Your own private log cabin and waterfall! Listen to the rushing stream as it cascades over your own private 50 foot high waterfall in your own private cabin. For the writer. For the dreamer. For the romantic getaway. Be inspired, transported and immersed into our Hamakua Coast rain forest oasis. Located next to the Waipio Lookout, our rain forest property is the perfect place to recharge and rejuvenate. We’re a ten minute drive to Historical Honoka’a Town. Our "Banana Belt" climate is perfect!
This is a one of kind, unique one bedroom romantic and whimsical log cabin getaway that overlooks the Waiulili stream, gulch and waterfall. There is nothing else like it on the Island. Hand painted detailing, charming and fun, adorn the exterior walls and floor. There is a small kitchen, all original cabinetry, and includes a mini-refrigerator with freezer, toaster oven with convection function, microwave and dual infrared stovetop; dishes, silver-ware and coffee maker. It is fully furnished and cozy with a king sized bed and couch for putting your feet up and resting. There is a separate dining and office space that overlooks your private waterfall!
The bathroom has a shower overlooking the stream, and its own separate sitting area. Separate from the main room of the cabin, the bathroom is accessed by turning to the right under your private lanai.
We have HiSpeed Internet and cable TV. For the remote worker or writer, the cabin can be your live-in remote office or studio. Washer and dryer are available on premises.
Running through the middle of the property is a peaceful year round stream, molded with spiritual sized rocks and surrounded by rain forest. The stream cascades over small waterfalls among the rocks, and terminates in a dramatic 50 foot water fall. Put your feet in the water, play with the craw fish, or layout on the rocks in the sun. Listen to the rushing sound of the river, enjoy a book by the stream or explore the magical gardens that weave in and out of the gulch.
There is a shared BBQ area for your use by the stream in the gulch.
Our sunny climate is tempered by the trade winds. There is a constant breeze keeping temperatures cool, comfortable and perfect. We're a five minute walk to the Waipio Valley Lookout. Take in the majestic high valley cliffs and ocean views. Watch whales breaching with views to Maui.

Very romantic and beautiful place to stay :) my only regret was only staying one night. Thank you for hosting such an incredible place in such a beautiful location :)
gorgeous property with beautiful scenery sleeping with the sound of the waterfall was wonderful nighttime relaxation with illumination from our cabin of the waterfall was wonderful. The hosts are amazing and friendly.
We stayed in the waterfall room and it was fantastic. Secluded, romantic, perfect for a couple get away. The grounds are so beautiful there is no need to visit a botanical garden. A must visit when on the Big Island
We loved our stay with Katerina and Darin. Katerina was such a great and helpful host and a joy to talk with! The Waterfall cabin and surroundings were beautiful, and I find myself back there in my mind all the time! Thanks so much!Aloha, Tanya and Kevin
Not enough words could describe the beauty of this property. The grounds itself are a full lush botanical garden that you get to explore fully and immerse yourself in. They have so perfectly set up benches, swings and hammocks all throughout the property so everyone can find their perfect little nook to find serenity and peace and take in the scenery. The cabin itself is fully equipped with everything you need and has a breathtaking overlook of the waterfall. You get to fall asleep under the stars with the skylights and listen to all the nature as you fall asleep. We are already thinking ahead of our future trip to come stay here again!
The Waterfall Cabin in the Rainforest truly feels like a piece of paradise—quiet, clean, beautiful, and incredibly peaceful. The sound of the waterfall is heavenly and adds to the magic of the setting. The hosts were most gracious, and the cabin had everything we needed for our two-night stay. While this is not high-end or luxury accommodation, it is thoughtfully set up and very comfortable. The kitchen area includes a microwave, two portable electric cooktops, pots, pans, a blender, and two compact refrigerators—perfect for simple meals. We had read a review mentioning that the bathroom is located outside the main cabin and found it to be a non-issue. The bathroom at the back of the lanai is very clean and spacious and is only a few feet from the bedroom. You simply walk a few steps under a covered porch—it felt no different than walking down a short hallway. The cabin is a short drive from the Waipiʻo Valley overlook, making the location both serene and convenient. A wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the rainforest.
We arrived later into the night and check-in was seamless and we were able to settle in quickly and starting enjoying the waterfall immediately. The whole property is just stunning, we woke up and ventured around, we took a couple days to just chill in the stream. Went into town and got vegetables, fruit, fish and meat and hunkered down for a few days. It was amazing, there is a great pellet grill that we put to work. Wonderfully fresh veggies and fruit, made a fresh fish curry and poke bowls. I can't suggest this property more. It was perfect for me and my partner. You might have to juggle appliances due to power constraints but we were careful and never ran into any issues. Can't wait to come back :D
