything we needed. Wonderful, quiet rural location. Very clean and great communication with host. Would definitely stay again if we are out that way.

The Derecho "Barndominium was So Great!

My sister and I were in the area for a family reunion and found this fantastic place to stay. It was perfect! The open area has a kitchen and living room, so great place to prep, cook and hang out. Separate bedroom and a comfy pullout in the great area allowed two nice sleeping areas. Bathroom is very nice and the entire place is clean and modern. We would definitely stay here again!

I couldn’t be more pleased with our stay at this property. We were pulling a trailer and debated between a hotel in Sioux Falls and making a small detour for this property. Boy are we glad we went this route. The property was clean and beautiful. We definitely will try to stay here again if we ever need a hotel off i90 and close to Sioux Falls!

All brand new. Full kitchen with full size stove refrigerator microwave. Dishes, utensils, pots, and pans all new. Since I was visiting friends in the area, the host allowed us to have them out for Sunday afternoon. Plenty of room for young children and their mother, grandfather, and grandmother they even supplied us with the tough game and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. This was a farm so there was ample room for the kids
