Perfect place to stay for larger groups. The house has so much character and well stocked for cooking. Plenty of parking and so close to hockey, baseball and football. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The house was amazing!! If you are looking for a great place to stay in Detroit this is it! House was perfect and the communication was excellent!! I will definitely be back!
Beautifully restored historic property with modern amenities. Ideally located. Host promptly addressed any questions and clearly communicated. By far, my best VRBO stay to date
House was great for what we needed, everyone enjoyed it. Just noticed some cobwebs (large property, prob tough to keep up on dusting) and didn’t have ability to view photos of the entire property when we booked.
My kids and I had such a great time and experience on our trip. Jeffrey was very kind and welcoming and prompt with communication. Very cool house. Most comfortable beds I have ever slept in while traveling.
This is an impressive historical home with gorgeous oak details. The location is very convenient to the sports complexes, all within walking distance. We were in town for a family celebration, and the location made for a perfect gathering site. The property manager was very helpful! I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy visiting Detroit.
We loved our too short stay at the Whitney Mansion. It’s a beautiful home, so gorgeously renovated and decorated, very comfortable. We had everything we needed. Communication with Jeffrey was excellent, the beds and bedding were comfortable, and the location was perfect for so many things you’d want to do in Downtown Detroit. Although it was very warm the hvac system kept up, which is impressive for a house of this size. We would definitely stay here again.
What. A. Place. I'm convinced there is no cooler, comfortable, historic, and convenient place to stay in the whole city or metro area. We immediately called our babysitters upon arrival to tell them we would NOT be leaving in the morning, as we needed as much time as possible in this place. A top memory of our summer!
What a stunning mansion, would like to Jeff for allowing my family to experience this restoration. A ton of work was done to restore this place to its former glory. The space was very comfortable with many amenities, our pets had a blast too. A million thank yous to Jeff and the work he has done and continues to do.
Jeff’s place was great and the location in downtown Detroit could not be beat, especially if you are attending a sporting event. Jeff was a very welcoming and responsive host.
Group of four travelled to Detroit to watch the Lions home opener. Property was in a great location and an easy walk to the stadium and surrounding entertainment district. I would highly recommend this property to anyone attending and event at Little Caesar’s Arena, Ford Field, Comerica Park or and of the concert venues in downtown Detroit.
Jeff was an excellent host. Extremely responsive. Made our group of 4 feel very welcome. He provided a brief history of the mansion/Upper unit. The location was perfect for a short/safe 10 min walk to Ford Field. Comerica Park and Little Ceasars Arena are even closer. Walking distance to several restaurants and bars. The Whitney House Upper Unit had a lot of character, charm, plenty of space and was very clean. We will absolutely stay at the Whitney House again for our next overnight visit to downtown Detroit. All around great experience. Could not have asked for more.
Our family came to Detroit for an event at Ford Field. This home was perfect for us! The house was clean, beautiful & a very short walk to the arena. We felt safe in the area, the communication with the owner was above average, and we loved the architecture/history of the house itself. Parking at the house was really a bonus, as we had friends that had to park/walk quite a long way for the same event. The amenities were above average, we appreciated the coffee, garbage bags, paper towels, tissues, laundry soap, etc... its the little things... Thank you again for everything, we will definitely come again.
