The house is a unique, spacious, bright, 2-story rustic mountain house with a beautiful deck facing the quiet state park. The style is a cross between a log-cabin and a chalet. The first floor includes 3 bedrooms, a sauna, a bathroom and a fun game room with a pool table, TV, Nintendo Wii, book and game/toy shelf, dart board, and an electronic train suspended from the ceiling. Enjoy summer grilling and eat outside at the table.
On the second floor, the house has a 4th (master) bedroom with a private bathroom (tub and shower combo), a half bathroom and an open kitchen, dining room and living room. The common area is light and airy, with windows across two exterior walls for views of the beautiful forest/mountain landscape (and wildlife) and a wood fireplace that is serviced annually for safety. The dining table allows your whole family can gather together for a meal. The kitchen is well stocked with small appliances (blender, Ninja Foodie/air fryer, toaster/air fryer, waffle maker, electric griddle, etc.), pots, pans, dishes and silverware so you can easily cook.
To the side of the house is a lovely little yard with a fire pit where you can enjoy a peaceful evening. Your dog can also enjoy some outdoor time using our dog run lead (please clean up after your dog).
We offer premium coffee to go with the coffee maker (Nespresso), organic teas, fair trade chocolates, and locally sourced spring water. We also provide fair-trade, vegan/plant-based, cruelty free shampoo and conditioner as well as linens and towels. Powered by renewable energy, with eco-friendly well water and a septic system, this cabin is a perfect getaway for the environmentally conscious traveler.
We have put a lot of love into making this house a perfect getaway and we think you will enjoy it. We are very accessible owners and respond quickly to questions about the house. Many of our guests love it so much that they come back to book with us again.
Although Gouldsboro is a very safe town, for the additional safety and protection of guests and owners, we do have security cameras which may record the front door and the rear deck. Big Bass Lakes provides additional security by patrolling the neighborhood.
Guest Access:
Although the house is part of the Big Bass Lake Community Association, it is not behind a gate. Check in is still required at the community gate, however. Guests must provide names of guests and certain other information to host immediately upon booking or upon request by host, and to sign paperwork required by the HOA agreeing to abide by HOA rules. Guests will need to obtain parking permits to get into the community and amenity passes to access the BBLCA amenities (a small fee paid to the association is involved for amenity access).
Please be advised that community amenities availabilities may change without prior notice and out of control Host's control.
The Neighborhood:
Located in Gold Star Community, Big Bass Lakes. Quiet, residential neighborhood with wonderful amenities (for a small fee paid to the HOA) and a great vibe! Epic sledding hills for residents and guests/renters only, indoor pool for winter, outdoor pool and splash pad for summer, tennis courts, basketball courts, lake access.
Please note that we are now providing snow tubes for you to borrow for the sledding hill, but you'll need to bring your own helmet (yes, they're that epic!).
Getting Around:
Easy to park at the house or near the amenities. You'll want a car to get around since it's a rural area.
Other Things to Note:
Need an early check-in or a late check-out? Just ask and we will accommodate you if we can.
Please note that the amenities of the house (such as hot tub/sauna) are not guaranteed, though we will do our best to have them working and available for you.
Rental is for family/extended family use, not clubs/parties/events. Big Bass Lake Community Association rules must be abided, and a copy will be provided to guests. Guests will be required to sign some minor paperwork for the association. No smoking. Clean up after your pets. Guests must take all trash and recycling to the Big Bass trash and recycling dumpsters. We ask that guests leave shoes by the door if possible and avoid leaving food/crumbs to help the house stay clean and avoid inviting in unwanted pests (we are right in the woods). House is on a septic system, so there are strict restrictions on what you put in the drains and flush.
Pet fee is $125/pet
We have a blink camera (outside of the house)
Speeding is strictly enforced in the community, and guests who receive a speeding violation will be obligated to pay $200 fine for speeding. RVs are not allowed as well.
Guests booking for 28 days or more must sign a lease agreement.
