The 3-season porch is a fantastic place to enjoy morning coffee or evening cards in bug-free peace. The deck include a gas-powered grill (propane included).
We are located on the north end of the lake, which is native habitat to wild rice and aquatic nursery so while we do our best to clear the space around the dock for recreation, the cattails and lily pads to the channel are part of the scenery. The dock is great for launching boats, canoes or kayaks, or paddle boarding.
Lake Sullivan itself is large and deep at 1,100 acres with a max depth of 57 feet. We are near the channel which connects to Platte Lake, offering another 1,600 acres and max depth of 23 feet. Between the two, there is great fishing of Walleye, Bass, Northern Pike, Crappie, Sunfish and Perch.
We have life jackets also ranging from toddler to XXXL adult. In the winter the our bay is a popular ice fishing locale and a snowmobile trail runs past the cabin, expanding to 700 miles of trails in Crow Wing County. Summers are serene and filled with wildlife watching from the hammock- taking in the native birds, herons, the occasional grazing deer and resident beaver. Fall colors typically arrive in late September to early October, which coincides for peak season to enjoy Kathio Mille Lacs state park 20 minutes away. The screened-in porch is ideal for enjoying the autumn colors with a blanket and selection of Keurig-coffees, with a warm indoor gas fire or campfire by the lake. The knotty pine interior and fireplace create a very cozy winter setting, perfect for a quiet weekend getaway. The fireplace is a welcome retreat after ice fishing or snowshoeing or cross country skiing at Kathio Mille Lacs.
