About the area
Traverse City
Old Towne, a neighbourhood in Traverse City, is home to this holiday home. Shoppers can check out Front Street, while everyone can enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Michigan and Traverse City Beach. Great Wolf Lodge Water Park and Great Lakes Children's Museum are also worth visiting.
The property is very new and immaculate with a well stocked kitchen. The location is great and we were able to walk the 12 short blocks (through a lovely neighborhood) to Front Street. The Mercato was also within walking distance.Great place to stay.
Property is very clean. Nicely decorated. Sharp knives, fantastic spice selection. Very close to great restaurants and bars. Hard to get into. The step up to the door is too tall. Parking is limited. Overall, would stay again.Tall
Property was fantastic. Very pleased how clean and well stocked it was. Beautiful decor and nice it’s located close to downtown. Would recommend to anyone interested in a visit to the area.

Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
Pics are better than reality. Several nuisance issues -no shelves for toiletries in shower - laundry detergent in a bathroom due to no space near the machine. Sofas not holding up and the pillows are terribly hard like foam. A very rusted cast iron pan in the cabinet. The ice maker needed a cartridge replaced. Tons of spider webs above entrance. However, biggest issues were that this is backed up against a very loud and dirty alley. The noise was terrible from the business directly behind the unit which had multiple machines and saws going in the AM. The garbage trucks and traffic in the alley are loud and the alley area does not feel safe. It is not well kept and several buildings could be in severe disrepair or abandoned. The only way to enter the building is through the alley. The entry way to the actual space is not a regular height step. It is high with no rail so difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Someone from the mgmt company came over unnannounced to change a battery. If we were not there this person was going to enter without our knowledge. No access to the garage / parking to the side next to the alley. Let the property mgr know about the issues and they said had we told them they would have sent someone to fix. The last thing we want on vacation is staying to watch handymen and are not ok with people in space without us. Many of the small issues issues should have been addressed by team between guests.
My husband, my parents, and my 4 month old twins all stayed here for 2 nights while visiting family in town for the holidays. The primary bedroom was spacious, perfect for 2 pack and plays. The living area downstairs is also nice and open so we were able to put a playmat down with the babies toys and all hang out on the couch while watching TV and cooking. The unit was clean, modern, and comfortable. My only critique is that the bed pillows were a hard foam material and I would have brought my own if I knew. Overall, we really enjoyed our brief stay and hope to visit again for other family events up north.
We were only here for a short period of time but enjoyed it. The place itself was very nice, easy to get into, had every appliance we needed, etc. The only thing I'd recommend to future 'stayers' is to be sure and bring an eye mask for sleeping- the light comes in quite bright without blinds/curtains in the bedrooms. Also, the pillows were quite hard- would bring your own if possible. Otherwise, nothing but great things to say about this place and the host! We'll be back!
Our first rental of this type. We were blown away by everything and it was less expensive than renting 2 rooms at a fleabag motel up the road. Overall a great experience and would consider this again if we stay in the area. Everything we might have needed was included. It was hard to tell from the description and we did not know what to expect, but it included Linens, Bath Towels, Beach Towels, Coffee Maker and 2 packs of Coffee, Bath Soap and Shampoo, and more. We would have packed a lot lighter if we knew all that was included. The neighborhood is mixed light industrial and residential, but we did not care.
If we had more time, we would have extended our stay even longer.
My husband and I have been visiting Traverse for 14 years and have stayed in various locations. This is the first time we have tried VRBO and we were SO impressed with this property. It’s perfect for couples vacationing or a small family trip. It’s located near all the best attractions, it’s super clean, very nicely put together with the comfort of their guests in mind. 5/5 stars and we will definitely book this location again!
