I do understand why you would think that. But let me share with you what lead to the request for your ID. As you see below, we got an alert from HomeAway Payments that your payment was deemed high risk. For whatever reason, HomeAway payment could not verify your ID. When this happens, we may not get paid and if we do, and the payment turns out to be a fraud, we will need to refund the money. To prove to homeaway that the name on the reservation matches the guest who came, we asked for your ID as requested by HomeAway payments. I am aware you spoke to VRBO support, but HomeAway Payments (responsible for processing the payments) is a seperate arm of VRBO, so VRBO support may not be aware of the communication from HomeAway Payments. I will share other communication from HomeAway Payments to give you clarity on this matter. I encourage you to do your due diligence to be confident there was no scam intentions here.
