About this property

Engineer’s Suite - Historic Lakefront 2-Bedroom Cabin with Kayaking

Spend the night in a renovated historic train station!

Take in the lake with a historic twist at Siltcoos Station Retreat's Engineer’s Suite, the largest and most elaborately decorated cabin. This spacious 2-bedroom rental blends vintage railroad charm with modern comforts, offering a truly memorable stay on beautiful Siltcoos Lake.

Inside, you’ll find thoughtful period-inspired décor and antiques that honor the site’s past as a 1920s train station, including a clawfoot tub, antique stove, and unique vintage touches throughout. Sleeping spaces comfortably accommodates up to six guests with two separate bedrooms—each with an additional loft bed—and a day bed in the living area that converts to two twin beds, making it ideal for families or small groups.

The full kitchen comes equipped with everything you need to prepare meals, and large windows frame tranquil lake views while heavily insulated doors and windows help keep rail noise to a minimum. Complimentary Wi-Fi, a dedicated desk with a rolling chair, and inspiring lake views also make this cabin a great choice for remote work or creative inspiration.

Step outside to relax on your covered private deck with bistro seating, fire up the charcoal grill, or enjoy evenings around your propane firepit. Guests also have access to complimentary kayaks and canoes (first-come, first-served), plus easy access to the property’s marina, pier, docks, and boat launch for fishing or boating adventures.

Outdoor enthusiasts will love exploring nearby hiking trails, seasonal mushroom and berry foraging, and the Oregon Coast just a short drive away. The town of Florence offers excellent dining, shopping, waterfall hikes, crabbing, clamming, and charter fishing—making Engineer’s Suite the perfect base for adventure, relaxation, and unforgettable memories.

We had a terrific experience for two nights at this unique property. The view is unbeatable and my husband, who loves trains and antiques, was able to fully relax in a space that felt built just for him.

A quiet retreat for a golf outing.

Very much enjoyed the unique railroad history and all the special touches to the place. Loved the quiet; felt very relaxed. Didn’t get out on the water but did identify over a dozen song birds, swallows and woodpeckers on the site. Fun.

Absolutely wonderful! The room and the lake is the destination. No desire to go elsewhere for entertainment. The lofts are a fantastic idea. 5 of us in 2 bedrooms and we hardly noticed each other. Plenty of room. The antiques in the rooms are beautiful and they function! What an excellent experience!

Next Stop! Siltcoos Station

Had a great 3 day stay in the Engineer Cabin. Accommodations are clean and inviting with a great eclectic decorations. Able to relax, enjoy the location and plenty of time on the water in the kayaks. The owners were pleasant and informative, and the dogs will play the stick game all day! And the trains passing in the night were great.

A piece of Paradise

Siltcoos Station is charming, lovingly cared for, and the perfect place to get away from it all. The view of the lake from our cabin was breathtaking. We brought our boat with us and spent a couple of days exploring the lake and the area. Dan and his wife were gracious and responsive hosts, and their dogs were great company. They immediately made friends with our dog. I can’t wait to return!

A trip back in time....

If you're looking for a place that is steeped in history, this is the place! We stayed in the Engineer's Suite and enjoyed checking out and using many of the antique items. It was peaceful and relaxing and because of the distance from "city life", it was exactly what we needed. The doodles are great, well-behaved and once they checked us and our Lab out and approved our arrival, all was good! Thanks for providing such a relaxing getaway environment.
