The Peace River Valley Ranch offers over a square mile of 'Old Florida' property for you to explore and over two miles of frontage on the Peace River. There are miles of well-maintained trails to walk, bike or drive on. Two canoes and two kayaks are available for your use, all included in the rental rate. We own the land on both sides of the Peace River, adding to the sense of privacy.
When you enter through the front gate, you will pass our 'Jeep Dock' where we keep our vehicles, and then our barn and event area with ten picnic tables under a covered pavilion.
RIVER HOUSE Down the road about a mile is the 'River House' located directly on the Peace River. It has been freshly renovated and completely refurnished after being damaged by Hurricane Ian in 2022. It has two bedrooms with king beds and an open loft above the living room with two twin beds, two screen porches, an expansive deck looking over the river and a new fire pit. The River House is comfortably furnished with a large sectional couch in the living room, a new 85" TV and a Sonos sound system. Star Link internet has replaced the old radio-based system and it provides a level of service that just wasn't possible before in our remote location. The large kitchen has granite counter-tops, a large island, and new appliances, including an induction range, microwave with convection, and a refrigerator that makes craft ice. Both bedrooms feature king beds with memory foam mattresses. There are two restrooms, each with a shower. There is also a claw foot tub in the back screen porch, along with a pedestal sink. There is a new Weber Genesis gas grill on the upper deck.
BACK CABIN Our "Back Cabin" is located directly behind the River House and it will accommodate two guests in a king bed. This building was greatly improved after Hurricane Irma in 2017 and it now has a large screen porch out back, central air-conditioning and a luxurious shower. It is has a 65-inch TV, a small refrigerator and a coffee maker. It is on the same Wi-Fi network as the River House.
LODGE The 'Lodge' is located about 1/4 mile from the River House. It has four bedrooms and sleeps eight. Each bedroom is equipped with its own restroom and a small screen porch with a claw-foot tub facing into the woods. The Lodge was also renovated and refurnished after Hurricane Ian in 2022. It no longer has a pool table, and instead it has been transformed into a comfortable living room with a small but functional kitchen and a 54" round dining table. Like the River House, it also has a large sectional couch, an 85-inch TV, and a Sonos sound system. A second Star Link internet system serves the Lodge and provides excellent service. All bedrooms have been refurnished as well. The bedrooms at either end have King Beds and the bedrooms adjacent to the living room now have full beds rather than twins (two full beds in each room). The full beds are much more comfortable for adults. All beds have memory foam mattresses. All bedrooms and the living room are now served by individual mini-split AC systems that are quiet and efficient. Tankless water heaters have been added too--a big plus when filling up one of the clawfoot tubs for a hot bath! There is no additional rental charge for the use of the Original Cabin or the Lodge--only the cleaning fee varies.
EVENTS We also have an area for gatherings of up to 25 people near the barn with a covered pavilion with picnic tables underneath. We have hosted quite a few weddings and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss having yours here. An event fee applies to any gatherings of over sixteen (16) people. Please inquire for details as group size limits will vary depending time of year and property conditions. Only 16 guests may stay overnight.
We only rent to a single party at a time. You will have exclusive use of The Peace River Valley Ranch during your stay--if your party is smaller than 16, our other accommodations will be left vacant and the cleaning fee will be reduced.
Please note NO HUNTING IS ALLOWED. We are located approximately one hour and fifteen minutes from Disney World and about one hour and forty-five minutes from Downtown Orlando.

We had our dream wedding here with our families! The caretaker Mike stole the show for us, he cares for this property as if it's his own & he bends over backwards to make sure guests enjoy their stay. I'd give Charles & their team 6 stars if I could. Don't hesitate to book your stay at the beautiful Peace River Valley Ranch it's worth every cent!
We get a large home every year for a girls getaway and this is my favorite one so far! Even better than the pics inside and out. The property is huge, private and stunning. The house, cabin and lodge are all newly renovated and really well done. If you're considering this property, just book it!
We have stayed at this ranch three times now and each time is just as fun. Kids range in ages from 7 through 17 and they all have the best time, asking to go back again as soon as we leave. We recommend renting golf carts so you can fully explore all the trails throughout the property. It's definitely an "Old Florida" experience off the beaten path, but with all the luxuries you need while here. We will definitely be back again!
After taking a year off for the post-hurricane renovations, the property is back and better than ever. Still the same structures, just elevated and with nice updates inside. Perfect place to keep to yourself, or enjoy with family and friends with everyone in their own spaces.
This was my second visit to the property, this time as a family birthday weekend. The entire group had enough space to comfortably enjoy all of the cozy accommodations as well as a good dose of nature therapy. The host is very responsive and always hospitable. I've already booked to go back again in the new year!
The property in short is amazing. My family and I had an incredible stay at the Peace River Valley Ranch. The property is stunning. To have the freedom to explore such a beautiful untouched wilderness is breath taking. From the booking to our departure, we had the most relaxing time. Charles is very informative and his communication is awesome. We could only stay for 3 days, but we definitely would love to stay for a week plus for our next stay. Charles, Thank you for having us. Look forward to our next stay.
Our trip to Peace River Valley Ranch far exceeded my expectations. We had a group of 10 people for a small office retreat surrounded by nature. The structures are located within habitats reminiscent of Old Florida, with stands of cypress, open pastures and live oak and sabal palm hammocks. We saw multiple types of wildlife including hawks, cranes, deer, cattle, hogs, armadillo and even a bald eagle. The accommodations were clean, roomy and we had everything we needed to enjoy the long weekend immersed in wilderness. Charles was very hospitable and made sure to check in leading up to the trip and answer any questions about our visit. We were able to explore the property on the well maintained paths by both foot and UTV. We will definitely be visiting the ranch again.
This property is beautiful. The River House's view was beautiful. Stars in the sky were a massive plus, with little light pollution, in the open area by the River House.
I think the only disappointing part of this property was that my family and I intended to use the picnic tables area at the event location, and it had an outhouse-style bathroom, which ideally is good compared to the woods. However, it appeared to have not been cleaned for an unknown time. It was filled with dirt and spiders.
All in all the place was great! I am a local to the area and even I loved this place. My out-of-state family continue to talk about how beautiful it was there.
I’m not sure we can give a review that really does this place and the owners justice. We had this trip on the books for a couple of years and even when it was flooded and the owner had to rehab everything- he kept us on the books and stayed in communication as the the readiness of the property.
We had stayed at this property many times before but it’s been redone a few times and it keeps getting better and better. The owner has thought through all the details to make the property perfect for getting away/adventure.
Four wheeling trails, firing range, kayaking and basically any outdoor adventure you want is what this place provides. The inside of the Riverhouse, Cabin and Lodge are very comfortably furnished and have all the accessories that a group needs.
If this was my property, I’d probably keep it all to myself. We feel lucky that the owners make it available for rent. With all the available beds on the property, you’re getting the equivalent of holiday inn pricing per person and a Four Seasons value of experiences.
I don’t like leaving reviews but this place deserves the time to write one.
As reference for groups thinking of booking— Our group had 13 adults and 2 small kids staying on the property and another 2 families with kids visit during the day a couple of times. Plenty of room.
We are repeats, and every time we go it’s just as enjoyable as the first “wow”. There’s so much to do, or nothing to do making it a true vacation! It is quickly becoming an annual tradition for us.
Beautiful property. Always great communication from the owner. Thanks again!
Absolutely Fabulous…!!! Great destination and plenty to do.
It far exceeded our expectations. Our family had plenty to and we were all able eat the same table and sit around the same fire. We had everything we needed.
Our family & friends fell in love with this property 6 years ago! It is now a big part of our spring break memories. It is a true paradise for all ages to enjoy a slice of old Florida. We saw lots of wildlife, enjoyed biking & hiking the trails & roads, played & paddled the river, and found more sharks teeth. Thank you again for offering your home & property to rentals!! Truly a magical place in Florida!
Great outdoor experience! Perfect for a rustic wedding!
Beautiful property! We had our daughter’s rustic themed wedding on site by the beautiful Peace River. The entire property lends an air of peacefulness and relaxation. We can’t wait to come back without a major event to fully enjoy all that this ranch has to offer!
Wow, what an awesome property! Our group ranged in ages 1-45 and we all had an amazing time. It was the perfect place to get away and rest, but still have some adventures too. Charles was great with communicating and everything essential and more was included with the property. All of us had such a good time playing in the river, looking for sharks teeth, cooking meals, and just relaxing enjoying the property and each other’s company. Definitely want to come back.
Absolutely stunning property. Charles was incredibly responsive and accommodating, easing any wedding-related stress and allowing us to focus on what matters. Our group enjoyed gathering at the river house, exploring the hundreds of acres of nature, and paddling down the peace river. If you love being secluded in nature (and have friends and family who feel similar), we couldn’t recommend this property more.
Family had a great time with the canoes and kayaks. Our 2 year old loved driving around in the morning looking at the animals. The older kids and adults looked for sharks teeth. We never had to leave the property. We will be back everyone felt relaxed

About the host
Hosted by Charles Frederick
Our family used to lease the land that is now the Peace River Valley Ranch for hunting back in the 40's and 50's. In the early 70's, we acquired title to the original 653 acres and have added adjacent parcels over the years, including an orange grove that abuts the property. We no longer hunt the Peace River Valley Ranch and now treat it as a game preserve and a private getaway for family and friends.
Why they chose this property
This is 'Old Florida' at its best. We live in Orlando and this is our escape when we need reminding of how Florida used to be. From the windmill to the lilly pond, the grass fed cows and our 'retired' horse and donkey, you will get a real ranch experience. The rest of the property is kept in as natural condition as possible to encourage wildlife and offers great opportunities for nature walks and photography.
What makes this property unique
Where else are you going to find a property offering over 700 private acres of land and a mile of riverfront to explore?
Perfect for several families, reunions or corporate retreats, with a large event area with ten picnic tables under a tin-roofed pavilion.
