Charming two bedroom Central Gardens carriage house in amazing Memphis

Discover this lovely 2-bedroom gem in Central Gardens, Memphis' premiere midtown neighborhood. This is a fully contained private home with it's own entry and outdoor space that was once the carriagehouse of our ca. 1908 historic home. You will have the whole house to yourself. This charming carriagehouse features 1 queen bed in the primary BR and 2 twin beds in the second BR. An open floor plan downstairs makes for a nice place to gather, enjoy a cocktail or a meal with a living room/dining combo, a large open kitchen with counter height barstools and a full bathroom. With amenities like central heat and air, WiFi, and an outdoor patio and lawn space with secure, gated access, guests will have everything they need for a terrific stay. A great place to call home-base while you're away. We hope you enjoy your stay.

We had a wonderful stay! Check in was easy and accurate, just as our host described. The kitchen is fully stocked, and the house itself is comfortable and easily fit 5 of us. Clean, in a great location!

The carriage house was in a great location. Safe neighborhood but still close to everything we wanted to see and do. Super cute and accommodating. Host was great.

Great location and nice home

Cute carriage house and cozy yard with beautiful plants. Private and great location. Neighborhood was walkable and felt safe. Needs a few more kitchen staples (ie. salt, olive oil, etc.)Gate code did not always work on first or second try, had to try a 3-4 times to get it to work. Windows upstairs are not able to be opened. I do not like this as I prefer fresh air over air conditioner. Overall good experience.

It was perfect.

We loved it so much. We were able to enjoy it in the snow and the host were kind enough to shovel the sidewalks and everything. From the dishes to the room it’s exceptionally great. Definitely staying here again!!

The side gate next to the main house was open so we uses this path to get to the vrbo. The carriage house & main house were lit up. We put the code into the keypad several times with no luck unlocking the door. We used the same code to see if it would work on the wooden gate to the side street which it did. Since lights in the main house were on, we knock on their door to see if the owner could unlock the carriage house. We tried contacting the owner via through vrbo since we didn’t have the owner’s phone number. This was when we discovered that she had canceled our reservations a few hours before the check-in time.The owner sent us a message the day before our arrival mentioning that there was an issue with the HVAC and a repair person was coming over at 11. I mentioned that we were in transit and to text me on any updates. Since I didn’t receive any text we figured the problem was fixed. Now we were stuck looking for a place at night. With a religious convention and a football game occurring the same weekend, majority of the downtown hotels in the safer areas were full. The hotel where the wedding that we were in Memphis for was full. We ended up couch surfing at the house of the bride’s parents. The next day we were able to find a place which was more expensive than the cost of the 5 nights at the vrbo and it was located outside of the downtown area so we had the additional commute of 40 minutes each day when a wedding activity occurred which was a total of 4 days.

A Nice Reunion Stay

My friends and I had our annual vacation in Memphis this year. . This location is very centrally located. The house was lovely and we enjoyed ourselves very much.
