Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
We booked this property for a family vacation with five children and were very disappointed with our experience.First, the living room TV did not work for our entire stay, which was extremely inconvenient, especially with young children. Second, we discovered there were cameras on the property that were not disclosed in the VRBO listing, only mentioned in the handbook after arrival. VRBO later confirmed to me that cameras must be disclosed in the listing itself. Not only were they undisclosed, but it became clear the owner was actively monitoring them for most of our stay and texted us multiple times based on what he was seeing. Had I known this, I would never have booked especially while traveling with my three-year-old daughter.We also experienced a hot water outage during our stay. The owner messaged us saying the additional golf cart being plugged in could be tripping the breaker. In good faith, we followed that guidance to restore hot water. Later, we were accused of violating the golf cart waiver, even though the signed rules simply state to “make sure to charge the cart when it is not being used” nothing about keeping it plugged in at all times.Between the broken TV, undisclosed and actively monitored cameras, and being blamed for following the owner’s own troubleshooting advice, this was far from the relaxing and private vacation we expected, especially for the price paid.
