Fully renovated and equipped with the best of everything you need to have a fantastic holiday. Kitchen renovated in a modern style with appliances including dishwasher. Large livingroom with flat screen smart tv, including netflix and unlimited wifi internet. Huge sunroom with a games area/table, sleeper sofa and a view of the lake! 4 bedrooms (2 on main, 2 upstairs). Upstairs kids' bedroom has 2 sets of single bunk beds, as well as a trundle daybed that can sleep 2, for a total of 6 sleeping spaces, each bedroom has a double or queen bed.

Huge deck out front with a view of the lake, propane BBQ and table and chairs for dining, loungers for sunbathing, as well as a huge outdoor sofa area with fire table!

2 minute walk to the beach, located on Lakeshore Drive (closest street to the beautiful white sand beaches of Lake Huron). Less than a 10-minute walk to Grand Bend's main strip, which has restaurants, ice cream shoppes, clothing stores, mini-golf, etc. Less than a 5-minute walk to Oakwood Inn, which features an 18-hole, Par 70 golf course, spa, restaurant and lounge and many other local attractions located nearby. Two large grocery stores nearby as well.

This cottage will surpass your expectations and provides today's modern conveniences, along with the charm and character of "Ontario's West Coast". Parking spaces for 3+ cars (2-3 cars comfortably).

Cozy Log Cabin

We had a great long weekend here in Oakwood even if the weather didn't cooperate. The cottage is so very cozy and filled with character. Location to the beach and Main St is perfect. What a great place for a family getaway. Will definitely be back and hopefully the sun will be shining!!

Canada Day on Lake Huron

Nice cottage for our group of 6. Located in a gated neighborhood just steps from the beach of Lake Huron. The cottage had numerous portable fans to help keep the unit comfortable. Parking right behind the cottage made it easy to bring in our groceries, towels and bedding. Grand Bend was a 10 minute walk through the back streets, avoiding traffic on the main road. Hoping to make another visit to the area in the future.

Fantastic location and cute/rustic cottage feel - my family and I were so grateful for the space, especially the back deck. Lindsay was great to communicate with and helpful. This may just be an issue with vrbo, but the listing disappeared and never fully recovered, and I had booked the cottage 9 months in advance, so by the time it came to prepare for the trip, it was hard to know what to expect from the place. Luckily not a huge issue for us, but it originally listed as having AC (a criteria I needed for booking), but it actually does not have it. Also, we only found out a few days before that we needed to bring all linens (sheets, pillows, towels). This may have been stated on the listing, but again, we could not see the listing and were therefore unprepared for this. Overall, great place and well stocked with things to do as well as close to so many attractions.

A special cottage & location

We really enjoyed our stay at this quaint cottage in beautiful Oakwood Park. Short distance to the beach, golf and shopping yet a quiet cottage community. Lindsay and Kyle were great hosts and very responsive to our needs and questions. We had a wonderful vacation with our children and grandchildren.

The photos don’t do this property justice!

This property is so much more than what you see in the photos online. The indoor seating areas are huge. The patio has a big seating area too with a fire table and great bbq. Everything is comfy - the beds, the couches, the outdoor seating. Highly recommend!

Weekend friend retreat

My friends and I in my “bubble” needed a reset and this location and accommodation was perfect. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach, to the strip in Grand Bend and also to Bayfield for some shopping. The property is so nicely decorated and the outdoor patio is a great size. Perfect Girls Week

We enjoyed a perfect week here celebrating my retirement. While it was just the three of us, we already talked about coming back with a larger group! The description is absolutely accurate for the cottage amenities and location. 2 minutes and you are on the beach 10 minute stroll to downtown. Margarita fans, bewarned ... sadly no blender. ;)

Perfect place for some R&R

If you are looking for a place to relax this is it. The cottage has everything you need. The beach is a short walk away. It is a very quiet neighborhood.

We had THE BEST time!!!! The cottage is absolutely beautiful and we would definitely book again given the opportunity! Great location with a true cottage feel

The owners made gaining access very easy. The location is great (steps from the beach, short walk into town or to the golf course). I would highly recommend this cottage, we enjoyed the patio and used both the BBQ and propane fire-pit. Thanks for a great stay!

Thank you for your review, but it’s too bad you haven’t identified yourself, as I have looked back at our guests during last summer and never received any negative feedback from anyone, actually the opposite, Everyone commenting how beautiful it is and how much they enjoyed their stay. We like to please our guests and try to adjust anything that is not satisfactory, so it would have been nice to have been able to have a conversation about your concerns and what you felt it lacked exactly. We take pride in providing a wonderful experience for our guests, so this is disappointing to have not been given a chance to do that for you. It is a log cottage, yes, so I am not sure what your experience with those is, but it got a complete renovation and overhaul in 2016 where we fully renovated both bathrooms adding a shower when it was only a bathtub previously and adding in laundry. The kitchen was completely renovated as well and the entire inside of the log was painted and sealed. We also changed all of the inside furniture, added the very modern deck space with a lake view, bbq and fire table! If you read the other reviews on here, you will see what we usually get as comments back about how beautiful it is and how much it has been updated while maintaining the charm and character of a log cottage. Perhaps you are more used to modern cottages, and after seeing that it is log during your research on our property prior to your stay, maybe you should not have booked it m, if that is not your preference. I don’t think it is fair to say that it wouldn’t take much to bring it up, that was already done, and it did take a lot of renovation and all of our other guests love it. We’re sorry that you didn’t, but I think it is you that needs to adjust your expectations or be more realistic about what you are looking for. Thank you, Lindsay & Kyle

Peaceful and charming near the beach

Lovely, quaint, family friendly cottage with a great outdoor living area. Steps away from the beach. Owners are quick to respond to any questions or problems that may arise. Wonderful place to spend quality time with friends and family. Would definitely come back!
