Great place

Beautiful new house with great lake views. Everything was clean and well stocked. Location was convenient and close to town. Host was friendly and responsive. We did not use our boat here, so can't say what the lake was like but it looked nice.

Beautiful Setting in the North Woods

Wonderful new cabin- Spacious with all the amenities. The best part for our group was the outdoor space, grill and lakeside seating areas. We are already planning to go back.

It was a very nice place and lovely location. With all the extra fees at time of reservation, I would just get 2 hotel suites next time for half the price. Communication/texts were odd and felt one way. I would answer the questions asked, but did not receive a reply to my question. There were no towels in the upstairs bathroom, but it had shower toiletries. The opposite was the case in the lower level bathroom. It had towels, but no shower toiletries. Was also thinking we could use the included amenities for free. There was an extra fee for fire wood (asked to leave cash on counter), as well as a fee for using the kayak (we chose not to). For the price, it just missed. Lesson learned.

Hi Jennifer Obviously you chose an Airbnb for its amenities of firepit and kayaks. The firewood is half the price you would pay for it elseware. Kayaks are charged a nominal fee compared to sports rental. We find guests drag the kayaks ( not lift ) therefore breaking the fins and needing costly repairs. Toiletries and towels are always sufficient in the cabin. You initially were a group of 6 but turned out to be 5. Perhaps a smaller cabin would have been appropriate and more affordable. Barb host.

This is a beautiful, new property, in a very quiet area on the lake. It sits back in a cove so there’s no boat traffic out front. We rented a pontoon boat while there and were able to park it at the dock. The house is supplied with everything you’ll need for your stay. We hosted a dinner for family at the house one night and we had everything in the kitchen that we needed to cook. I was able to book the house for the exact nights I needed. Many rental units in town are Sat to Sat. That doesn’t work when you have a family reunion to attend on a Sat. I enjoyed talking with the owner, who knows much of my family in town. I hope to return to this house every summer!

Our family are natives of Rhinelander and over a campfire discussion decided to share this sanctuary of Northern Wisconsin. The community has grown, & modernized while keeping the tradition of its inviting history.
The days of rolling logs on the lakes /rivers to the mills and preserving our interesting logging museum
We enjoy hosting the variety of guests which most recently has expanded due to the large dome constructed for many activities especially all sports.

Why they chose this property

The modern rustic cabins are only a couple miles from the hub of the city
Which makes everything readily available yet offers every privacy of a cabin in the woods.

What makes this property unique

Shady Point is situated on an isthmus bordered on both sides by Thunder lake, which is part of a chain connected to east with Creek Lake, and to the west, with Boom Lake chain and the Wisconsin River flowage. You’re welcome to bring your own boat or rent one from a local rental company. The lake is perfect for fishing, swimming, boating and kayaking in summer. Ice fishing is always popular in the winter months which may host several tournaments.
Ice skating and broom ball is available if the family is inclined for winter activity.
