The Yalmar House has been in our family for 6 generations. Located in Skandia, it offers 4 cozy bedrooms, each with a queen bed. With 3 bathrooms equipped with all the essentials, you will feel right at home. This delightful home is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway with friends or family. Located just minutes from snowmobile trails, 15 minutes from downtown Marquette and 40 minutes from Munising it is close enough to enjoy these places but just far enough away to relax. We offer a 15% discount with military ID, we appreciate your service. Feel free to reach out to us during your stay - we're happy to suggest local spots to check out. We stayed here for my daughter’s graduation weekend at NMU which was only 20 minutes away. The house was perfect for my family and had everything we needed. We loved everything about it and will definitely stay here again.

Our stay was incredible. Our hosts went above and beyond providing everything we could possibly need. We made wonderful memories sitting around the table playing games from the game closet. Everything was so clean and beds were amazingly comfortable. The Yalmar House is such a special place. The location is convenient for visiting all our favorite things in and around Marquette. We highly recommend staying here!

What a stunning property! It was impeccably clean, utterly charming, and the hosts were incredibly accommodating and considerate. They even left out fresh lilacs and a "Happy Birthday" card for my arrival. They also provided everything we needed to start a bonfire. I was in heaven watching the stars with a s'more during my stay.The central air conditioning wasn't very powerful, but we slept with the bedroom window open at night and kept fans running, which made for a comfortable night's sleep. Plus, the beds and pillows were very comfortable!There is laundry on-site, though we didn't need to use it.This is a very well-stocked home, and you can tell how much care and pride the family takes in its upkeep. There are so many vintage details throughout the home. We especially loved the upstairs doorknobs!Dreaming of a return visit and will be recommending this venue to family and friends.

NMU graduation trip

Wish we would have discovered this gem of a property a couple years ago when my son transferred to NMU. While 12 miles outside of Marquette, the peacefulness of the location was perfect. It worked perfectly for our family to stay together while in town for NMU’s graduation.

Farm House Stay

We enjoyed and appreciated our stay at the renovated farm house. The house is welcoming and has a charming character. Everything was clean and neat, and we had all that we needed.We had a little trouble getting in to the house initially, and our host was quick to respond, and we soon got in. The surrounding area is quiet and the field and trees in the backyard is lovely.
