About the host
Hosted by Tyler Horst
Kelsey and I are both grew up in Portland and returned home to start a life together after meeting at the University of Oregon. Kelsey has always had a sentimental attachment to this property as she grew up coming to this cabin with a childhood friend of hers and it became full circle when her family asked if we'd be interested in purchasing it years later. We spent over a year restoring and renovating this beautiful cabin before opening it up to guests and we also enjoy staying here often ourselves as our home away from home and get away from the city. We try to visit any opportunity we get. We are grateful to be able to share our love & passion for this cabin with others and allow you to be able to experience everything we love about this property. We enjoy traveling, the outdoors, trying new restaurants and everything the beautiful Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Why they chose this property
The location of Barlow Haus is a large part of why we fell in love with it. The property is located on two acres, trees will surround every window you look out of. In the rainy months, a stream runs through the property and you can hear the sound of water flowing. The river is across the street and a fantastic beach access point for both kids and adults is just a few minutes away. The property is ideally situated for outdoor enthusiasts, with Mount Hood only 20 minutes away and numerous lakes, rivers, hiking, and biking trails in close proximity.
Return home from a day of hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, swimming, skiing, snowboarding, sledding, or mushroom foraging to a cozy house, a campfire, and smores, or a hot tub and sauna surrounded by 360 degrees of forest.
