Perfect accommodations for our visit to family! This cabin is generally outfitted for living here with a well-outfitted kitchen, everything you need to enjoy the ambience and heat from the wood stove, and a very comfortable bed/pillows at days’ end. Plenty of towels, linens etc. The views out into the woods are lovely and restful. We intend to return when we next visit our family here. Highly recommended!

Peaceful and quiet

The cabin is perfectly located in the woods for peaceful relaxation. Host was prompt and had a fire going, lights on for a welcoming arrival at midnight.

"Delightful rustic cabin with WiFi in Alstead“ doesn't quite do this property justice, though all of those things are true. One can almost feel benevolent spirits lounging in the space, an artistic and analog time capsule of a family cabin with a pronounced connection to the secluded natural environment around it. The copied compact discs and muddled, low-fi dubbed tapes provided the evening soundtrack while we cooked in the well-stocked kitchen. Faded hand-written notes offer a few kind instructions to guests. We only had to look up the handle configuration of the pre-1995 Vermont Castings Defiant Encore wood stove to ensure safe use. The cabin served as my base camp to the Clarence DeMar marathon and autumn drives, but I hope to return someday just to pass more quiet time within it. It would make an ideal personal writing retreat. Thank you!

Super cute cozy cabin! Beds were very comfortable. Host was prompt in responding. Loft is probably not suitable for small children due to the railing (not that I was traveling with children). Road was well maintained, quiet rural property. Passed a farm market, maple syrup stand, cow farm, and historic mill on the way. Kitchen was well stocked with quality cooking equipment which isn't always the case in rentals. I was pleasantly surprised with the kitchen supplies - which is important since there isn't much in the way of restaurants in the area.It is a cabin in the woods, so if that's not your thing, pick something else but we had a lovely time and it fit our vibe!
